Where were all these bastards when Egypt and Jordania were "occupying" the (funny and inexisting) country of Palestine? Now it is normal to do so... Jews are there and arer making a nice country.
2. Get a clue, get democracy in Palestine, or get out, or both

3. Produce from the illegal settlements is not 'Made in Israel'
Alan Smith UK   (09.05.12)
South Africa has seen colonialism and imperialism in its worst form and experienced the effects first hand. To see Israel, a state that proclaims to be a democracy, employ that very same imperialism against the Palestinian people is abhorrent. The South Africans could do more to end Israeli apartheid, but all they ask is for goods produced in the occupied territories to be labelled as such, and that's the mark of a real democracy, not a theocracy of land thieves that masquerades as a democracy.
4. Settlement Goods are Bad for a Settlement
Golden Dome ,   Washington, USA   (09.05.12)
The pressure of a boycott or even labeling goods 'Occupied Territory' betters the chance for settling the issues of the Occupation. At the very least it couldn't be worse than what we've seen in the last 44 years.

Israel is a thriving democracy.

There is no apartheid. Arabs live alongside Jews in Israel and have equal rights (though the two don't always play so well together). Arabs even serve in the Knesset. There is a separation wall between the Citizens of Israel and those people under the authority of the Palestinian Authority though. They are not Israeli. They are citizens of a separate political entity whom the Israelis have felt it necessary to separate from their own citizens to whom the PA's citizens pose a threat. It is like how the US has built a wall along her southern border. If the citizens of a foreign entity pose a threat to your citizens can you blame your government for separating the two?
8. SMITH Settlements are not illegal.Leave Malvinas&Gibraltar
PETER SM ,   MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA   (09.05.12)
Arrogance of Albion colonialism is something else. When your proletariat negotiates borders, there will be borders as per UNSCR 242. Arab invaders and their British mercenaries ethnic cleansing Jews out of the WB was their illegal acquisition by war. The Jews came BACK.

Only Jews do not have a right to a piece of land.
12. Visit Israel
Claude ,   London,UK   (09.05.12)
As part of an increasingly arrogant and discredited ANC Minister Ebrahim will soon have more important battles to fight closer to home. I suggest Israel should have a campaign to promote and even sponsor visits to IL from SA students, journalists etc - they are the true voices of a new educated SA, not to old guard like Ebrahim from a party that shoots miners, supports Mugabe and whose Foreign Policy is stuck in the past

Politically, people may choose to regard Judea and Samaria as occupied. But, in legal terms, they are not. Anyone interested can easily find out what determines "occupied" status and see that this is not the case. As someone who believes in a two state solution, I also know that it takes two to tango. Israel has no imperialist motivations towards the Palestinians that I can see. But Israeli control of the area is necessary for as long as it takes for the Palestinians to give up their own political leaders' long-held ambition to not accept Israel, to destroy Israel and to remove from Jews any vestige of the national home that was promised to them in law in "Palestine". If you want evidence of apartheid in action, why don't you interrogate the Palestinian Authority's policies towards land sales to Jews and to those who sell the land. By the way, I love your phrase "theocracy of land thieves" which so rightly describes the history of the Arabian peninsula, the ethnic cleansing of the Jews by the Arabs in east Jerusalem and the surrounding areas in 1948 and the dear old CofE, still benefiting from the settlement of land on abbeys, bishoprics and monasteries after the Norman Conquest..
