Israel does not receive any welfare checks from any country including USA. In fact USA does not give any welfare checks to any country. USA does invest in foreign countries for her own interest. For example spends money i African countries to end malaria and AIDS. As a result these can be prevented from threatening US citizens. USA helps countries hit with disasters as a result gains friendship and with this friendship comes clout in conducting world diplomacy. General prosperity, for all its faults it is reasonably good but no way 40. Entrepreneurship, I think 30 or possibly even higher. Social capital, it is actually reasonably good with the health funds etc but again no way reaches 22. Security, I would say that Israel itself gets much better ratings than it gets. Security is one of the countries biggest spending areas and people are very security conscious, I think the people who came to these concluions have been watching the one sided media. Freedom, it deserves a much better rating than it got. Thos good old social justice protests, Israel was congratulated on the fact it allowed such things to go on. We have people protesting all the time over different things, there is freedom of speech and for the most part very few travel restrictions so what is wrong with freedoms? Does Israel really rank below one- hundred countries in the area of personal freedom, or for that matter security? Consider what is going on in most of the nations of the Islamic world, or in large parts of Africa? Obvious bias is at work here. Israel may not rank in the top ten but certainly should be in a much higher place in regard to these two particular matters.

not according to any statistics by far. israel is in the oecd. considered a DEVELOPED MODERN NATION ACCORDING TO THE OECD. its economy is one of the best in the world at 17th percent of all globe nations. also considered one of the best education in the world with four of its universities in the top 100 in the world. not a single turkish or arab university is on that list. i wonder why! not! all this acheived in only 64 years.!!!!!!!!! imagine that! jews are brilliant and it shows!

Turkey as a whole may not be considered more prosperous than East Europe countries but she is definitely not 3rd world. Turkey is the successor of the Ottoman Empire which was a main player in the Middle East in its hayday and remained so even when it became "the sick man of Europe" in late 19th and early 29th Century. Few little facts about this third world country: In the technology industry Israel is considered one of the most important places in the world after Silicon Valley. This third world country has a highly advanced medicine industry and people come from the US and other western countries for medical tourism because Israel's medicine is considered advanced and affordable. Its a leader in renewable energy. It is a leader in water recycling and is exporting its technologies to both the third world and Europe. Alot of modern scientific discoveries have come from Israel. The country designs, builds and launches its own satellites. Pretty good for a third world country I think. It has its problems like every other country, nowhere is perfect but if its a third world country then all third world countries should strive to be like Israel. All this in 64 years and in those 64 the only modern arab countries are the Gulf states who are swimming in oil and their idea of development is having foreign contractors build private islands for the rich and wasting water on indoor ski slopes.

That is like saying that the US Government should not provide financial assistance or temporary work visas to foreign students who come to American universities to study. They study here, we have to pay their tuition bill then they can work here in the US displacing American citizens and fully legal US residents. That amount of direct aid and indirect lost economic earnings to American citizens and fully legal US residents is the real 'welfare check' that you maybe trying to identify.
