Emanuel was one of those who at the outset of Obama's term suggested that Israel be one- sidedly pressured. This caused harm not only in Israel- U.S. relations but also in the Peace process, if there was such a thing. Emanuel with the former Israeli father has not , so far as I know, contributed in any significant way to enhance Israel's standing in the U.S.

The last thing Rahm would do is help Netanyahu. Rahm has never made a secret that he supports "Americans for Peace Now" and hates Netanyahu. Some commentators have said that Obama's failed MiddleEast policy came from Rahm's fanatical hatred for Netanyahu.
