1. 49 a month?...
Jeff ,   USA   (11.06.12)
Weren't there going to be "50 million electric cars on the road by 2020 from Better Place?" My math may be a little fuzzy but I think it'll probably take a pretty long time to get there at 49 per month...
2. Its going to take time and faith for electric cars to catch
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (11.06.12)
on but if you are not driving to far cities all the time they are an excellent choice. In the US more and more homes are getting rooftop solar systems that put more energy into the grid during the day than they take out at night leaving them with no electricity bill at all. Why couldn't a solar system feed power into the electric grid in the day and recharge the car for free at night?
3. Electric cars are comming
Ron ,   LA   (11.06.12)
They will be like computers in the 80s and 90s. Something not quite perfected and expensive. But we are not going to be useing gas cars any more than fountain pens in the not so distant future.
4. #2 local problems
Dan ,   KS   (11.07.12)
I understand that Israelis cannot add power to the grid as in the US due to limitations by the monopolistic electric company. I don't understand why I need to be limited to 1 car company because of the cars power source. I don't understand the economics of a car that cost as much as a petrol powered car. Israel's have 1 private car, most do not have "1 for the wife", but 1 from work as a perk, and maybe 1 at home. Non-petrol is in the future, the idea of Better Place is nice, but 5 minutes every 200 km against 5 minutes every 550 km in petrol is not helpful - and 5 minutes is after I have found a filling station.
5. 50 a month not as bad as it sounds
Todd ,   Baltimore   (11.08.12)
Israel has a small population. 50 per month in Israel is about the same market share as the Nissan Leaf in the USA which sold 1500 last month.
