My husband is an Israeli living in New Zealand, I have often broached the subject of us moving to Israel and he is against it, he earns good money in NZ, our kids have a great life, we own a house and have everything at our finger tips,(except cheap travel) He has never experienced anti Semitism here, and we live a good life. We are in Israel now on vacation and this trip especially have found everything a drama, from getting a phone sim card to work properly or even to find a place to top it up, from the incredibly rude people in stores, petrol stations, boutiques, etc... I am a huge advocate of Israel and love it here, but this time round I really have found it trying at times especially the rudeness of people who are trying to make money who dont think it is rude to smoke and talk on the phone while you are trying to pay for something or ask about something you want to purchase....a smile goes a long way!!! Getting to the graffiti on the tombstones....disgusting to say the least, but this does not reflect the general tone of the population, the acts of one or two idiots does not deem the nation anti Semitic , it just proves there are idiot uneducated thugs in every nation .. including NZ and Israel. NZ is not perfect, like most nations...and as someone here said the PC correct captial of the world or such.....we are all sick of the PC crap that our country assumes ...it does not make us anything other than the same as most other western nations trying to do the right thing by its people and satisfying but a few. If a survey was taken on the root cause of Christain dislike of the Jewish people it would go back to the execution of Jesus. We Jews have been blamed for his death. I can accept that. I am not happy about it but I can accept it. Now I ask this question. If we Jewish people were responsible for the death of Jesus then that proves we Jewish people lived in Palestine at that time. Judaism was the established religion followed by Christianity. Islam came to Palestine centuries later. Therefore either Jews deserve your hatred for killing Jesus in Palestine or killing him in Russia, Poland, or Germany where it seems you think we Jews originated from. You cannot have it both ways. What goes round comes round. Funny, but since leaving downunder for Israel, I've had mostly great relationships with Israelis. I guess if you want to judge a few Israelis like Tanya's husband in NZ who cares more about integrating into a foreign culture while the easy life is good, than stay downunder. Israel is the Jewish Homeland to live in, and NZ & Aussie are as good a place to die in as anywhere else.
