the cars are sh*tty. I know most Americans will not pay 40K for a small sh*t french car when you can buy a Dodge charger/Ford mustang or a basic SUV like a Ford Explorer and actually save money. You would have to be a green nut to by one of those cars and now with the money woes public, I would think twice about putting 2 nickels into a company that has more of a chance to fail than to succeed.

Thanks to people like Sheik the world is in the situation it is. I am often surprised of the huge lack of awarness that is in the US regarding global warming. Everyone just ones a bigger car. Maybe this is one of the reasons why the US never signs any enviromental treat. They are expecting the whole word to reduce, while they keep contaminating. Too bad!!

few months back in a previouse email i predicted the fall of better place... it was from the start an unsound idea , creating a new type of monopoly by forcing people to stick with one company and charging an incredible amount of money by kilometer.... driving a tesla car and charging it yourself at home driving 50 km a day would cost less than 300 nis if compare to what better place would ask you to paid, it doesn't make sense and it is greedy....and not smart!

Fact is technology is not at a stage where electric cars can be viable. There is only one car that is compatible with the Better Place battery exchange system. The battery life is nothing to boast about and you probably get better milage from a motor scooter than an electric car. It is illegal to charge you car at home and you can't keep a spare battery in the back of the car incase the one your using runs dry before you can find a charging station. charging stations are not out in the remote areas of the country so your going on a long journey and you run out of juice your going to have a long walk home. If there is a long lasting power cut what happens at the charging stations? If electric prices go up nationwide then so will the price to charge your battery so your not even making big savings by using an electrc car. Until electric technology improves hybrid is the future and the government should reduce taxes for the import of hybrid cars and increase the tax on regular cars. Good for the environment, good for drivers, involves minimal set up cost.

Nothing wrong at all with the logic ...of auto battery switching BP are now at the forefront of battery switching technology...but perhaps we need to relook at the business model The revenue stream has been based on an overcomplex formula....almost assuming a niche market.. But you only have to read the Talkbaks and talk to satisfied users..that what is wanted is a simple Pay as You Go charging much like petrol perhaps with an Initial Charge for the BP Battery and a Deposit At every battery switching the customer pays a price that is going to demonstrate and reflect a siginficant saving against its petrol or diesel equivalent Clearly without other mileage charges etc BPs break even rises significantly...BUT offset by a much much higher roll out as a result You dont have to be a mathematician to calculate based on potential battery swtiches per car per year just how profitable a business BE could be Just simplify the product offer and pay per switch Roll out in volume

And the company did nothing for years. Then a new Board brought him back and he captained the company to its greatest heights. The same will probably happen here. It may take several years, but Shai will be back in the Captain's chair.
