What question gets asked depends on who pays for the survey (the Jewish Chronicle of Britain in this case). It would be idiotic for the sponsor to pay for the answer he does not desire. From about 1920 to 1948 Israel/Palestine was governed by Britain and many Brits served in the armed forces in Israel/Palestine. If some Brits can't find it that could be because Israel on the world map is microscopic. I've beenh teaching in Britain for 40 years, including several Church of England schools and I've never encountered anti-Israel or anti-Jewish behaviour. The Middle East is generally not a topic of great interest.
