Hamas says Gaza truce agreed, Israel says no deal yet     Roi Kais, Elior Levy
1. And at 12:01 a.m. ....
.... one or another of the terrorist elements in Gaza will fire another missile into Israel. Why on earth did we ever agree to this? It's only giving them time to regroup and re-arm. Moreover, Hamas has no control over some of the terrorist groups that operate in the Strip. I don't think Israel should stand down quite yet. The terrorists aren't through with us just yet.
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.20.12)
2. @1
I am right there with you Sarah B!!!
Linda ,   North Carolina   (11.20.12)
3. The Only Reason HAMAS wants a Hudna is to Resupply their
Missile supply and because their are being thrashed handily.
meir elazar   (11.20.12)
4. #1 'sarah b'
If you read the article the guarantor of the ceasefire is Egypt, not Hamas Besides with you being on the border between Gaza and Israel I thought you'd be relieved that you will not now be leading the invasion.
Sarah B ,   Tel Aviv/London   (11.20.12)
5. #1. And as long as there remains even one terrorist
left alive to shoot a rocket at Israel, or as long as one of their "leaders" sticks his head out of the sewer he is hiding in, or from a bunker under a hospital or a mosque, than Israel shouldn't be through with them either!
A ,   Belgium   (11.20.12)
6. Lull is not a ceasefire! It is a forboding word.
The definition of a lull means at best a subsidence of action, but not an elimination of crossfire. It is a very temporary condition. It is very unsettling, perhaps for the residents of Israel, to hear the term "lull."
Essie HaKohane ,   FL USA   (11.20.12)
7. and where was this putz ban when the rockets were falling?
Really, where was everyone who is now screaming for restraint? Why was not a word heard from them condemning the terrorists? Well, we really do know why, but they lost their credibility when they refused to condemn the terrorists acts for years. Now, when we finally decide that enough is enough, they all have big mouths? No, sorry, screw yourselves. We should carpet bomb those animals and when the world complains, ask them where they were when they could have made a difference!
frank ,   rehovot   (11.20.12)
8. cease fire
Our neutral cease fire broker Morsi, just said, this truce will stop the "Aggression"by Israel ,BIBI wake-up ,what will you do if another rocket hit Israel ,will you call the reserve again ,don't be a fool !!!
jack ,   NETANYA ISRAEL   (11.20.12)
9. Hamas has said there is an agreement. Regev said not yet.
So as far as I can see Israel has NOT agreed to anything yet. Maybe we dont like their terms or maybe we just have not done enough damage to their rocket stock pile yet,
rebecca ,   Modiin   (11.20.12)
10. @7 I heard Ban was in Jerusalem when the sirens went off.
rebecca ,   Modiin   (11.20.12)
11. if this truce isnt for years its all been a waste of time
If this truce is just the usual Hamas agrees to a truce last a couple of months then things flare up abit so Israel retaliates and that leads to another truce agreement until that ends. If all we are negotiating for is a glorified version of that then there was no point to holding an expensive air campaign because we could have easily negotiated another short term thing. This truce must last at least 5 years and Egypt must do more to stop weapons smuggling into Gaza so if the truce breaks down then we won't be dealing with a fully rearmed Hamas. For his own sake Bibi better have got this right because if he doesn't come out of this looking like the strong man people will loose faith in him and it wouldn't surprise me if Likud voters turned to Yair Lapid who knows how to sell himself as all things to all people.
zionist forever   (11.20.12)
12. Israel.....you did good !!!!!!!
in any event.......Hamas was dealt a harsh blow wether they want to admit it or not. Israel intelligence is second to none !
alsky ,   Toronto   (11.20.12)
13. The likud better dump bibi and pick another
leader or they lose the next election. Israel does not need cowards like bib, barak and the rest of this coalition of the feeble.
jason white ,   afula, israel   (11.20.12)
14. What is the terms of Truce?Hamas must request a pair of Nuke
What is the terms of Truce?Hamas must request a pair of Nukes from Israel as a guarantee, Netenyahu looks cornered and may give anything requested and it is time to request
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (11.20.12)
15. Der Strumer have spoken. Merkavas are going in.
Miron ,   USA   (11.20.12)
16. Hurry up Israel restore electricity in Gaza.
Parts of Gaza have lost electrical power. Hurry up and fix it Israel so their rocket factories can resume production. [/sarcasm off]
naro ,   nyc   (11.20.12)
17. Ive seen this movie before
If hamas will not call off their openly declared jihad against us and amend their charter that calls for our destruction-then whats the point.
Arik   (11.20.12)
18. "Netanyahu spokesman: We're not there yet". - Good!

michael redbourn ,   Arad Israel   (11.20.12)

20. #10. Indeed he was
He wet his pants.
A ,   Belgium   (11.20.12)
21. Israel has a right to exist.
Unless the cease fire includes all factions recognizing Israel and their right to exist, as well as a public announcement to an end to armed struggle this will all be a waist of time.
Daniel ,   Tracy USA   (11.20.12)
22. last moment aggression

TEL EM STRAIGHT ,   SAFED OPERA HOUSE   (11.20.12)
24. another bitter and embarrassing defeat for Israel
of course it shouldn't come as a surprise, with a criminally insane pathetic cowardly leftist self hating government running this country, did we expect a different result? Israel has lost all the respect and fear the Arabs once had, well they actually lost their own self respect, a few thousand Hammas terrorist's fought the IDF to a virtual draw, Israel under this traitorous regime has become the punching bag and the laughing stock of the middle east. This sorry spectacle has not missed the eyes of Hezbbolah, they just saw how bombarding Israel with thousands of rockets has absolutely no consequences, they just got a green light to unleash their approximately 40,000 rockets on Israel,it is only a matter of time and they will do exactly what Hamas has done, This cowardly self hating government, has turned all of Israel into a new version of the Warsaw ghetto, where millions of jews have to hide in underground bunkers,in fear of their lives Citizens of Israel is this why you had to come back to your god given homeland? People of Israel,in the forthcoming elections, please please vomit out this cowardly self hating leftist regime

27. Dont you know that politicians are all the same
Right, left, they all walk the line. The results are going to be the same regardless.
Ryan ,   Netanya   (11.20.12)
28. Egyptian Guarantees
Well, we now have the fox guarding the henhouse! Egypt, led by Morsai, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, a group that wants Israel destroyed is now guaranteeing Hamas will behave. ( until they are restocked and ready to go) Israel MUST continue to the end. We can not play this game every 2-3 years. It is ridiculous and we look weaker and weaker in the eyes of the world.
Ellen ,   Israel/NYC   (11.20.12)
29. Truce
I am in profound and sad disbelief that Israel has not learned from experience and has failed to finish what it began.
karmel usa   (11.20.12)
30. *sigh*
PM I can't believe you would even consider a truce at this point! How very sad.
