FIDF were made public I doubt if people would part with their hard earnt cash. They have many who voulunteer and are happy to give their time to our soldiers, but it is far too embarrassing to ask for the 10sh donation. This went together with the Telethron days. We are aware that any organization has to have its paid employees who come every day, as this cant be expected of voulunteers, but what the chairman and some others take a month, That seems just greed and taking away from the soldiers. Most of these people have a very nice pension. I dont think folks will be opening their wallets this year.

I don't live in Israel and didn't have access to the telethon. I hope our wonderful IDF soldiers don't read the news of this cancellation as a lack of support for them. There are plenty of us that try to contribute regularly to organizations that support soldiers. We care about you...
3.  Misplaced pride.

Some businesses have a huge budget for publicity. Using that for telethon might profit them and the soldiers. 500000 Shekel is not worth the effort? Who doesn t appreciate the little is not worth the big . Moreover, who knows, may be this time they might collect more.
