1. Syria condems Israel ?
GENESIS ,   JHB RSA   (11.15.12)
Wow ! That's amazing. The country that has killed 35,000 of it's own people just so that ONE greedy man can stay in power tells us to stop after we kill ONE MURDERER. Does this not sound totally absurd.?? What it does is to underline exactly the problem in the middle east ! The Arabs are Anti Jewish and want us ALL dead. They are not interested in a "peaceful solution" they have decided on an "all or nothing policy" . So guys,,,,,,,prepare for nothing. Also Bibi, you owe no one an explanation for saving Jewish lives. Don't expect the European community to understand or support you. They all stood by in 1940-45 while one of "their lot " murdered us and did nothing to save us! Lesson learnt. AM YISRAEL CHAI
2. Obama
Chuck ,   SF, USA   (11.15.12)
I am waiting for responses to this article from all the rabid anti-Obama writers who were so busy on this site before the election.
3. gotta love that last paragraphs from the Syrian
the mad zionist ,   sf-ny-is   (11.15.12)
government
4. Are you kidding me?
(11.15.12)
"The Syrian government condemns the barbaric acts committed by the Israeli army against the Palestinian people in Gaza." Well, there is an old saying back home " The Camel can see his humps and is laughing at the other Camel humps." What a bunch of lunatics and Clowns are these people.
5. Yeah, Yeah, Yeah!!!
Brett ,   Florida   (11.15.12)
The very minute Israel fights back, the un-UN calls for peace and de-escalation. And the wonderful mr. obumbler TELLS Israel not to harm gaza civillians, all the while the muslims are expressly trying to murder as many Israeli civillians as possible. Rocket and missles fired into Israeli towns means war! Gee, I wonder why the muslims are trying to target Dimona? Ever hear of radiation poisoning obumbler or mr. moon? It isn't the world who has your back Israel, bless Him and go for it...all the way.
6. The Arabs should be characters in Loony-Tunes
Eyal ,   USA Israel   (11.15.12)
They've all gone mad (all of them). The scary part of all this is, they rule countries.
7. Israel will listen to the UN as soon as
SD Charger ,   San Diego   (11.15.12)
Assad does. I am thankful Obama has given Bibi the "green light" to fight back, not that he needed it though :-) The US has had a taste of how the terrorists behave in Iraq and Afghanistan, so the Arab League can do something about their side or stop whining. Everyone KNOWS that Hamas has been launching rockets into Israel from Gaza, now they whine when Israel defends itself. No one wants war, but enough is enough !!! Concentrate on Syria, Israel can handle their business without anyone else interfering in it. G-d Bless Israel. He is one and Israel is the apple of his eye. Pray for peace and pray for the IDF as they fight and protect Israel tonight.
8. Hmm
Hank ,   Chicago, Illinois US   (11.15.12)
So why is it a "filthy crime" when Israel defends itself, but okay when Palestinians and other Muslim terror groups who lob mortars and fire rockets at Israeli civilians?
9. the way things are shaping up
Barney ,   USA   (11.15.12)
the sinai, southern lebanon, southern syria, and gaza may all become part of Israel.
10. Yes Mr Al Thani - Qatar's FM
Tarbouche ,   Aswan   (11.15.12)
"The Security Council must meet its obligation to maintain peace and security in the world," he said. 1. Demilitarise S Lebanon. 2. Golan demilitarised zone 3. Gaza post cast lead . Arms
11. Re: Chuck
David   (11.15.12)
Hi Chuck. I'm one of those "rabid anti-Obama" people you speak of, though I wouldn't call myself rabid. He and many of his aides have expressed problems with Israel's exercise of its basic rights, both to basic safety and territory, on many occasions, and have shown an disdain for the country on these questions, bordering at times on antipathy or worse. However, Obama has understood the situation experienced by the border towns near Gaza for many years-- and for that, and for understanding the appropriateness and necessity of a military response-- I appreciate him. Moreover I commend the American people, for a society that continues to understand and respond justly to the evil of Islamic terrorism-- few other societies can claim the distinction of such moral clarity. I hope it remains that way. My fears about the president remain, due to positions that he has espoused and implied on many of the other grave issues that collectively confront us. He has every invitation to change.
12. For # 2
(11.15.12)
Of course Obama supports this strike from Israel. What he won't accept is his precious Iran getting hit. That's where he draws the line. Amateur!
13. Is Obama Serious?
Emma ,   Vermon   (11.15.12)
Israel's "right to self-defense" should not include committing air strikes where civilians live. Way to kill more infants and children IDF! Why does ANYONE think killing this Hamas leader would pacify any aggression from Gaza? Clearly Obama is condoning an attitude of violence on Israel's part. This is not "taking steps to prevent civilian casualties," this is going above and beyond to actively continue decimating a population of people who have been drowned by Israel's greed and hunger for preponderance of land and money.
14. Now that looks like a considerable turn around from Obama
Mira ,   Vienna   (11.15.12)
Did he eventually see what damage he has done with his racist pro-Arab involvement? HIgh time to make up for it!
