1. So Turkey can but Israel can't!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (10.10.12)
Turkey forces down a civilian airliner that they "think" is carrying weapons from Putin's Russia and that's OK. Turkey sends a ship with KNOWN terrorists on board and who try to kill Israeli soldiers boarding the terrorist financed Mavi Marmara in terms of International Law and Edogan and Turkey accuse Israel of war crimes! Double standards but Netanyahu and Barak STILL allow trade withe the back-stabbing Turks who cried JEWS OUT and have never acknowledged responsibility for the Armenian Genocide! Definitely time for a new Government in Israel that doesn't insult our soldiers, as Barak would do, by apologizing to the Turks.
2. Come on useful idiots lets hear the "piracy""illegal" chorus
PETER SM ,   MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA   (10.10.12)
from the group think collective
3. I read that some pro-palestinian people
Turkish citizen   (10.10.12)
and media say that this is turkish piracy... It reminds me of the Marmara incident... well, we deserve it...
4. Turkey shud apologise to Russia/Syria (like Mavimarmara)
Alan ,   SA   (10.11.12)
5. What does syria need with missile parts?
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (10.11.12)
6. SO WHAT???
les ,   canada   (10.11.12)
what else did you expect from putin's soviet union? of course, this puts erdogan in to a sticky little situation too :)).
7. Well, isn't that flotilla-sterical!
Andy ,   Washington, DC   (10.11.12)
8. russia?
isaac ,   mexico   (10.11.12)
So russia demands an explanation? simple...explain why the hell r u sending weapons thru civilian airplanes? what the hell is going on why doesnt anyone directtly asks the russians what is so important in syria that makes them support a regime that is killing people by the thosands with the guns they are supllying? somone has to face russia now,and since the us doesnt have the balls niether th eun,i hope turkey demands an answer!
9. What Will Abbas Do Next?
Noah Lev ,   LosAngelesUSA   (10.11.12)
Double talk and double think seems a permanent fixture in the violent M.E. Whats good for the goose and whose ox is being gored are appropriate statements. Will NATO aid Turkey in its fight with Syria and erhaps Russia? Is this really intended to senda message to Wahshington and Israel? Missile part s fo Syria, why? They arent using missiles or so they say. And will not use WMD on their own people, just outsiders, like the Jews (Israel). or the West. Assad can win this battle, but what kind of victory? With Iranian/Russian help, he will outlast the rebels..then have to control a very, very hostile people. Where is Egypt in all this? Does it side with Assad or the rebels? Will Israel somehow be sucked into the fray by Hez? And how does our election count..if anything? Where does Romney stand vs Obama who has no stance? And then there is Jordan...always stradling the fence? Will the Pales throughout the area make mischief?
10. Well we can say
David ,   On this planet   (10.11.12)
That Turkey knows how to defend her country, compare to the Israeli government who keeps apologizing every time they defend their nation. Why aren't we united and what happened to our pride.
11. Good job Turkey!
sk ,   USA   (10.11.12)
Now allow Israel do the same thing!!!! Get it????
12. so, erdo can impose his own blockade?
rick ,   walnut creek   (10.11.12)
everyone knows that erdo is petulant infant. but, his recent behavior gives duplicity and mendacity a bad name. he gets to retaliate, disproportionately, to an invasion of turkish territory, and he gets to impose his own blockade (not because of any attacks on turkey, but because he has taken sides in the syrian civil war). but the freedoms he grants himself (against NO threat to the turkish nation) he denies to Israel against her mortal enemies. he is, in all senses, an ugly, petulant, little man.
13. Oh, how things have changed!
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (10.11.12)
Katz' and Hendel's "Israel vs. Iran" describes an incident from a few years ago when Israeli intelligence warned Turkey that an Iranian plane was carrying military cargo intended for Syria. But it's suspected someone in Turkey warned Iran and no such cargo was found. Then again, back then Turkey was allied to Syria under its "no problems" policy toward neighbors. Not any longer.
14. Good Job Turkey!
Avi Yisraeli ,   Modiin, Israel   (10.11.12)
It's too bad though that relations between Turkey and Israel have soured under the Edogan government. Differences aside, our countries have have more in common, and more to gain from bilateral relations than any two nations in the region.
