1. Did they have anything to vote for?
Mark ,   London, UK   (10.21.12)
Or was it just a single list of Fatah functionaries?
2. "Hamas claimed...the elections are "a fraud"
A ,   Belgium   (10.21.12)
And they are absolutely right. A non existent country holding elections for a government to rule over non existent "palestinians". Fraud, joke, circus...lots of adjectives to describe "palestinian" elections. But democratic isn't one of them.
3. Only 500,000 eligible to vote.
rebecca ,   modiin   (10.21.12)
Is that all the "Palestinians" in the west bank? So few? What was the point?
4. Hamas and democracy
Danny ,   London England   (10.21.12)
No one has ever accused Hamas of believing in democracy or human rights. In Gaza Hamas killed or tried its best to kill Fatah leaders. Why risk being voted out of power when you can just throw a tantrum and stay in power?
5. 50% Arabs living in Judea&Samaria prefer Israeli leadership.

6. Local and national democracy are DIFFERENT
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (10.21.12)
There seems to be a load of nonsense being spoken here.It matters not a jot that Gazans didn't participate in these elections because they are LOCAL elections. How or whether a person in the Gaza Strip votes makes no difference to the result in a west bank municipality any more than the voters in one west bank municipality can affect the result in another. These elections don't confer any legitimacy on the PA and Abbas whose terms have long run out. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
