2. Most of the Brits I know speak their mind
Ben ,   UK/Israel   (10.06.12)
and openly say they are for Israel. They actually do realilze what our enemies are up to, dont beleive the paliphoto shoots and certainly dont want their tax money going to support asylum seekers. You wont find too mush political correctness from the regular joe on the street and how many times have I been asked "why does Israel put up with being shelled.
3. The answers you get depend
Tomek ,   Poland   (10.06.12)
on the questions you ask. Most Brits could not locate Israel on the map, let alone have any knowledge about mistreatment of the Palestinians in Israel proper and the occupied territories. 1. Should Israeli artists, whose predecessors were prosecuted by the Nazi Germany, be prohibited from performing in the UK? 2. Should Israeli artists be prohibited from performing in the UK? 3. Given the apartheid policies of Israel, should its artists be banned from performing in the UK? What question gets asked depends on who pays for the survey (the Jewish Chronicle of Britain in this case). It would be idiotic for the sponsor to pay for the answer he does not desire. Unfortunately, the piece does not say what question was actually asked.
4. #3 The paper would love to report BAD news, sorry that they
(10.06.12)
have not..
5. UK citizens are very much aware of
Sue ,   Tel Aviv   (10.06.12)
what we're up against regarding Arab violence. Since they have also encountered terrorist activities (and are now finally delighted to be rid of Abu Hamsa) , I find them more empathetic to Israel. Quite simply they're fed up too.
6. polski tomek#3
Zvi ,   YERUSHALAIM,ISRAEL   (10.06.12)
tomek #3 keeps polish pigs tradition alive.what a low life
7. Most of the Irish I know speak their mind
Arik ,   Dublin   (10.06.12)
and openly say they support Israel. It's only the media and some fanatic Sinn Fein lunatics that make the wrong impression
8. @ Tomek.What a load of rubbish
Mairi ,   Glasgow   (10.07.12)
"Most Brits could not locate Israel on the map" Get your facts right before you spout your rubbish. Many and I mean many, know where Israel is on the map and support Israel. Israel is the one true democracy in the middle east. Perhaps you read "The Guardian too much..........
9. It is the bullies who make all the ruckus in the UK
EST ,   Miami USA   (10.07.12)
Unless the majority refrains from being silent, the bullies will get all the media attention they crave - which suits their needs.
10. Boycotters
Sherlock Holmes ,   London England   (10.07.12)
The saddest bit of the various attempts to organise anti-Israel boycotts in the UK is that Israeli academics and other Jews are so conspicuous in the loony Left. The same people who condemn every Israeli group appearing in the UK said nothing about nations with poor human rights records coming to London for the Olympic Games. Regimes that hang gays and forbid women to be unveiled in public were welcome with no complaints.
11. Reply to 2 from 'Joe on the street'!
Joe ,   London England   (10.07.12)
Britain was plagued for many years by Irish terrorists and has been under attack by Islamists of late. We're not naive. Islamists don't like non-Muslims and groups like alQaeda, Hezbollah, Hamas, Jihad are not 'good news'. Thank G-d most Anglo-Muslims also have no time for extremists.
12. Number 5 Abu Hamza
Sherlock Holmes ,   London England   (10.07.12)
Not only are Brits fed up, the media breached protocal and reported that H M The Queen was pressing for Abu Hamza to be deported from the UK. It should have said 'reliable sources' as royal etiquette does not allow one to attribute directly to the Queen.
13. Reply to number 3. Tomek
Joseph ,   London UK   (10.07.12)
From about 1920 to 1948 Israel/Palestine was governed by Britain and many Brits served in the armed forces in Israel/Palestine. If some Brits can't find it that could be because Israel on the world map is microscopic. I've beenh teaching in Britain for 40 years, including several Church of England schools and I've never encountered anti-Israel or anti-Jewish behaviour. The Middle East is generally not a topic of great interest.
14. no citizens in UK....
Bluegrass Picker ,   Afula   (10.08.12)
...they are subjects of the Crown. There is not a single guaranted human right nor civil right.
15. To No.14
Bertram ,   London, UK   (10.09.12)
You need to get up to date. There has in fact been British citizenship since 1983; 'subject of the Crown' no longer exists.
