2. Beware the enemy within!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (10.04.12)
We seem to forget that there are a lot of "terrorist" sympathizers and Palestinian supporters in the country, particularly in the Galilee! Netanyahu and his self-survival policy is only interested in himself and appeasing people like Yishai and to ensure this, he is giving the Ultra-Orthodox everything instead of investing in our internal security at home and on our borders. The threats from the north and within are far more dangerous than Iran thousands of kilometers away!
3. Israel needs a new law
(10.04.12)
People convicted of espionage will lose their Israeli citizenship, all state benefits and will considered stateless and allowed to live in Israel only on a permit basis, to be renewed in person every year.

5. Why espionage?
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (10.04.12)
Why not treason? He acquired information for Hezbollah, a terrorist organization which has openly stated that its goal is the destruction of the State of Israel. Doesn't get much more treasonous than that .... and if you want to keep it from happening again, all it will take is one hanging, which is the prescribed penalty for treason. Far too many Israeli Arabs are playing fast and loose, both in terms of rhetoric and in actual fact. They represent a serious threat to the security of the State of Israel, they give aid and comfort to Israel's sworn enemies and they provide those enemies with critical and crucial information. They need to be taken down a peg. They can disagree with Israeli politics -- heaven knows there's no shortage of disagreement among Israeli Jews -- there is no problem with that. But espionage? Treason? Unacceptable, and must be dealt with harshly.

About two days ago, Sarah B commented on this Arab taxi driver and YNet posted many, many readers comments on Sarah's racialistic hate towards Arabs. It is now time for all these so-called "judges" to apologise to her in writing.
9. crimes against the state should cost citizenship
zionist forever   (10.04.12)
Anybody who commits a crime against the state should be stripped of their citizenship. Jew or arab loss of citizenship should be part of the punishment even if we can't deport them they should be denied their rights as citizens. In the case of the arab lets also deport him to Hamastan once he gets out of jail.

12. #10USA &Israel were not at war, Pollard didn't aid the ENEMY
Netanya ,   Netanya   (10.04.12)
Aiding an enemy is not the same as spying on your ally...seems you don't know the difference. Was pollard trying to get info on weapons in usa to use them to kill Americans? Your comment is moronic..think before you write next time
13. Arab version of jonathan pollard.

zionist forever   (10.04.12)
Legally under American law Pollard committed an act of treachery no doubt about that but what were his motives and what there the motives of the arab? Pollard was not passing information onto Israel in order to harm America and the information he did pass on was for the most part things that directly concerned Israel like Saddam Hussain's military capabilities etc which was information the US had but did not share with Israel. This arab was committing an act of treachery by passing information onto an enemy of the state with the intent to harm the state. In the eyes of the law Pollard & this arab are the same but when it comes to morality and motive they are both very different.
15. #9 Loss of Citizenship isn't enough
BEN JABO (MACHAL) ,   ISRAEL   (10.04.12)
