so be it. You dont have to support them in the least. Cut off the welfare and let them survive peddling apples on a pushcart. They can then wear any schmatte they want and pretend they are serving god. If being poor dependent and ill informed is their way of serving god, then who the hell am I to object. Go ahead let them make themselves poor, wanting, pathetic and yes irrelevant.
2. A Haredi state would NOT be a halachic state!
Thinking Jew ,   Israel   (08.31.12)
Haredim are ignorant and superstitious fanatics, stuck in a medeval eastern Europe mindset far removed from the Middle East (much moreso Moses and Sinai), who daily violate and contradict halacha. Be afraid of THAT, not halacha!
3. They won't know theyre ignorant until theyre educated

Education IS the remedy for ignorance
4. Funny, 100% Hareidim think all Jews should study Torah

in their "core curriculum in their education systems!"

Whether Haredim are 12% or 18% of pupils, that's not quite a majority! What doesn't get mentioned is the cut off age for the core curriculum. I assume the Haredi boys have core curriculum up to Bar Mitzvah and girls probably much longer. The 19th Century objection to a core curriculum in Jerushalmi chadorim was based on the lack of Orthodox male teachers. It was never based on an objection to studying maths or languages, which boys were allowed to do privately, if there was a suitable teacher. Looking at the longer term Haredim have changed a great deal, are less afraid of the outside world and more willing and able to integrate gradually. Kulturkampf will not work.
