4. Support the journalists
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (09.23.12)
The journalists want to cancel the purchase because they don't like the identity and opinions of tmr. Ben-Zvi. I support the journalists: they should not lose their dignity and be forced to sell their souls for money. Cancel the sale. Let Ma'ariv die a graceful death. People who want to out their Leftist views still have Yediot, Haaretz, Jerusalem Post, Reshet B and Galatz.
5. #4 Good point but other considerations
Dave ,   Shiloh Israel   (09.24.12)
You made a valid point, journalists should have freedom of expression within reasonable limits. However, it would be a shame for so many other workers to lose their jobs over a political mess? It would also be welcoming for more Israelis to adopt a less extreme attitude to Jews just on account of happening to live in a disputed area. I'm all for sharing views and hope the new Maariv can allow for that. Even Yediot with Ynews allows a healthy mix. Nobody has mentioned placing gag orders on journalists in this take over. However, as much as I'm a socialist when it comes to supporting Jewish rights to earn a living, regardless of political orientation, I also think it's time for left wing media supporters to remember that the original Israeli left were more pro-Zionist and settler oriented then these new left wing imposters. Shalom, my friend TA makes a nice view from our Shomron hills...let's keep it in friendly hands!
