poland was moved over. Huge areas of poland were taken in the east and given to the USSR. In todays belorus. Nobody is complaining and demanding payment for that. So part of east Prussia was taken and given to Poland. And a part even remains as Russian (kaleningrad) Poland was scooted over and large tracts of Eastern Germany were given to it. In ALL of these case millions of people were displaced most leaving their homes and receiving no recompense. Poland is not different from other countries and should compensate Jews and Poles alike which had their property taken.

Mark, you are missing an important point. The polish state NATIONALIZED all of these properties after the war. Hence they have a responsibility to compensate for the nationalized properties.

You're referring to the time before 1945, but Poland surely didn't seize the property while the Germans were still there. It happened after the Germans had gone. As the article states: "...appropriated by the Polish communist government following the Second World War."

The Cold War is over, Poland is independent today and Poland has still not compensated Israel and the Jews. Germany has not compensated the Jews. Nazi Germany has stolen Jewish property that amounts to $ 300-400 billion dollars. Germany repaid only a small fraction of that. Germans can never repay their moral debt but they haven't repaid their financial debt. Poland has done even less. Israel owes the Arabs nothing since we haven't stolen a land that never belonged to them. In the case of Poland, we are not speaking of Jews claiming national rights in Poland. We are speaking of Jews that want financial compensation for private property. Why the USA should do anything? Because USA consists of mainly good people and has the power to pressure Poland. You and others on this forum permanently claim that land can't be stolen from the Palestinians because Israel/Palestine is not their indigenous country. They came from elsewhere and therefore have no right to possess land in Israel/Palestine, right? But according to this logic there cannot be Jewish land outside of Israel, because only Israel is the indigenous land of the Jews. All Jews come originally from Israel. Poland is not the Jews' indigenous country, how can somebody steal Jewish land in Poland then? Jews came as foreigners to a country they "don't belong to" - just as the Palestinians did.