15. Russia is dangerous for world's security
Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (10.11.12)
As it was so since centuries. Present Russia is a little bit too sized, a lot of non russians live in opression. Tartars, bashkirs, yakuts, buryats and at least a hundred other peoples desire independence. But of course not a single voice about it in the UNO headquarter in New York.
16. I like the answer of this German Scholar when he was asked a
Mohammed ,   Hyderabad, India   (10.11.12)
I like the answer of this German Scholar when he was asked about terrorism and Islam: He said: · Who started the First World War, which killed 37 million and injured 22, 379, 053 that includes 7 million civilians? Muslims? · Who started the Second World War, which killed over 60 million, which was over 2.5% of the world population? Muslims? · Who killed about 20 million of Aborigines in Australia? Muslims? · Who drop the nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which killed 166,000 people in Hiroshima and 80,000 in Nagasaki? Muslims? · Who killed more than 100 million Red Indians in North America? Muslims? · Who killed more than 50 million Indian in South America? Muslims? · Who took about 180 million African people as slaves and when 88% of them died, threw them into the Atlantic Ocean? Muslims? NO They weren’t Muslims! First of all, you have to define terrorism properly…. If a non-Muslim does something bad… it is crime. But if a Muslim commits the same, he is a terrorist. So first remove the double standard… then come to the point. *** Just for your information ***
17. No.16 - the only difference is the past & present
Jew1 ,   Ashdod   (10.11.12)
You are right that all these killings were not done by muslims. They were done by other people on the name of religion or suriority or sperading their borders etc. They all are our past now. They were the terrorist or the reasons for those times. In today's time, the reason is muslims. You can not deny that. We see these killings as far as the history goes (including nepolian, alexander and all those muslim kings who attacked India from 900 centurary till 1400 centuary). But in today's time the muslims are wearing this "killing crown". The difference is my forfathers faced those difficult times in the past and now it is me and my children who are facing these terrorist today. I want to survive today and not in the past.
18. #16 you almost made your point
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (10.11.12)
You almost made your point until you asked about the millions of black African slaves. The answer is yes, it was Muslims who were the greatest slave traders in history, selling to Europeans but even more to Arabia. Until 1962, 20% of the Saudi population were officially slaves. And of course, let's not forget the "hideous trade".
19. #8 what you are missing
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (10.11.12)
What you are missing is that Putin was scheduled to visit Turkey on Sunday to deepen ties but now the trip has been cancelled, and Erdogan is starting to directly militarily intervene to genocide the Alawi and impose Sunni rule in Syria. Slapping Russia in the face and publically changing the Syrian civil war to a Sunni invasion is a scary move, and some would say, of questionable wisdom. The problem for Turkey is that while Putin and the Iranians are great strategists, Erdogan is an arrogant blowhard.
20. # 18 Israel israeli If I might add
Big bad Jew ,   United States   (10.11.12)
America fought her own civil war to free the slaves and to end this barbaric practice that endures to this day in the same places you mentioned. The Saudis sponsor official religious bigotry and anti semitism via their madras's. The same slave owners that stone women, make slaves of their orphans, chop off hands, and refuse women any rights whatsoever as they also promote female circumcision. Now, I ask you, what female wouldn't opt for that??? Not funny but, you get my point. #16 also neglected to mention that Japan struck first, without warning or provocation and, the A bombs dropped on Japan also saved an estimated one million allied troops lives. Ignore the troll he/she is still a rank amateur.
21. Mohammad from Hyderabad
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (10.11.12)
Here questions for you? Who attacked Vienna Austria two times applying devastating blockades to the city for an extend time allowing the civilian population to die from starvation and diseases? Ottoman Muslims? Who attacked the Eastern Roman Empire in bloody wars of expansion? Ottoman Muslims? Who invaded the Arabic peninsula in bloody wars domination the Arab nations for centuries until the British came to liberate them? Ottoman Muslim brothers? Who expelled millions of their non-Muslim (Armenian) population to an exile where thousands died in brutal winter conditions? I guess you already know the answer. But here is another question for you since you are in India. Who attacked the Mumbai hotel only a year ago killing many innocent bystanders? talk about double standard, how about your selective memory?
22. Job well done Turkey, Bravo.
Yosi   (10.11.12)
Good job, too bad you don't want to work with Israel.
