31. #17 Pals not going to dictate how many Pals go to Israel
Sam ,   Canada   (11.13.12)
Under no circumstances will Jews allow Palestinians to overturn the Jewish majority in Israel with Palestinian refugees. Palestinians don't get to choose if they want to live in Israel unless Israel allows some to choose.
32. To No. 27
Bertram ,   London, UK   (11.13.12)
I didn't quite understand your point. Would it be like saying: why have the Jewish State of Israel if half the global Jewish population doesn't live there? And, therefore, would other countries be justified in expelling them because of the existence of Israel?
33. Rubbish! Two State Final Solution would destroy Israel.
Chaim ,   Israel   (11.13.12)
One merely needs to glance at a map to see the lunacy of Ami Ayalon's words. The Two State Final Solution would destroy Israel within a decade. Any child, capable of reading a map, can see that. Israel's waist would be trimmed to a suicidal 9 miles (15 minutes by tank). Every Israeli city and town would fall under constant rocket fire. One would have to be either a complete idiot or an Israel hater to support the rubbish Ayalon advocates.
34. Ayalon proves that we can't trust our own politicians
Ilan   (11.13.12)
When the fence was built and defended before the High Court and the Knesset it was stressed by the politicians that the fence was a security measure and not a border. Changing the rules in the middle of the game shows that we can't trust our own politicians and certainly not the Palestinian leaders either. I'm saddened that Ami Ayalon is to be no more reliable than was Ariel Sharon.
35. Neither Demand", NOR RELINQUISH
T. Echelman ,   NY & USA   (11.13.12)
I agree at this stage: 1- "Israel should announce that it Neither Demands", but NOR should it RELINQUISHES, "any sovereignty rights over any territory east of the West Bank security barrier", without a comprehensive, negotiated peace/statehood agreement, AND 2- Israel should also announce, that in the near future, if the PA continues refusing to negotiate, that Israel will act unilaterally, and create a Palestinian state on borders of Israel's choosing.
36. To: No. 2
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.13.12)
Repatriation is the act of returning illegal aliens to the country of their citizenship. In the case of the Arabs who illegally squat on the West Bank, that would be Jordan. Please do not confuse repatriation with voluntary departure. The Arabs who left Israel did so at the urging of their leadership, which told them to get out of the way of the "conquering Arab armies" who were going to drive the Jews into the Sea. As an added incentive, they were promised first crack at the homes and possessions that the Jews would leave behind. The Arabs that heeded the call departed of their own volition, and Israel has no legal or moral obligation to allow them to return. Those that did NOT heed the call are citizens of Israel and enjoy all of the rights and privileges of citizenship although not all of the obligations. Would you like me to explain forced expulsion to you; i.e., what happened to the Jews in Arab and Moslem countries and what happened to the Jews of Judea and Samaria? Would that help clear up your confusion?
37. I didn't know before
Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (11.13.12)
that a valid international resolution exists, from the year 1922. The Nation's Alliance decided about a jewish national home west of Jordan river and an arab one east of it. The resolution was signed in San Remo, Italy. No more problem in the ME, Israel must repeat : SAN REMO, SAN REMO, SAN REMO, endlessly. Maybe a government paid parrot is excellent to do so, for instance at the GA of UNOs.
38. #33 - tanks are meaningless these days
spyguy ,   seattle usa   (11.13.12)
In the era of cheap, reasonably accurate missiles, tanks are pretty much worthless as the US found out in Iraq. The only thing that was able to survive for more than a few days were the MRAPS and they were taken out at a fairly regular basis also. As a result, it does not make one bit of difference how wide Israel is. Once the country is mostly rubble from those 50000 missiles the IDF says are pointed your way, the Arab clean-up crew will not need tanks.
39. At #22
Feras ,   Italy   (11.13.12)
I really hope everyone is like you...I really do...thank you for having an open mind unlike other people
40. #38. Arab clean up crew to clean up their nations.
Chaim ,   Israel   (11.13.12)
#38. The "Arab clean up crew" would have decades of work cleaning up their own nations.
41. Sarah from USA
Jarda ,   Czech Republic   (11.13.12)
Strange, people whose families have lived there for centuries are called " illegal aliens" and immigrant from Eastern Europe try to expel them.
42. 34 - Ayalon like Rabin, Sharon even Begin
Alon ,   Arad   (11.13.12)
all reached standing, understanding and wisdom that made them realize that the only future for Jewish, democratic Israel lies with separation. These people have and had the insight, realism and responsibility that led them to understand things that all the "patriots" here fail to understand. Repatriation, forced or unforced expulsion are all wishful thinking by people who delusional, lack any sort of responsibility, and can release whatever BS you little brain might come up with. reality dictates that Israel has 3 options: 1 - Annex all post 67 territories and grant the inhabitants full citizenship rights. 2 - Same as 1 but un grant any right to the population. 3 - Establish 2 separate entities. There is no forth option of expulsion, or repatriation. Now all came to the realization that option 3 is the best for a future Jewish democratic Israel. They were and are not less patriotic, they are just realistic, experienced and responsible, traits that all those patriots here do not care for or share.
43. #42. This land belonged to Jews over 3,500 years.
Chaim ,   Israel   (11.13.12)
#41. Take a history lesson. Israel, including Judea and Samaria, has belonged to Jews for more than 3,500 years. This is not opinion. It is proven fact.
