3. Why does he write about Rosh ha Shana
David ,   On this planet   (09.16.12)
Just like his father he does not believe in God, the Bible or the Jewish History. So why does he pretend of being Jewish or writes about Jewish Holidays. He is the product of the Israeli Jewish secular myth

12. I don't care who you are;
SD Charger ,   San Diego   (09.17.12)
if you read the Bible / Torah and can't see Yahweh IS the story, along with whom HE chose to tell it, and still believe HE is a myth, you might want to study it again. There was a beginning, a middle and there will be an ending. The G-d of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob has foretold us things and they have come to pass, whether you think HE is a myth or not! His mercy is new every morning.
13. He does believe in God, #3
Vered, Israel   (09.17.12)
He just doesn't have God confused with Rabbinic nonsense.

18. Around the table, are these people normal?
Michael ,   California, USA   (09.17.12)
Do they live and let live, get along, are accepted and contributing? Or do they think of themselves as better, as chosen, and are misunderstood all the time? It is better to be normal, and it's the way to survive.
19. Jews...nuclear weapons, or peace and democracy in Palestine?
Steven Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (09.18.12)

Dennis ,   Nj USA   (09.18.12)
Steve Not sure what the relevance of your stupid comment was to this article, but...if and when the IDF does an action in Iran, I hope that one of its missiles goes off course and knocks your anti-Semitic ass all the way from Minn to gypip!
21. #20 right back at you, idiot!!!!!!!!!!!!
KB ,   CHGO   (09.19.12)
22. To Yair Lapid
II ,   Israel   (09.19.12)
Nice article, but you have to realise that most religious families get together on Shabbats and all holidays, not just Rosh HaShana. One other point: while secular Jewish families remain Jewish while in Israel, they usually disappear as Jews after a couple of generations in the Galut nowadays.
23. why is Lapid still getting an oportunity to spew his drivle
zionist forever   (09.19.12)
Now Lapid is officially a candidate at the next elections then it is wrong to let him tell us all nice little stories designed of course to make us all like him a little bit more on election day. You want to let Lapid have his say why not publish articles written by Bibi, Barak, Mofaz or Shelly Yachimovich ? I am sure if the opportunity was given they would all think of something to say.
24. We share a story.
Basya ,   Safed, Israel   (09.19.12)
We don't share much religiously, politically, or I'd bet even economically. But we share a story of being here in Israel.

zionist forever   (09.19.12)
The answer is ... its all part of his election campaign. Lapid's target voter is the middle class, secular Jew and alot of the people who read his articles on here are just that. I doubt Lapid beleves in God or if he does he certainly has no time for religion. Most of his target voters whilst secular have not actualy rejected religion outright so Lapid comes along talks about Rosh Hashana and hey he is still a God fearing man just not a religious one. Lapid reminds me of Saddam Hussain when it comes to his self serving attitudes to religion. Saddam Hussain didn't care about Islam he cared about Saddam Hussain but when it suited him for PR he went and prayed at a mosque with the tv cameras. Yair Lapid doesn't care about Judaism but if it will help his election chances he wants to be a good Jew. Lapids entire campaign is based on celebraty & anti religion everything else is smoke an mirrors.

zionist forever   (09.19.12)
At least Barak is a professional politician that wants to run the country as a whole and has ideas. Lapid is like Shas & all the other single issue parties, he doesn't care about the country as a whole only his own political ambitions. Depressing thing is alot of people are going to vote for this shmuck and it wouldn't even surprise me if the man ended up as PM with the people angry about Bibi raising taxes but don't like Labor. He might just be seen as a good alternative to many on the right & centre.
27. nice
Little Miss Muffett ,   Sitting on a Tuffett   (09.19.12)
I'm mystified by some of the negative talkbacks. I'm an American and don't know anything about Mr. Lapid's politics, but I thought the article was touching and provoked introspection. (Handsome fellow, too!)
