1. Why did her parents do when Rachel put herself in danger?
PETER SM ,   MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA   (08.28.12)
When suicide bombers and missiles were killing Israeli children?
2. These two anti-Semites have been
Reuven   (08.28.12)
demonizing Israel all over the world. Their hateful, terrorist suppoerting daughter stupidly caused her own death by going to a closed military zone to interfere with an antt-terrorist operation.
3. The most sad day
Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (08.28.12)
was when their doughter travelled to the Middle East, to seek her own trouble.
4. she/left wanted punishment. got justice instead.
ralph   (08.28.12)
5. corrie
michael weinreich ,   south africa   (08.28.12)
to hell with the corrie family. kick them out of israel.
6. Sad Day
Arturo   (08.28.12)
It's a sad day for the Corries, because they could not capitalize on the death of their activist child, for financial and propaganda gains.
7. Rachel Corrie was a ISM terrorist supporter
Dan Kelso   (08.28.12)
A Tribute to Rachel Corrie Thanks for showing us what "peace" really means. RUHAMA SHATTAN March 16, 2004 Today is the first anniversary of Rachel Corrie's death. I want to thank Corrie for the explosives that flow freely from Egypt to Gaza, via the smuggling tunnels under the Gaza homes that she died defending. Perhaps it was these explosives that in the year since her martyrdom--oops, death--have been strapped around suicide bombers to blow up city buses and restaurants in Israeli cities, particularly in Jerusalem, killing men, women and schoolchildren (two of them classmates of my daughter and her friend in the February 22, 2004 bombing) and leaving hundreds more widows, orphans and bereaved parents. On the first anniversary of her death, I want to thank Rachel Corrie for showing Palestinian children how to despise America as she snarled, burned an American flag, and led them in chanting slogans, and as she gave "evidence" at a Young Palestinian Parliament mock trial finding President Bush guilty of crimes against humanity. Perhaps her help in fanning the flames of violent anti-American sentiment led to the October 2003 bombing of the Fulbright delegation to Gaza to interview scholarship candidates, killing three. There will be no new crop of Palestinian Fulbright scholars this fall. On the first anniversary of her death, I wanted to thank Rachel Corrie for providing her organization, the Palestinian-sponsored International Solidarity Movement, with the opportunity to release a manipulated photo sequence "showing" an Israeli military bulldozer deliberately crushing her. (I would also like to thank the Associated Press and the Christian Science Monitor for taking up the baton and immortalizing this cynical ISM stunt.) On the first anniversary of her death, I want to thank Rachel Corrie for showing the way to all those who seek peace in the Middle East. Unfortunately, Corrie's peace, as anyone familiar with the Palestine Liberation Organization, Fatah, Hamas and Hezbollah organizations that she defended with her life knows--or as anyone familiar with the weekly rants of the Friday preachers in the Palestinian mosques is aware--means not peaceful coexistence but the elimination of the state of Israel, and death to those they call "the usurping Jews, the sons of apes and pigs." Thank you, Rachel Corrie, of Evergreen State University, where the profs wear khakis and kaffiyehs at graduation ceremonies, for showing us what peace really means.
8. It's a sad day
Jane   (08.28.12)
when parents do not monitor the activities of their children and thereby allow them to walk mindlessly into harm's way. What the hell is wrong with the Corries? Did they not grasp where their daughter was going and what she was doing? Negligent.
9. Rachel Corrie Injustice
Rashid ,   Gaza   (08.28.12)
Why are they not protesting at all the Syrians being killed and tortured in Syria or all of the Arabs in Gaza being killed by Hamas Government thugs? If you really cared... you would be there.
10. IDF
mike ,   san francisco   (08.28.12)
good job IDF
11. What did you expect Mrs. Corie ? ,...
split ,   US   (08.28.12)
After all your daughter was a Goy and according to some of their 'spiritual leaders' teachings a nothing more than a donkey ,...
12. Playing with fire
Joe ,   Toronto, Canada   (08.28.12)
Dont you hate it that when peace activists enter a war zone, they get hurt or killed? This is simply intolerable! Where else in the world today does this happen? Sheesh.
13. rachel
nossen ,   j-m   (08.28.12)
I shudder to think what would have happened to Rachel if she had messed with another army in our neck of the woods. I do have compassion for her family but.........
14. Sad indeed
Au. ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (08.28.12)
This is a sad day indeed for it shows that Cindy Corrie still belives it was not her duty to prevent her teenage daughter to travel in Middle East & fight bulldozers there.
15. Corrie family should be charged for court costs
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (08.28.12)
The court rightly rejected the charges brought by the complainants. Nonetheless, Israel's cost for running the trial, defending the IDF, etc. wasn't insubstantial. Israel's judges sometimes assess court costs against filing parties. Doing so in this case might discourage such blatantly political filings in the future. The court's judgement was the correct one. And the parents of that crazy lefty, now a "martyr" to the cause, are going home as losers.
16. Corrie Verdict
Albert ,   USA   (08.28.12)
Justice was done!
