1. Being illegal brings no automatic benefits
Big bad Jew ,   United States   (08.23.12)
Here in the states, legality is also required for school kids. No nation can absorb all illegals and secure them the same rights as legal citizens. The parents must attempt to become legal before they expect such services which are being paid by its citizens. A real no brainer...
2. They should be made to feel welcome
David ,   Haifa, Israel   (08.23.12)
3. High court
michael Pielet ,   israel   (08.23.12)
Better idea repatriate all illegals and their children. Best idea deport the judges on the high court. Is Israel going to be a Jewish country or a country of immigrants? The high court and other irredentist elements of israeli society are working day and night to undermine and destroy the Jewish state.
4. Imported workers
Ethan Schwartz ,   Eilat   (08.23.12)
Eilat Businesses have been employing foreign workers, at least for all of the 30 years I have lived here. The people beating the drums of hate and fear are those who profited from the trade in foreign workers (manpower companies) and their recruiters overseas. While seeking ways to repatriate the refugees they should be made to feel welcome. Their children must learn with ours and it must be a long term lesson for the next generation.
5. segregation
Iletzter ,   TA- Israel   (08.23.12)
I am sure the High Court judges wouldn't send their kids to such a school.
6. Why not place kids in grade level
Enis ,   USA   (08.23.12)
of attainment, rather than age level grade. If a 12 yr old is at 2nd grade level then place chile in 2nd grade. Just wondering
7. #4 Ethan Schwartz, U left me WORDLESS, keep it UP sir.

Israel is a country founded by immigrants, built by immigrants, populated by immigrants, for immigrants. Don't be so foolish. Go learn something useful
9. High Court is a shame. Settler & Haredim will do whatever t

10. #3 Immigrant country
Gregg ,   Haifa, IL   (08.23.12)
Hasn't Israel been a country of immigrants for the past 64 years?
11. Judge Jubran says ignore the law!
Bob K ,   Orlando US   (08.23.12)
For a judge to say "it does not matter how they got here" is a rejection of the principle of the very laws he has sworn to uphold. These children should continue with their education since it's not their fault they are in Israel but it is OK for the city to say they need a special facility. The illegal immigrants should be repatriated to their home countries except for Somalis whose country is in a state of civil war. Those immigrants should be sent to another country, maybe Egypt or Jordan or in Europe. Israel cannot be the destination of Africa's millions of prospective economic migrants.
12. #4Ethan,a Eilat resident says EXACTLY what I been saying
Alan ,   SA   (08.23.12)
since this Infiltrator thing started. The Republic of Eilat Tourist and Service Industry has used and exploited these Africans for 30 years... They paid them a pittance for hewing the wood and drawing the water.while overseas tourists paid over their $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Now they dont want their kids to go to local schools I say arrest the Hoteliers etc and throw away the key if Illegals are found there. And deport the Illegals after they had a few weeks free holiday to recuperate from their hard labours
13. Gregg likes to be provocative . We understand you dear Gregg
Alan ,   SA   (08.23.12)
14. being illegal should mean deportation!
not enrollment ,   jack bauer   (08.23.12)
15. 8 & 10 yes it has, and the immigrants were jews
not african muslims ,   jack bauer   (08.23.12)
and it should continue to be the one state on earth where jews can continue to come, why,?.... to build a Jewish homeland.... a Jewish nation, not some fantasy TA faithless lala land of multiculturalism based on a failed western democracy model. With the vast differences in the types of jews we have already we have more then enough diversity already without inviting the problems of the world in on top of the problems of the world we already have. We have a 5th column already, lets not make a 6th one
16. To: No. 4
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.24.12)
Would you want a student who is five or six years behind the grade level he is in sitting in the same class as your child? Don't forget that the teacher must always teach at the level of the slowest student. And you cannot put a 17 year old in a classroom with seven year olds. Besides, as far as the Sudanese are concerned -- Arabic is an official language of Sudan. Let these students learn in Arabic-language schools.
17. To: No. 10
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.24.12)
Jewish immigrants, dear. Except, of course, for Eurotrash such as yourself. For two thousand years, Jews were persecuted throughout the world -- which is why we needed our country back in the first place -- and now you have the nerve to tell us that we shouldn't have a country of our own? Do you see the irony?
18. #15 face it! Your fantasy of a pure Jewish land has failed
(08.24.12)
Maybe in another life time or universe
19. #16 Sarah B.S
Avi ,   Israel   (08.24.12)
And if that child who is five or six years behind the grade level he is in, happens to be yours? Would you approve of kicking him out and deporting him back to the U.S...
20. Eilat-A City of Zero Tolerence
Billie ,   Eilat   (08.25.12)
As a resident of Eilat for the past 18yrs and having raised 3 kids in this town I feel i have a right to make a few statements. The children of the various African states (approx 50) are the innocent victims. As by international law they are entitled to an education. For the past few years the local Education authority and municipality have ignored this law and instead of absorbing the kids at the rate of their arrivals they have been subject to rejection. The only help was a lone kibbutz member who with some other volunteers was able to try and form some school framework but for lack of support and funds was not able to carry on since last year.In the meantime the local council have been instigating a campaign which has incited hate against the African people.Even though they are happy to employ them around the city. The city has been funded fortunes for a program of "City of No violence",yet one of the main factors to promote such a thing would be tolerence. I thought it was an honour and a privalige to live in a Jewish country, now I just feel ashamed. Yet again the city of Eilat, has managed to miss an opportunity.
21. Grades
Billie ,   Eilat   (08.25.12)
Just for some of your information. Eilat schools are not so great, sure the kids who have the ability and support achieve the mark but in general I have not a very good opinion of the schools. I also know for a fact that Israeli kids who have moved to the UK were very far behind their peers.
