salmon grow in streams and rivers and head into the sea after undergoing smoltification. This is obviously a fraud. If the intention was to promote algae growth then it would also be a failure. Releasing into an open system means there is no control over which species uptakes the nutrient loads. There are harmful algal species in an open system as well. (red tide may ring a few bells) The entire idea is unscientific and dangerous. The people who did such a thing should be taken to court.
