1. Ceasefire is a joke?
Ben S ,   Free world   (11.12.12)
After firing over 100 rockets on Israeli civilians Hamas asks for a ceasefire. Who are they kidding? The next round will be 200 rockets on Israelis. The Israeli response must be, CEASEFIRE MY ASS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2. "Israel reportedly agreed not to retaliate
A ,   Belgium   (11.11.12)
over sporadic rocket fire from Gaza, as long as it was sans casualties." So as long as the rockets destroy homes , as long as children are kept home and schools are closed as a precautionary measure, as long as daily life and sleep are interrupted by sirens and alarms and running to insufficient shelters... that part is ok. This stinks of DefenseLESS Minister Barak.
3. @2 what about people from Gaza?
(11.12.12)
Do they have homes? Schools? Hospitals?
4. Ceasefire? Or end of a cycle?
Shalom ,   U.S.A.   (11.12.12)
There is on solution to this unacceptable:vote Netahyahou out!
5. Hamas is a hypo critic terrorist gang
Salahuddin Azam ,   Chicago   (11.12.12)
If IDF decides to end Hamas in the territories than it has to make a plan in which the common Palestinian(who is only interested in peace and livelihood) who is stuck with the Hamas boar is saved. Some kind of a permanent security and Hamas clean up from its roots. If the Palestinians can get respect and security from Israeli forces permanently it can very easily become part of a free Israel and can root out Hamas and other such organizations with the help of Israeli forces. Provided they are not used, deceived and left to die with the hands of Hamas after using them against the monkey Hamas. No violence and rockets everyday any more. That is the only solution for both people to live in love and respect. Boundaries are drawn because of security.
6. #2 does gaza have a right to deter attacks
abdalla   (11.12.12)

7. How sweet, 100 missiles fired at Israel and now egypt tells
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (11.12.12)
them to stop. Inmates are running the Israeli asylum.
8. @ #3
daniela ,   panama   (11.12.12)
Yep.. in Gaza there are homes, schools and hospitals. What they do not get is a 100 missiles. Im sure if Israel would have answered with the same amount of missiles we got in the south, Hamas, Jihad Islami, the egyptians, the Eu, the Un and the US would have condemned Israel. But here we see that it is Ok to launch missiles as long not many are killed... what a world... i
9. If IDF did right, then...
Beary White ,   Norway   (11.12.12)
..some hundred hamasss homes should be bombed...
10. To: No. 3
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.12.12)
Yes, they do. They use them to cache weapons to be used against Israelis. Your point?
11. To: Shalom at No. 4
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.12.12)
There's another solution. Reduce Gaza to rubble.
12. #3
dov ,   USA   (11.12.12)
Would it be fair to you if Israeli forces fired 100 rockets blindly at civilian targets. Israeli forces are trying to eradicate those pesky mosquitos calling themselves freedom fighters. Hiding behind skirts and wasting money that could be used for Peaceful purposes.
13. Silly question, but how long should a cease fire last??
Brett Levitas ,   JHB South Africa   (11.12.12)
Wasnt one brokered like a month ago??? These "ceasfires" are a jopke and we shouldnt stand for them anymore. Remember we left gaza with no preconditions! We should bomb the hell out of the illigitamate govermnment, target the authorities now!!!
14. Israel need a civilian leadership
masri ,   cairo ,egypt   (11.12.12)
people of Israel must change their ideology and methodology war will absolutely burn you
15. Israelis are as stupid as the day is long

16. cauz Morsi said: Egypt will not share in Gaza siege anymore
observer ,   Egypt   (11.12.12)
17. AGAIN???
DavidR ,   USA   (11.12.12)
This happens about every 2 weeks! Any agreement to cease fire by Israel AGAIN will be a huge slap in the face to the four brave soldiers who were wounded in the initial attack. Go into Gaza and finish business!
18. respond heavy now
gene ,   ny.usa   (11.12.12)
no freaking cease fire. fire on all weapons . kill kill kill. Eradicate damn monkeys. deport the rest to jordan. what the hell r u waiting for . Do u want Israeli public to start gathering on the borders of gaza and shooting whatever we can across the border? Respond now or face revolution
19. This is madness
zooog ,   USA   (11.12.12)
If Mexicans were firing rockets into Texas, I'm sure the response would be so severe that it would stop immediately.
20. #3
Yehuda ben Avraham ,   New York City, USA   (11.12.12)
Yes they do. But Israel does NOT intentionally fire upon them, unlike hamas, which not only fires at them but makes them prime targets.
