Rabbi Schneier is a groveling fool. This whole thing is BS. It creates a type of moral equivalencey when the reality is that Muslims are attacking Jews and rarely, if ever, the other way around. When Muslims do come under attack, it's by the far right, and grovelers like Schneier go and stickup for the Muslims. Most of the attacks on Jews are at the hands of Muslims and rarely do Muslims, in a significant way, step up to defend the Jews against their own. Also, the Jews aren't being attacked because of their acctions, but because they are simply hated (by the nonnative Muslims). In substantial part, Muslims are disliked for their actions and because they are a real threat criminally, demographically and with respect to terror. The Jews that defend those that are their enemies, and biggest threat, are simply fools! They don't even realize how much they're being used. Shmucks!

I was present at this meeting and what this article forget to say is that the rector of the Mosq of Paris made a tribute for Mouloud Aounit. This personnage recently died and belonged to the MRAP, a movment against racism. Since the nineties, this movment started to forgot its own initial purpose and became antiisraeli, excused new forms of antisemitism in France and fighted for the right of the islamic scarves everywhere in France. It's for this dark personnage the rector made a tribute. Without any reaction of jewishs personalities... Second point. In the speeches always islamophobia and antisemitism were placed at the same degree. I dont deny that a primary racism exists against muslims, I'm not against dialogue... but today the only european community who is killed and injuried is the jewish one! And the muslims are in 99% of cases the agressors. We cant make peace betweens communities in France with hypocrisy and without telling the true. Poor France!

There is a difference in understanding here.. The current situation is islamic followers are attacking jews and christians.. Jews does not attack islamic followers and christians. Just look to Africa and other places where islamic killings is called "a arab spring"!!! For me it is pre-planned killings directed by crazy (or islamic) imams..

Since 1939 the worllds population has grown from less than two billion to seven billion and more now.the Palestinians Arabs have grown from a million two hundred thousand to ten million plus. .The Jewish population has dropped from eighteen million to fourteen million.This is due to nazi genocidal ism. All humane and sane people's ought know the dangers with twenty thousand thermonuclear weapons in circulation and many other destructive gruesome weapons.Iran needs to abandon its quest for nuclear weapons for there will be proliferation and intoxicated triumphalism with thermonuclear war and a massive nuclear winter even if there only thirty five Jews in Israel with the capacity to explode thermonuclear chemical biological and so called conventional weapons.

Of course, any meeting of Muslims and Jews to promote peaceful coexistence is commendable. However, the root causes of problems between Muslims and Jews need to be addressed, such as Islam's call for death to the Jews, Islam's ban on the practice of all non-Islamic religions, Islam's abuse of women, and, Islam's Shariah. A peaceful and constructive meeting to discuss those issues would be more impressive.

I took part of such jewish--muslim meeting/gathering in France. It's great to exchange with imams when there is no hatred. I remember once I prayed with a muslim, it was in the prayer room of Munich airport. Islam is closer to judaism than christianity, you know that.

What "Christian" establishment are you talking about? The elites of Western Europe are secular, liberal, Marxist and decidedly post-Christian (to the point of being almost anti-Christian). And these people are by no means against Muslims - if anything, they're completely on their side.

Synagogues and mosques are in cities. Official festivals and days of rest are according to the christian calendar. So yes, there is a christian establishment, even if it is secular, the foundation is christian, it is christian-secular, not jewish-secular, or muslim-secular. Yousee what I mean ? And the hatred toward brit-milah and sh'hita is very christian. I'm sorry if it hurts, but that's the situation on the ground, maybe not for that long, but this is another story... ;-)

When they finally realize that they are suppose to "all" be Christians, then I'll listen. As it is, I am not impressed with two bullies defending their right to fight. It's ridiculous! There are different Christianities. The Copts in Egypt and the Ethiopian Orthodox, for example, circumcise on the 8th day and have dietary laws very similar to kashrut. European "Christians" , on the other hand, are for the most part Greco-Roman pagans like they have always been. Remember, the "hatred toward brit milah and shi'ita" predates Christianity (which was originally Jewish), and is mostly a Euro pagan thing.
