How can we get Israel on board with such an important initiative! It's painful to see how many people here are not concerned with this issue, esp at supermarkets - and esp when alternatives are not so difficult to obtain and use. Let's start a national campaign!
2. let's not get stupid, too

Environment is important, but let's not cut off our nose to spite our face. Hati is ruining its self on a small item, let us consider the cost to our country before embarking on a stupid project such as this. BTW, I was in USA last year and went to a store. They asked me if I wanted a paper bag or plastic. So I asked what is the difference. The bagger replied, the paper bags cause people to cut down valuable trees while the plastic cause landfill problems. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. I told him I'll take both.

Why didn't you take none? Just bring your own bag with you.

but insufficient. Maybe the plastics' production should be banned worldwide.
5. Litter solution

Any problem can be solved by making the penalties high enough. If dropping a candy bar wrapper or anything else on the ground were made a capital offense, the trash problem would go away.

I wonder what kind of agricultural waste was used to produce a "light brown" food container....... Perhaps to make the food more tasty.....
7. For #2 Larry

That was a poor explanation. Trees are renewable, and they grow special trees useless for anything else, as well as using much recycled paper. Which is why they're always brown. Plastic bags are made from non-remewable resources and shoudn't be.
