31. Iron Dome didn't fail it was not designed for UAVS
zionist forever   (10.07.12)
Whilst Iron Dome is hyped up by Israeli politicians & the media in this case it did't fail because its not designed to shoot down UAVS. Iron Dome is designed for dealing with short range rockets like katushas. Whilst it can shoot down UAVS Arrow is meant for dealing with ballistic. missile and at $1 million a shot I doubt that anybody wanted to use an Arrow to shoot down a slow moving UAV. David's Sling is in the late development stage and the purpose of that is to shoot down cruise missiles & UAVS. Each system is designed for dealing with a specific threat its not one size fits all.
32. AMERICAN DRONE
DAVID ASLESON ,   MINNEAPOLS USA   (10.07.12)
A American Drone was captured by IRANIANS. THIS WAS ONE OF AMERICANS MOST ADVANCED.
33. Israel wastes money on the salaries of
jason white ,   afula, israel   (10.07.12)
ehud buraq and benny gantz. Not to mention giving money to non Zionists and those that never served in the I.D.F. Better the money should be used for the defense budget. Why not have a couple of Israeli made kamikaze drones flying over Israel 24/7? Maybe they can be programmed to hit other drones?
34. gifts
gene ,   ny.usa   (10.07.12)
im very sad due to the failure of israeli government in seeing such a threat as possible. hope that next drone or perhaps hundreds of them at once containing gifts from thy neighbors will be dealt accordingly .though i dought it very much. also ynet pls dont ban my post its only fair if i dont offend noone i shall be able to express my views here freely
35. drone shot down
howard banks ,   boca rato,fl .usa   (10.07.12)
shows Israel is on alert 24/7
36. Looks like our technology is now caught up to you!!
Salma ,   Gaza   (10.07.12)
37. Drone?
Duncan Druhl ,   Barrie, Ontario   (10.07.12)
No wonder Iran is yakking it up. It may have been their only one, put back together after they were allowed to have one by the friendly BO administration in the US.
38. #8 You know what ?
Yossef   (10.07.12)
sometimes I'm fed up with some comments and I send a offending talkback, just for decompressing. Then I am happy that Ynet prevents it to be published. I use that as a therapy, try it :-)
39. Maybe it is just incitement - Iranian style
barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (10.07.12)
40. to #9 and all those
daniela ,   panama   (10.07.12)
Americans that think that their taxes are spent on Israel. First they are not spent only on Israel, but all over the world. At least in israel you have an ally. In Egypt, Lybia, Pakistan etc.. you waste your money on people that would like to kill you every day. I would like also to tell you that this is the price to be the most powerfull nation in the world have to pay to be in that poistion. Your money buy that postion, when you finance all kinds of interests. It happened in history to every empire and to every nation that wanted to achieve power.. how many billions Russia spend in in East Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America after world war 2? how much money the british and the french and the romans spent to dominate the world. Power does not come for free..
41. hahaha...Israel is turning into a paper tiger...
Marco ,   Spain   (10.07.12)
42. This wasn't a rocket, but a low-apability...
Scott ,   USA   (10.07.12)
jet-powered UAV, a slow-moving cruise missile. It did NOT have satellite communications capability (note the lack of dome in front) and probably couldn't provide much more detail than could be gleamed from Google.
43. 36
(10.07.12)
maybe the suicide belts, salma???? you are ridiculous.
44. #15
Malcolm Blankenship ,   USA   (10.07.12)
Agreed. All that money going to isreal gone as well. Now in Chinese and therefore in Iran and North Korea's hands in the form of tech. How does it feel to indirectly support the people who allegedly want you dead you greedy fools.
45. This shows how far the Muslim world has fallen....
Dan ,   Tel-Aviv   (10.07.12)
Once again, Iran, like Arab states across the region.....attempt to turn every development related to Israel as a victory. This just shows how far the Muslim world has fallen and in the end, they will continue to fail because they have no urgency to improve. With no self-accountability; Israel will continue to prosper and strengthen as they continue to suck their oil. Once it runs out.....good luck developing a military by selling carpets.
46. #36. YOUR technology???
A ,   Belgium   (10.07.12)
How dare you take credit for something that has nothing to do with you! The same as your claim that"palestine" belongs to the "palestinians". You have NOTHING! No land, no culture, no history, no NOTHING! Not even the technology to build a drone, which the "Persians" succeeded in building. Just crawl back into your Hamas controlled hole and await some more monetary handouts from the fools in the US and EU!