44. At least Begin wasn't criminal
Ilan   (11.13.12)
Citing corrupt bribe takers is a poor argument. Also discounting Irael retaining all or most of Oslo's area C
45. 3 state solution
nadav ,   tlv   (11.13.12)
Israel +Jordan- that's the 2 state solution. Jordan and Israel should divide the West Bank with the former Jordanians going back under Jordanian rule and Gaza should be given a choice to go BACK to Egypt or become a democratic republic. that's the only lasting and just solution to the conflict.
46. You can't bring "demographic bomb" hoax back to life.
Chaim ,   Israel   (11.13.12)
Many credible American and Israeli stujdies have proven the Arab "demographic bomb" to be a hoax intended to force Israel to cede Judea and Samaria. The hoax is dead and it can't be brought back to life.
47. Settlements are not a problem
Alex   (11.13.12)
I don't understand why the author suggests evacuating the settlements. They're no problem, the solution is simple as plans put forth by Kadima. Settlements in exchange for Israeli land, preferably Israeli Arab land. Better yet, all the majority Arab areas in Israel goes to an Arab state and the settlements to Israel. It's so f*cking simple. (If I'm not mistaken this is what Lieberman wants aswell)
48. Never the solution
(11.13.12)
We well not agree to any two state. Darkness and light can not live together and we'll tell the darkness where to go to.
49. How do you say "shut up" in Hebrew?
Miron ,   USA   (11.13.12)
These creeps would want us to believe that going home to home and checking if it's an Arab or Jewish has anything to do with state building? Where is my Tomer to shoot the sucker once and for all.
50. 11 To David Perez - Civil War Risk
Mark of Lewiston ,   USA   (11.13.12)
I don't think Israel would elect any politician willing to risk civil war with the settlers. Netanyahu had trouble with a construction slow down and never intended to negotiate an end agreement. Price Taggers already are willing to attack the IDF. The US won't force anything or even try. This is an entirely self-inflicted situation for Israel. And the politicians in control like it.
51. Four states exist
Chaim Ben Kahan ,   Efrat, Israel   (11.13.12)
We already have four states and we need to bring this to two states only. There is Israel, there is Gazastan, there is the PA controlled areas and Jordan. Two states are needed for peace. Israel on the West Bank, and Jordan-Palestine on the East Bank. That is the remedy for a lasting peace between the two peoples.
52. To No. 41
Bertram ,   London, UK   (11.13.12)
Let us accept that the land "belonged to Jews for more than 3,500 years". Is that the basis for modern Zionism? Hardly. The Zionist movement came into being because of the failure of Europe in relation to the Jewish people: discrimination, persecution, wholesale murder. If it had not been for historic antisemitism Eretz Yisrael would have remained a place for pilgrimage for the pious and the traveller, the relatively few indigenous Jews, the Bedouin, camels, Ottoman overlords and imperial powers. Does that mean that the existence of Israel is unjustified. Absolutely not, especially in the wake of the Shoah. But let us not use ancient history to prop up up an outmoded exclusionary ethno-nationalism. Unless, of course, Israel seeks to be like other bankrupt Middle Eastern regimes. I thought Israel was better than that.
53. Jewish control of security more essential
Zivron   (11.13.12)
The Arabs and Jews separation is inmost instances essential and a Palestinian Autonomy in the form of a state is possible but the Jews have to control security. The Scandinavian countries particularly Norway and Denmark but not Ironore Sweden can protect the Palestinians against the Price Tag Fascists.
54. #17 Muayyad: Big demands from the loser of so many coflicts
Carl ,   USA   (11.13.12)
Not to waste time refuting every point, but you do realize that Arabs cannot possibly "revert" to east Jerusalem. It was only during a brief but brutal 19 year period that the Jordanian legion occupied Jerusalem and forcibly evicted its Jewish inhabitants, while destroying priceless historical artifacts and sacred sites. Surely you know that Hebrew University and Hadassah Hospital on Mount Scopus were in Jewish hands long before 1948 - do you really expect to occupy these institutions also?
55. Obama UNSC '67 borders coming to Jews near you
Steven Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (11.13.12)
...get used to it.
56. way too late
Adil ,   Nablus   (11.13.12)
We all know you're never going to pull your lunatic settlers out of here and that our independence is never going to happen... hope you're ready for non-violent democracy demonstrations and peaceful "million man marches to Jerusalem" in front of reporters from every news agency in the world to demand our democratic voting rights in the so-called "only democracy in the Middle East".... shalom, future countrymen!!
57. #56 Keep on dreamin'
Alex   (11.13.12)
We know you deeply wishes to parasite on the success and benefits of Israeli society. Don't worry, in the end Lieberman will fix this easy problem. Arabs in an arab state, Jews in Israel (ofc Arabs who are 100% loyal to Israel and their Jewish countrymen can stay).
58. #55 ...
Alex   (11.13.12)
Ehud Olmert proposed a palestinian state of 99.3% of 1967, but the pallies refused.
59. #56 No one in Israel is giving you citizenship
Sam ,   Canada   (11.13.12)
Palestinians seem to think that they DICTATE all solutions. Either Palestinians compromise or they get nothing. They don't get rewarded for solutions that please only themselves.
60. We'll wait for better time, and decide then...
Yossef   (11.13.12)
