1. an extraordinary occasion to be celebrating the reality ,...
snag ,   USA   (10.28.12)
Not for the Polish taxpayer that's financing this project at the time the government is closing schools and laying off teachers due to a lack of funds - It makes me wonder how much the Jewish multi billionaire Larry Silverstein that appreciate this effort so much chip in (in $) to this project ? ,...
2. Jews and Poles once got along very
Reuven   (10.28.12)
well once. That's why Poland had such a large Jewish population. Poland is not Germany or Austria. Jews and Poles are moving toward friendship and Poland now has good relations with Israel. The Museum is a step in the right direstion.
3. It is the most sad story.
Beary White ,   Norway   (10.28.12)
And the world should know the islamic followers (called muslims) were allied with the nazi. But that is not mentioned in history books....
4. "with about 3.5 million Jews living there" ,...
split ,   US   (10.28.12)
With 95 % of them an Orthodox the kind you can find in Beit Shemesh or Mea Shearim in Israel or Postville, Monsey, New Square, Kiryas Joel in US and Outremont in Canada to name few places where they managed to establish themselves and ripping off local population a born schnorrers with an aversion for work and military service with a gratitude syndrome and loyally challenged that got kicked out from other countries in the past ,...
5. Incorrectness
Robert Soran-Schwarz ,   EU   (10.28.12)
Correctly it must be called "Jewish Poles", not "Polish Jews". Except for antisemitic thugs, based on racism
6. Poland is one of the biggest haters.
Jimmy ,   Canada   (10.29.12)
Poland stole property of 3.5 million Jews. They continue to fill themselves with hatred. The museum is just for financial gain.
7. to Snag - There are a lot of Jewish donors
Justine   (10.29.12)
You can go on the Museum's website and see that there are a lot of Jewish donors. From what I've read, the Polish government provided about 60% of the funds and there are some Polish private donors as well. I may not be the best judge because I don't live in Poland and don't pay the taxes, but I'm glad that the Polish government found the means to finance this facility. I'm sure it will be popular, especially with students. It will teach that Poland wasn't always monolithic in terms of ethnicity and religion, and I think the young people will benefit from learning about the life and culture of the Jewish people.
8. Jimmy - you should be a museum curator!
Justine   (10.29.12)
If you know how to make money on a museum... Let's see: the museum cost 100 mln USD so far. The relatively new and very popular Museum of Warsaw Insurrection attracts about half a million visitors per year and tickets cost about 4 dollars. If the Museum of History of Polish Jews is similarly popular, it will take 50 years before the sales of tickets cover construction costs, not counting actual operations. Maybe museums have other means to make money (souvenirs shops, etc.) but the idea that a 100 mln museum is built for "financial gain" sounds pretty fantasist to me.
9. To Jimmy
Thomas ,   Poland   (10.29.12)
Poland didn't steal property of any Jew. It was done by Nazis. Jimmy, it seems to me that you know nothing about Poland which exists for more that 1000 years I can't say this about Canada. In comparison with Poland your country is a very young child who tends to be very conceited.
10. Many building in Krakow belonged to Jews
Joseph ,   Canada   (10.29.12)
I visited Krakow and found so many buildings and famous properties that belonged to Jews most were stolen by Germans or Poles from Jews that were murdered and never claimed it.

snag ,   USA   (10.29.12)
Check how much did the German government chip in and one Polish billionaire J. Kulczyk that should give you a clear picture about Jewish 'generosity' and it's part in this project ,...
12. To Thomas number 9
Dov ,   Poleg   (10.29.12)
My family come from a small village near Bialystok. I speak Polish and I am proud of my Polish background. there is a lot of anti-Polonism about an myths about the Holocaust and I am ashamed to say even some Jews believe this nonsense. The educated amongst us know that there were more Righteous amongst the nations amongst Oles than all other nations and Poles that helped Jews were immediatly executed unlike Germans Dutch etc. In fact there was less collaboration with the Nazis among Poles than all the other countries occupied by the Germans and that includes the British of the Channel Islands Jersey Guerney etc who willingly collaborated with the Germans to deport Jews to their death. Thomas I love Poland and the Polish people and I am honoured to be a Polish Jew or Jewish Pole! Please ignore this ignorance. museum is great and I support this and cannot wait to visit! Jestem Poliakem Zydowski! Kocham Polska!!! This
13. Justine @ 8 - He must be a yeshive graduate ,...
snag ,   USA   (10.29.12)
It's already known that this museum will never pay or support itself by charging for an admission and always be a burden to taxpayer . The Jews are not the most valuable visitors/tourists either for many reasons ask the people in Cracow and around.
14. 12 - You're on my endangered species list ,...

Also an occupied Poland was the only country that had a death sentence as a punishment for denouncing a Jew to Germans, carried out by the way by the resistance forces ,...
16. To Dov :-) :-) :-)
Thomas ,   Poland   (10.29.12)
Hello Dov. I'd like to express my gratitude. Your are brave man and I admire people who don't be afraid to express their individuality. I don't blame other people. I hope someday they get to a conclusion and everything will be fine. I know Bialystok very well. I come form small town 140 km form Bialystok. I hope some day we meet in Israel and We drink a glass of wine. Could we stay in touch ??
17. The documentary 'Shoah' tells a very different story.
Elias   (10.30.12)
The Poles were pleased when the Jews were deported, and very quick to take over their homes.