21. @ 3
Jennie ,   israel/US   (11.12.12)
What about them ? The so-called palestinians know not to run away from their homes and schools, nore hospitals, because Israeli Defense force, is only targeting the terrorists...And if they (Gazan's), can fire at us over 100 qassams within 24 hours (for over 30 years now) , then this is a declaration of war...And so we have the right, but even more so, the duty to defend our Nation: the innocent children and people, who only want to live and let live... We are retaliating, because we have no choice, but defend ourselves and we do it with a "heavy" heart..The decades long palestinian acts of war and terror against Us, can't and will not be tolerated any longer.. If a war what they want, then war is what they will get... That is a simple and universal rule of engagement..
22. #2 Of course they have them
BEN JABO (MACHAL) ,   ISRAEL   (11.12.12)
and use them and their grounds to fire rockets into Israel
23. Egypt brokering ceasefire ? Wonderful !
DT ,   TA Israel   (11.12.12)
Just like last time and the whole of the South can rest easy in their beds. Drunks in charge of this country would do a better job
24. come, come, ho hum, do you believe?
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (11.12.12)
Egypt brokers peace? Come on now, do we really believe this? There has not been any peace since Sharon's super pull-out when Hamas decided to lob missiles at us. Peace means both side agree to live amicably. Here we have a 'hudna' as the Arabs call it; a lull in firing missiles at us in order that they may get more accurate weapons lined up to shoot at us. Anyone who believes in the word 'peace' in news articles such as this, is either stupid or removed from reality. There will be no peace until they are finally able to hit Tel Aviv, kill many civilians and the Israelis must finally do the inevitable, invade the Gaza Strip and destroy Hamas. Then we can speak of peace; until then, we have a 'hudna', a lull in attacks.
25. No more ceasefires!
George ,   Ashdod   (11.12.12)
More than 1400 missile and mortars have been fired at us through a procession of "ceasefires" since January 20th of this year. Is this any way to live? Would any other country tolerate even one missile? The time has come to wipe out the leadership of Hamas, Islamic Jihad, the Municipal Councils, etc.
26. #2
David ,   Haifa   (11.12.12)
nop just bomb factories and terrorist training schools
27. 2****Generalissimos from Bekhutz
Tarbouche ,   Aswan   (11.12.12)
Forever atop of the strategy of how to fight a potentially 5 fronted war, Petraeus does not get close to their brilliant military genius So brave with courage they never mince words telling a soldier like Barak, weasel as he is, what to do, To all the Generalissimos out there I salute you, and am willing to bet were you here your laundry bills for brown trousers, and skirts would exceed half your income
28. #3 " the people from Gaza"
moshe ,   Tivon, Israel   (11.12.12)
The ordinary people of Gaza do NOT have shelters. The reason being that blood seeking Hamas is more interested in harassing Israel than building shelters, schools and hospitals. Ham has diverted aid money to purchasing armaments. For Ham: Islamic gee-had etc,the Gazans can wait, amd suffer. For Ham: Gazan suffering is good, great PROPAGANDA : sob...sob "Look at the poor Gazans ..sob...Look how the suffer!" moshe
29. what does one call a cease fire that has...
mark ,   usa   (11.12.12)
its own pretext built in to it for justifying the next round of missile fire into Israel. Who is kidding who here. On the basis of wording reported in this ceasefire...Hamas and its fellow travalers only have to set in motion the next attempt to carry out some new outrage that Israeli intelligence gets wind of and volla when Israel responds pre-emptively, Hamas has the ready made for 24/7 media coverage that Israel violated the cease fire. Geewiz, the only way to stop this vicious cycle, is through might makes right when faced with two-faced ideological foes who won't give up the ghost until they win or are defeated. Unfortunely, the answer to such a challenge is let Hamas pull off the outrage, and then use it against them. Maybe such knowledge delivered privately will be enough to restrain their murderous desires. And, yes I understand that this conceades the tactical advantage to light the match to start a real shooting war, only if the depth of response is not set for the what comes next after targeting and sending Hamas political operatives to the great unknown. By the way... The answer to title question is... such a cease fire is called a trogan horse cease fire.
30. The same shabby trick, it works every time.
Ben Ze'ev ,   Panama City Panama   (11.12.12)
That's a great gimmick those Arabs have, they work it over and over again. They escalate the bombing, and then one of their buddies runs to the Israeli government waving a piece of paper saying .."it's a truce don't shoot...." And Israrl falls for it every time. I can recall at least 4 other times when this had happened. And I'd bet there were quite a few more thna that.