17. I think it is a sad day for you ??
cc ,   israel   (08.28.12)
18. The Corries
Harris ,   Miami, USA   (08.28.12)
It is sad that the Corries lost a daughter. It is not sad that they fail to realize the difference between Israel and the radical Muslim world their naive daughter made her cause. Let them go to Iran, Syria, or Saudi Arabia and fight for human rights there!
19. #9 - because it's dangerous there
William ,   Israel   (08.28.12)
Foreigners prefer to come to Camp Protest Israel, where they can join violent protests during the day - without fear of being harmed - then party in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv at night. It's these foreigners that complicate the situation and make reaching real peace between the two people here virtually impossible.
20. Corries claim this is sad day for human rights
William ,   Israel   (08.28.12)
Actually, this is a great day for human rights. You see - oh, Leftist shills of Washington State - your daughter had her full human rights and exhibited the right of self-determination. She chose very poorly and entered a war zone, defending terrorists which are indefensible! She placed herself in harm's way - probably believing she was perfectly safe as did her fellow ISM members who enter war zones in Israel with no consequences. After all - ISM members with her that day admitted the IDF ALWAYS stopped for them and no one was ever hurt. Mr & Mrs Corrie - there is no human right that allows a person to STEAL human rights from another, as your daughter did to the thousands of Israelis who are targets for Gazan-based rockets and suicide bombers. Today, the courts ruled that your daughter was basically an idiot, responsible for her own actions, and that the law will not bend to adhere to your emotional and political bias, no matter how sad the outcome is. Your daughter's human rights were upheld in Israel, as was all of our's when the Israeli court stuck to the rule of law and rendered a fair verdict. Now, please partake in your human rights, and exit the Jewish State willingly.
21. #13 - remember the Italian Pro-Pally activist killed in Gaza
William ,   Israel   (08.28.12)
I don't recall his family making an intl stink about it and trying to sue the "Palestinians" for wrongful death even though he was basically executed. Infact, I think the family tried to blame Israel and that was quickly slapped down in Italy.
22. Vittorio Arrigoni, Juliano Mer-Khamis
Anna ,   Montreal, Canada   (08.28.12)
were infidels according to split. He'll find the way to blame Israel for their deaths as well. On the other hand, there is nothing more disgusting then death glorifying culture. Millions of brainwashed Muslims from their early childhood are trying to become shahids in order to receive Martyr's reword. Islam doesn't encourage its followers to advance in helping humans to survive as species and prosper but only seeks its complete domination above the human lives and spirits.
23. #11. split: Wiki: "unlawful combatant" def.
Tom W ,   USA   (08.28.12)
From Wiki: "An unlawful combatant or unprivileged combatant/belligerent is a civilian who directly engages in armed conflict in violation of the laws of war. An unlawful combatant may be detained or prosecuted under the domestic law of the detaining state for such action." (/quote) This is YOUR American definition and it can be aptly applied to your heroine, R. Corrie. Cont: "The Geneva Conventions do not recognize any lawful status for combatants in conflicts not involving two or more nation states." (/quote) This explains why so many friends of you ended up at Gitmo.
24. "Unlawful combatant" and the law
Tom W ,   USA   (08.28.12)
IMS is a civilian, foreign, hostile organization which on occasion engages armed conflict with Israel (Marmara). No sovereign nation issues "permit to enter" to individuals considered troublesome. The EU member UK refused visa to Dutch parliamentarian, Geert Wilders because the British "did not like him". The list is long. It's the fault and negligence on the part of the Israeli gov.ment that it doesn't define the status and concept of "Unlawful combatant". Its silence creates all these turbulences with foreign agitators. The US does it, and it prevents a slew of unnecessary incidents and provocations by the Islamists. The threat of Gitmo is a potent repellent.
25. Sympathy for this terrible event but
ky   (08.28.12)
I am so very sorry for their loss and my sympathy goes out to them. However there is one hard truth in this case and that is is she took the decision to stand in front of a bulldozer and not move. I think , without being too judgmental, when you take a look at Rachel 's face you can see a very stubborn personality. With some young people it takes time before they realize that they can't bend the world to the shape they want. Sadly this can sometimes have a bad outcome
26. That was an accident. The driver thought she was Palestinian
Emilio GF ,   Brazil   (08.28.12)
27. You want more Terror? Bloody family
Dan   (08.28.12)
28. To: Dan at No. 7
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.28.12)
Thank you so much for sharing that article. It is important that everyone see who the real Rachel Corrie was -- a staunch and strident supporter of ersatz "Palestinian" terrorism. Kudos to you!
29. The Corries should be sued ...
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.28.12)
... by the State of Israel for bringing a nuisance suit and wasting the resources and time of the Court!
30. Cindy Corrie on verdict
david ,   montreal,canada   (08.28.12)
If she would of tried to stop the Pals, she would of been lynched or beheaded in puplic. Her parents are to blame to let her get involved in a cause that not heres.