15. To: No. 2
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.15.12)
I am one of those anti-Obama writers, although I would hardly characterize myself as "rabid." Obama is simply doing what the American people expect and want. He hasn't necessarily abandoned his Islamist and anti-Israel agenda. He just doesn't want to get impeached. There! I trust I have addressed your needlessly smug comments. Sometimes, dear, even the American president has to do that which he desperately does not want to do. He does, after all, work for the American people. And the American people do not like terrorists who rain havoc and terror on innocent Jews in Israel.
16. Oh how hypocritical many national leaders can be - amazing!
Jouko ,   Finland   (11.15.12)
17. God bless Israel
saraina ,   zambia   (11.15.12)
things ar plomising, the trus is Gaza people they dont whant peace what the whant ia War,with Israel no other country, you arab you can sapot Gaza, but the trus is tell Gazan people to behave them self.let them stop firlingto Israel.and sik peace. God be with Israel in and out.
18. exercise restraint
joe ,   uk   (11.15.12)
all these countries and people who say exercise restraint to israel should be asked what will you do if bombs are being sent to you just sit and watch the display of fireworks and do nothing what does U S and other countries armies doing in the far east now thousands of miles away they are there to prevent terror
19. of course they did...
nadav ,   tlv   (11.15.12)
"Britain issued a more neutral statement. 'We continue to call on all sides to exercise restraint to prevent a dangerous escalation that would be in no-one's interests,' a British Foreign Office statement said." What would Britain do if 12,000 rockets were fired deliberately targeting civilians? Oh, wait, we already know, fire bomb the enemies cities like they did to Hamburg and Dresden!
20. Emma you are mistaken
Ella ,   Israel   (11.15.12)
Israel does not want to hurt civilians. It's actually the other way around. It's Gaza which sends rockets to Israel and kills innocent civilians. Just last night (a few hours ago) a rocket killed three family members and critically injured an innocent infant. The Israeli people do not want war! They love life and want to live without fear. We wish to live without the fear of all the countries which surround us. These arabs countries constantly talking about 'taking Israel off the map'. Israel believes in peace, love and life! 'LA HAIM' TO LIFE!
21. Syrian Comments
Daniel ,   Chennai, India   (11.15.12)
It is a joke that Syria wants the International community to exert pressure on Israel. In fact, the International community has to exert pressure on Syria which is murdering it's own citizens...and from where does the Qatar official get his news? Are they nuts??
22. One Man's Terrorist Is Another Man's Freedom Fighter
observer ,   Egypt   (11.15.12)
Jaabri was behind enforcing all of the recent ceasefire agreements. He sent his troops out to stop the rockets and was prepared to reach a long term ceasefire. Jaabri was also the main interlocutor of the Egyptian intelligence service in reaching ceasefire understandings. Israel has made man of pieces out of the man of peace. More!, Israel has made 3 israeli victims fodders for an election.
23. #13 Emma - You are lacking information
Chaya ,   Bat Yam   (11.15.12)
You obviously don't know that Hamas puts its rocket launchers in the middle of civilian areas and stores them there as well....near homes and shops and schools and hospitals. Get some information before you start spouting things that aren't true.
24. Well this seems odd...
Jeff ,   USA   (11.15.12)
I thought Obama was a "secret Muslim Brotherhood sympathizer who was going to completely abandon Israel in a second term"...
25. To Chuck, SF,USA
Astronaut ,   ME, USA   (11.15.12)
It's after the elections and I'm still a big bad Obama-basher, but not to worry: I've had my rabies shots. Now put a muzzle on your absurd comments.
26. Syria condemns Israel.
JUDAH THE LION   (11.15.12)
He or she was smoking cocaine all day, non stop. The brain is F$$$$D up
27. Typical Hypocrisy of the World !.
(11.15.12)
Israel has the right to defend Herself cries Obama -. Why has such an obvious thing need to be uttered ? Un calls for de-escalation - Why when Israel resond to military terrorism against its cityzens, and not before ? And the Arab World Condems Israel for its selfdefense. Nothing has changed the last sixty years. If Israel does not understand that She First and formost are on Her own, She will get into Deep Troubble. HASHEM and Israel Forever and ever. Arn.Sweden.
28. Syria condems
Elisheva ,   Jerusalem   (11.15.12)
why is the call so loud and Syria condems Israel. If this is a joke. It is. The world is watching since months as the Syrian population is slaughtered and does nothing. We can not put our hope in Europe or the US or Obama, We must act and protect our people in the south ... and the UN itself is but a puppet in the time when we need it has always failed. Are you surprised about it?
29. #13 Emma
Serge ,   Antwerp, Belgium   (11.15.12)
When you store weapons in civilian buildings, people get hurt.
30. Leaders
john ,   toronto   (11.15.12)
Leaders who force conflict on their people in the region have outside influence. Some of these methods were used during the last world war so I would not trust the advisors. They cannot get their own houses in order and they are only diverting attention from their own problems.I would advise all political and religious leaders to be out of view, this can become tense till elections are over. Embargo on both sides should be taken till both sides ceasefire.
