1. Mr. Litzman, dead people are not worried live ones need cure
Miron ,   USA   (10.16.12)
Please do revert your decision. Based on the article it seems to me doctor was most concerned about collecting tissue samples for medical research. Given that he had never abused in any way people who are alive this seems like an case that crossed line of benefit for the living. It's hard to expect any doctor acting any differently. Doctors are not "keepers of the dead" and applying such responcibility on a doctor, whose call is to find cures for living, is inhumane.
2. Dudu Topaz must be cloned!!!

3. if the complains are true, then
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (10.16.12)
Professor Hiss is not a fool; he knows well the Jewish law pertaining to burial. If it is true that he did what he did, then he caused anguish to many Jewish families for no legal reason. No person should do these things especially a man in such a high and responsible position. I hope it is not true.
4. Complaints against Prof Hiss are not new
Jonathan C ,   Jerusalem Israel   (10.16.12)
Complaints of this kind have been made against Prof. Hiss for over 20 years and the establishment has turned a blind eye to the pain of people to whom this matters deeply. Glad to hear that at long last a clear message has been sent.
5. Snakes hiss!

6. Finally !!!
Yisraeli   (10.16.12)
What the hell did it have to take to get rid of this parasite Hiss. His bad reputation for lies and cover ups go back decades yet he remained there like a bad smell in the mortuary that never leaves. This guy was bad news already 20 years ago from memory. Finally they got rid of him, but the bigger question is WHY THE HELL DID IT TAKE SO LONG! what 'protekzia' did this guy have? Could it be, dare I say it, the Rabin secret that isnt so secret anymore. He was in the thick of it with first hand knowledge.
7. Why an investigative committee?
David Olesker ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (10.16.12)
"Senior ministry officials wondered why Litzman decided to set up an investigative committee rather that fire Hiss on the spot. 'Hiss has caused so much damage, there is not need for an investigative committee in order to fire him,' one of them told Ynet at the time. " The answer is simple; Litzman is Haradi and could not be seen to be acting against Hiss without a full investigation. Hiss has been acting as if he thought he were G-d for decades. At last someone was willing to stand up against him.
8. #1 Miron, Prof. Hiss abused his position for decades.
Roman ,   Lod, Israel   (10.16.12)
When there weren't clear regulations, he went between the lines and collected tissues samples, knowing full well that he was deliberately going against the wishes of the families *and* against the legitimate legal needs of pathologic investigation. When there *were* clear rules defined, due primarily to complaints against Hiss's misconduct and faulty leadership, he *still* went against the rules whenever possible. The living care about the harm brought to the remains of their loved ones. And the living are hurt mentally, not just physically - and that mental anguish is something that Prof. Hiss very much brought about, clearly and deliberately, probably reasoning that the ends justified the means. This behavior cannot be excused. This reasoning cannot be excused. He was not a doctor faced with the difficult choices of how to save a life before him. He is a medical pathologist, and he had no right to abuse the public trust and the families of the bereaved in this manner. Miron... perhaps you don't know but, in Judaism, the whole body is buried, and it is meant to be buried whole. And to spit on that in the most difficult of times for those families, and to bring up the pain and anguish of it later when the misdeeds are revealed... Good intentions just don't cut it here.
9. @3 when you have sore throat, do you go for cure to graves?
Miron ,   USA   (10.16.12)
Stop harrassing my nation beliefs with your arrogant interpretations.
10. #1 know the facts
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (10.16.12)
Hiss and his workers illegally gathered "samples" from dead people and SOLD them to the highest bidder. Worst, Hiss gave false testimony in a number of court cases. Firing Hiss took too long. Twelve years ago, Edna Arbel decided not to fire Hiss. Some people suggest it was the fear that everyone convicted based on Hiss' testimony would (justifiably) demand a retrial.
