31. Sarah B you display a very narrow, shortterm perspective
Mae White ,   Tel Aviv   (08.30.12)
In a global economy, how could it not affect you Sarah B, even if you live in the inpenetrable US? That's what Americans thought BEFORE 9/11... or did that also have nothing to do with you? Must be nice to live in lalaland like you seem to.
32. Kim UK
Mae White ,   Tel Aviv   (08.30.12)
Very few in Israel would blast Obama for "intervening", Kim. Really you underestimate the intelligence of the Jewish state by thinking that all we have to do is sit around and blast ineffective leaders like Obama. Who's extorting you Kim? Why do you feel so put upon? Is anybody God forbid asking anything of the British in this cruel neighborhood of despots and Islamofascists?
33. Unfortunately BHO is definitely involved
Tzila ,   MOdiin, Israel   (08.30.12)
The MB came to power in Egypt with BHO's blessing and so it will be in Syria. MB that has infiltrated the U.S. gov't is calling the shots. For example, Hillary's most senior advisor, Abedin, is daughter of the head of MB's female counterpart, the sisterhood. Israel is being squeezed out of existence slowly right now, If BHO wins in Nov. Israel will be brought to its knees rather quickly.
34. #33. Israel needs do do everything Obama doesn't want us to.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.30.12)
#33. Israel doesn't depend on Obama. However, Israel does need a P.M. with the guts to tell Obama "NO" in no uncertain terms. We need to destroy Iran's nukes. We need to stop the sick "peace process with Palestinians", which is intended to destroy Israel. In short, Israel needs to do just about everything Obama doesn't want Israel to do.
35. #14 Kim
Rachel ,   US   (08.30.12)
Have you heard of difference of opinion? Surely you have it in UK or does everyone think uniformly?
36. To: No. 31
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.31.12)
Are you referring to Sarah B at Post No. 11 or Sarah B at Post No. 28? Two very different people. Sarah B at Post No. 11 is British and claims to live in Israel (she also claims her name is really Sarah B, which is highly doubtful). She chooses to deliberately use my name, and offers up perfectly absurd comments in the hopes that they will be attributed to me. Most people know better. I'm hoping you, too, know better.
37. THE TITLE DREW MY ATTENTION
FARES ,   SYRIA/USA   (08.31.12)
Bechor is wrong again . The one fighting the goverment are the syrian people defending their families and honor ... led by the defected army who refused to shoot at innocent civilians . so basically ,they are good respected guys Bechor . Good luck with accusing alqaida because this is rediculous thinking ...we have christians and alawites fighting the assad thuggs MR Bechor . it is clear that israel wants the assad to stay ( from you,NYtimes ,today's NPR ...etc ..) and syrians are very smart people ,they know who are their real enemy ( Israel ),the one promoting the sunni shiia conflict since the arrival of the Khumaini in 1979 . israel pushed the white house to ignite the iraq iran war and then pushed it again ( through Aipac and the neo-con ) for the first and second iraqi wars . Israel is costing the USA trillions of dollars in economic losses over the last 3 decades the report said today!!!!oops ,yes today sir . making Israel the biggest enemy of the united states ,the report said today in the US . Assads ( father and son ) are a great men for israel, got rid of the palestinian cause , promoting a sectarian war in the region( lebanon, Iraq and now syria and god knows where next ) that eventually israel will be the only looser ...trust me . Americans are Naive ,but not stupid and they can be fooled only once .
38. thank you
Bonnie Hyden ,   Hemphill, Texas   (08.31.12)
Thanks to the author of this opinion for making the distinction between Obama's America and The People's America! There IS a difference!
39. Syria's civil war
Henry ,   Cavite, Philippines   (09.02.12)
Why not just let the Muslims kill each other if that is what they want. The article is correct in saying that there are no "good guys" in this Syrian war. Let them wear out each other. Sending arms to one or even both sides would be the right thing to do so far as an eventual world peace is concerned. The less of them there are in the world, the better for the world.
40. syria
phillip ,   usa   (09.02.12)
yeah BUT, What about the Russian Naval base? It looks alot like the Georgian war to me. West never could stand Russians in their Pool just like muslims never could stand the west having one foot in their front yard. Maybe the cold war never really ended.

beragil   (10.08.12)
And people steel asking us "why are you worrying About the western policy?"
42. Comprehensive Restructuring of the Middle East
God ,   Ramat Gan   (03.05.13)
Give the Kurds, Assyrians and Aramaic-speaking ethnicities and identities their own country and redraw the borders of the region to reflect these natives. Also return the lands of the Armenians. Complete sovereignty over all land between the sea and the Jordan river and the northern one-third of the Sinai peninsula should be given to Israel. Sinai was no one's. It was given on a silver platter to Egypt.
