This is money down the tube. An electric car is something that the public does not want. No buyers equals commercial failure.

People do want electric cars, but in Israel the price of the cars is too high, and money talks. Caring for the enviroment is one thing, but on its own, its not incentive enough to change the petrol habit of a life time.

Better Place will never be successful. There is only one model of car which is compatible with Better Place technology. The battery change system is not in place nationwide and the range you get out of the battery is alot less that what you get from a regular car. What happens when you want to go out of town where the gas stations are not equipped with the battery change system? Running the car on electricity is not much cheaper than gas. its also the general public who pay a large part of the cost for the people who use Better Place technology because the batteries are topped up with electricity from the national grid and the more power we consume the more power stations we need and the higher electric bills so everybody in the country is part funding electric car use. Electric cars may or may not be the long term future of cars but the battery technology is just not around yet which makes it viable. Short - medium term hybrid is the way forward because you got the advantage of both electric and gas. The government should lower the import taxes on hybrid cars make them more affordable and at the same time increase it on gas guzzlers.

Also the monthly fees charged are to high and based on milage driven every month, which makes it to expensive. If they would make it universal for every car brand they might have change of sucses.

Add gadgetry to electric car like solar power and turbine power from the drag of the wind .Also create the vrooming noises associated with the petrol heads.add wings to the cars to give the scifi effect.