47. #10 Right you are! As usual, he didn't do enough!
A ,   Belgium   (10.07.12)
48. re 36
nigel ,   London   (10.07.12)
Wow Salma, All we hear in the West is of poor starving Palestinains suffering from chronic lack of food, no electricity, no hospitals etc etc. You claim to have the money and techical ability to make sophisticated drones. Must write to my Prime Minister to ask him to stop wasting UK tax payer money on Palestinians who clearly desire to spend it on war rather than food for its starving people. Turn swords into ploughshears not the otherway round and perhaps you and Israel could have some peace. Keep arming yourselves and prepare for more war and hatred. Or, is it really the case that there is no starvation, no poverty and you are just a bunch of liars ?
49. Iron Dome?
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (10.07.12)
So much for Iranian "expertise." Drones don't fly in a trajectory, and they don't fly particularly fast. Not something which Iron Dome is designed to detect and suppress. But if that is demonstrable of Iranian "knowledge" about missile defense systems .... what the hell are we waiting for? Just as a bit of a tune-up -- might be nice to turn off the lights in Teheran for a day or two. Teach the mullahs a little lesson they won't soon forget. Of course, that would affect refrigeration. Sorry about all the spoiled food -- which will drive food costs higher -- and which might result in the people of Iran taking to the streets. On second thought, perhaps Israel should turn the lights out in Teheran, Isfahan, Qum and Bandar Abbas. For a week. Then we'll see how quick they'll be to have Hezbollah launch a drone over Israel. Don't forget: Teheran says "jump!" -- Nasrallah says "how high?" No sense in dealing with the slave; deal with the slave master. That would be the Islamic Republic.
50. To: No. 41
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (10.07.12)
Hey, how are things going in bankrupt Spain? Fifty percent unemployment, eh? With no one to bail you out. Ha, ha, ha!
51. To: No. 36
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (10.07.12)
Tell you what, dear. We'll stop providing Gaza with free electricity and free fresh water. We'll stop sending you tens of thousands of metric tons of free food and humanitarian aid each week. We'll stop allowing you access to free advanced medical care in Israel. Then come back and tell us all about your "technology."
52. small drones are a problem, but it doesn't mean much
My2Cents ,   USA   (10.07.12)
Small drones are hard to do anything about because their size means they are hard to detect and hard to engage. By the same token, small size means short range, lower speeds, and hardly any BANG in a warhead, if there is room and weight for one.
53. #41 Marco and alike should read more
Iranian Jew ,   LA   (10.08.12)
Iron Dome will not act until the path of the missile is set on a target. It is used to shoot down set trajectories. IAF flew along side of this drone and decided to shoot it down on a desert and not a populated area. You have lots of time on our hand being unemployed in Spain. Why don't you use this time and do a little more research and thinking?
54. dull can u read?
isaac ,   mx   (10.08.12)
Whats the point of activating a defense system if they r willingly letting it it? simple as that...the rest u can figure out i guess...if not...read more articles and learn the diference between a missile and a drone....
55. RE: Israel is backed by

56. Iran should admit how many Israeli drones fly over Iran
Dan ,   Israel   (10.08.12)
Losers.
57. #9 New York Loner.
PaulS ,   Liverpool UK   (10.08.12)
you need to get out more often and breath some fresh air :-)
58. #36 Salma, Gaza
MR   (10.08.12)
Your technology? You managed to build a drone that can stay in the air, which is easy. (well, not you, but whoever). You can talk about technology when that drone can actually do something. Judging from the fact that the Israelis allowed it to fly for 20-30 min before putting it down, the drone might have been inoffensive. By the way, Salma, have you tried flying a kite? There, your technology may equal ours.
59. iron dome
judy varod ,   israel   (10.08.12)
@9 Israel does more to serve American interests than the US does for Israel. Firstly, according to the agreement between Israel and the US, 1) all money received by Israel must be spent exclusively on American products so the American "tax payer" benefits 2) The funding is in return for Israeli technology . America couldn't wait to get its hands on the Iron Dome. If you ask me, the US is getting off cheaply.
60. Censorship here
new_york_loner ,   Rochester, NY   (10.09.12)
Yesterday, I replied to my many detractors on this board...but my response was not published...this is typical of the Israeli state-controlled media outlets...and the Israelis have the chutzpah to claim that Israelis and Americans share "core values"....you folks have a long, long way to go....why are you Zionists so afraid of constructive criticism?
