2. Too factual
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (11.05.12)
The extreme leftists and Arabs will deny the facts that you have written. No lie is too great for them.
3. Nice read.
E S ,   Detroit   (11.06.12)
Thoroughly enjoyed this piece. Liked your facebook page for future articles.
4. Don't blame the Palestinians
David ,   On this planet   (11.05.12)
The blame should fall on the Jewish Israelis who support Palestinian claims. We will never have peace until we unite together against our enemy. in the mean time keep wishing for peace miracles happen
5. How Israelis can join "Peace Now" is a real mystery&shame!
tom ,   tel aviv   (11.05.12)
6. Well, there you have it.
Brian ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (11.05.12)
Ynet news needs more Dan Calic. This guy tells it like it is.
7. Only partially true
R. ,   Warszawa, Poland   (11.05.12)
But still there is peace with Egypt and peace with Jordan and also border with Syria and with Lebanon is quiet! There wouldn't be so if Israel wouldn't withdraw.
8. PEACE ? WHAT IS THIS TALK ?
DA RAP ARTISTE ,   SAFED OPERAHOUSE   (11.05.12)
Why Peace peace peace peace ad nauseum ? What israelis need is SECURITY .When we enjoy security ,peace automatically follows ,not the other way around.
9. agree with author 100%
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (11.05.12)
10. Reflection
Nomad ,   Ps   (11.05.12)
It is unfortunate that the author is adopting the strategy "make the big lie, make it simple, keep saying it and eventually everybody will believe it". In any case the alternative one democratic state solution is clear. I guess it would be even better to have Jordan (the rest of the original promised land) and its citizen as part of this state.
11. Mistakes
MC   (11.05.12)
The biggest mistake Bibi made was to give recognition to the concept of a Palestinian people entitled to their own state on 'disputed' territory? How does Israel intend disentangling itself from this? Bibi recently requested the Levy report but wont accept it's findings!! When will this zig zagging stop? If Bibi and Leiberman want to win the upcoming election they had better make their policies clear. Land for Peace is dead!!
12. Peace ONLY via BALANCE, balance ONLY via SECURE BIG ISRAEL.
Jerry ,   The Netherlands   (11.06.12)
13. End Israeli retreats permanently.
Chaim ,   Israel   (11.06.12)
The author is spot on. VIrtually all of Israel's serious problems are direct results of Israeli retreats. We must end the policy of Israeli retreat permanently. We should do the opposite. Retake our liberated lands we so foolishly abandoned.
14. Facts given by Calic not true
Stan ,   Israel   (11.06.12)
Balfour Declaration did not give Palestine to the Jews as claimed by Calic. It gave the Jews a National Home in Palestine on condition that this would not jeopardize the rights of the other peoples in that country.
15. "Muslims enjoy complete freedom of access ....."
Stan ,   Israel   (11.06.12)
NOT TRUE The army and police decide if and when Muslims can pray on the Temple Mount.
16. #15 but that is due to their actions
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (11.07.12)
Yes when they riot the police close it - big surprise. Whereas we have nearly no access whatsoever
17. "In 2000 constuction began ......."
Stan ,   Israel   (11.07.12)
This Calic is supposed to be a knowledgable academic. He is either stupid or a blatent liar. The 2nd Intifada increased the terror attacks and the numbers of casualties. Only in July 2002 did the govt decide to build a security barrier.
18. Jerry 12 . What is a "secure big Israel" for you
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (11.07.12)
19. To R , 7
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (11.07.12)
We didn't withdraw from Jordan nor Lebanon . Border with Syria quiet because the Assad's know that they could have be smashed harshly if they provoke problems on their border . And for them we "occupy" their Golan . With Egypt and Jordan it's NOT peace , but a "no war" situation .
20. Correction
Dan Calic [writer]   (11.07.12)
For the record the year construction began on the barrier was 2002. Please excuse the slight error.
