The last thing Iran wants or can afford is a war with the U.S. Regarding red lines or ultimatums, leaders have certainly done this in the past & Netanyahu is not being unreasonable. Notably, JFK's ultimatum to the USSR during the Cuban missile crisis prevented the USSR from having nuclear missile just miles from the U.S.
