How about we lob a few very well placed shells into Syria. You know, just to let them know that we are watching. I say kill a few, either side. That should tamp down their bravado. If it doesn't, we can actually --sigh -- make a real effort to make them understand that Israel is way off limits. Who cares what gets destroyed in the process?
2. "Will terrorists follow rebels..?" Terrorists ARE the rebels
Avi   (11.06.12)
If it's not the dictator's terrorists, it is the rebel terrorists. The poor secular/nonMuslim Syrians are the losers no matter what. Either way we'll have terrorists at our border.
3. Why not give them the strategic plan of "how to"?
Barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (11.06.12)
I can't understand this attitude lately in the military and politics of public/media airing of plans, strategies, etc. What happened to CONFIDENTIAL and let our enemies keep guessing?

You really are a drama queen, Sarah, and a warmonger to boot - calling for death and destruction. One stray bullet is not a declaration of war, it's a mishap, so quit with the hysterics. Do something useful today - go and queue up to cast your vote.
5. Who cares what gets destroyed in the process?

I can always move back to the USA.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.06.12)
David, I am fortunate enought to have places to live in four countries. But if it makes you feel any better, I am Jewish to the core, and if war breaks out in Israel, Israel is where I shall be. As I said, I have houses in four countries. But my home is in Israel.
9. a threat from the Syrian border
Toledano Jean-Pierre ,   Israel   (11.06.12)
I also think that in this case it was perhaps a lost bullet. But a jeep is - from my point of view - a rather little vehicle. Anyway, let us wait and see, but certainly not too long. In this stage I don't believe in a small or large-scale intervention in the Syrian civil war. The rebels are simply members of the Muslim brotherhood (MB), backed by all sort of radical Sunni. All of them: El Assad's Baath Party and his Alawi fellow believers, their Sunni opponents have the same goal: annihilation of Jews and the destruction of Israel. So, let them fight each other. It's good for us. Only when there is an accumulation of similar accidents like the one on Monday, then shoot back on the assaulters to show them clearly that our patience is not endless.
10. Fence is on Syrian territory. Golan is part of Syria.
BDS   (11.06.12)
Just because israel "claims" something based on a collection of oral-fables (Torah) desn't make it true. The border is 30kms to the south-west

Israel should never give back the Golan heights. Too many attacks have been launched from there against Israel. Amazing to me that Syria wants that little pece of land when they have so much now. They only want it for a militrary strategic point.

We Texans support your view Sarah and if we were there would also aid you in your battle. May God continue to watch over the last place on earth all Christians can be proud of.
13. We should be helping Assad
Nick ,   Beersheba IL   (11.06.12)
The groups attacking Syria are the same ones that intend to destroy us. If we would help Assad defeat them, and help the secular population regain control, we would be in a much better position. If we would have helped the Libyans and the Egyptians, we would not be seeing the expansion of the new Caliphate. But our leaders choose to do what is in their best economic interest - meaning doing what the Saudis and the State Department tell them to do. We are helping Hamas get stronger.
