Obama has become the expression and rallying point of a great number of post-modernists and their vision of a secular society psychologically and culturally detached from the idea that there's a Creator involved in human affairs. During the past four years he has been consistent with this world-view. That's a curious phenomenon for someone that due to his origins also has a deep latent affinity for Islam.
