31. The lessons that Bibi did not learn
Miche Norman ,   Hod Hasharon   (11.21.12)
The lesson learned in every single military conflict in history is that you cannot win it from the air. And Bibi did not learn it. The next lesson is that we only have a few days to act, and that the terrorists only have to cause about 90 civilian deaths on their side before world opinion turns against us and the land operation that is needed cannot take place. And the third lesson that Bibi did not learn, is that even though the bigotted racist who passes himself off as the Minister of the Interior suggests that the solution is blasting the gazans back into the Stone age, we are not in a position to do so because we are Jewish and because unlike $ha$$ we have values.
32. next time hamas will have fajir 25
proper observer?   (11.21.12)
with nuclear war heads.. are you stupid how do you surrender now.
33. not there yet
peter ,   metz   (11.21.12)
Hamas' strategy was at least 2200 to 2500 dead Palestinians. Including significant numbers of babies and grandmothers. Until they reach their public relations goal, I don't see any agreement from their side.
34. Iran
Philip ,   London, UK   (11.21.12)
The Ayatollahs must be laughing. They know that they can now enrich to 90% without fear. G-d forbid Netanyahu attacks Iran. It will be a disaster.
35. Ofcourse they will stop with the rockets,
Ze'ev ,   USA   (11.21.12)
they will be too busy celebrating their defeat of Israel! What on earth is the Israeli gov thinking? If this operation was about helping the terrorists with their self-esteem then, way to go Israel!
36. The return on Bibi's investment.
Miche Norman ,   Hodd Hasharon   (11.21.12)
After investing more than a billion Shekels of our money in the operation, what has Bibi acheived? Firstly he has exposed to the Iranians that the Iron dome does not perform so well when faced with multiple bursts of rockets. Secondly he has weakend Abu Mazen and strengthened Hammas, with debate in Europe now about supporting his UN bid so as to support him. He has expended political capital that we need against Iran. He has exposed himself as someone who is incapable of making the big decisions losing seats for his party in the Knesset to more right wing parties for people of that inclination who believe that we can blast the Hammas into silence and to those whose brains actually function who realize that we do not have the diplomatic strength to blast the Hammas of the face of the earth and that perhaps we need to try a different tactic. What he has not achieved is peace for Sderot
37. All praise to the Minister of Defense
Miche Norman ,   Hod Hasharon   (11.21.12)
No -not Ehud Barak who did not have the wisdom to understand that after the earlier of 5 days or 100 dead civilians world opinion will create conditions in which the land assault that is needed will have to halt and so in this case it never even started. No I mean the Minister of Defense who had the foresight in the face of the storm of scorn to launch the Iron Dome project - the game changer which altered the situation in our favor if only our current leaders had the intelligence to take advantage of it.
38. #21
(11.21.12)
It appears that idiots are produced in both "countries" too
39. you have got to be kidding me
the mad Zionist ,   sf-ny-is   (11.21.12)
even if hamas was wiped out they will declare a victory, if you were to listen to the Arabs, they always say Israel lost in 48, 56, 67, and 73. but the goal has always been to wipe out Israel and they have never succeeded, Israel never declared their goal is to wipe out hamas this time but this operation will be seen as a major failure, even though Israel has damaged hamas and their stockpiles drastically, but hamas started this battle by the months and years of constant rocket fire on IsraelI civilians, and then Israel launched this operation and now Israel had the worst 2 days and now have accepted to ease the blockade. how in the hell did this happen? how is it that Israel is getting nothing but the same sh#t they got aftercast lead except Now they lift the blockade. this will strengthen hamas and for the first time in history they are being legitimized by standing up to Israel. Israel should have launched a ground op, cleaned out hamas and propped up abbas in Gaza and allow Fatah police to take charge but now hamas is even stronger and abbas is weaker. what a joke Israeli leaders have become. sad day
40. Big Mistake
Moshe ,   Givataim   (11.21.12)
We are making a big mistake if we agree on this. We need to SMASH them with NO MERCY especially after today. Please NO PEACE until HAMAS is VANISHED
41. #29
(11.21.12)
Losing is seeing Netanyahu licking Morsi's and Mashaal'a boots while Clinton and Obama jeer and Jewish children cower in bomb shelters.
42. Be ready
Amram ,   Toronto, Canada   (11.21.12)
for the jubilant Hamas celebrating a great victory against Israel. The rockets will resume - if they ever really stop - when they have replenished the stocks and rebuilt the terror machine. And this time they will be capable of shooting down IAF planes. Then what do we do?
43. Again????
Dan ,   USA   (11.21.12)
I know I am not at the front and it's not my child in uniform, so I say this carefully. But this is a repetitive pattern: Hamas provokes Israel, Israel starts to respond, then Israel pulls back. The only way to end a war is to either win it outright or for both sides to sign a peace treaty. Since Palestinians won't sign a peace treaty it is time to defeat them: on the battlefield and to do it completely and decisively. There should be no doubt as to who wins and there should be complete forced surrender of Hamas. Then Gazans and Israelis will have peace. That is the way of the world. This just sets things up for the next round of fighting.
44. You will dearly pay for that, Bibi.
Mira ,   Vienna   (11.21.12)
You may already start to clear your office.
45. Fajr 75 and 100 coming your way until...
lynx ,   ps   (11.21.12)
Palestine is free
46. Netanyahu couldn't get it to work to his advantage
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (11.21.12)
Now it will work to his disadvantage. He will still probably win the Premiership, but with less of a margin of victory. I for one will not vote for him, when before all this I might have.
47. What A Disgrace!!!
Josh Ebert ,   Chicago, IL   (11.21.12)
The only solution is a military solution, as in ground invasion, anything less is a reward to Hamas. I have lost respect for Bibi.
48. Defend God's People
Pastor ,   Raleigh US   (11.21.12)
Since terrorist are who they are (including Obama), I think Israel should launch a massive ground and air assault on Gazaand anyone else who gets in the way. Eliminate them all together. If not, you will just come back to this again.
49. #21 - what, you didn't learn your lesson the first time?
William ,   Israel   (11.21.12)
I suppose another 8 days of war per Fajr fired is what you need to get the message. Fine by me. Though Hamas and Gazans might disagree with you.
50. what would putin do?
The Truth ,   New York   (11.21.12)
"Israel is expected to accept Clinton's request and is aware that the terror groups in Gaza will continue firing for a while before holding their fire as well"???? WEAK!, VERY WEAK!!...Israeli leadership has to make an example out of this once and for all...whats the point of having the 10th strongest military in the world if u surrender to home made rockets bombing your citizens...we need stronger leadership in Israel, one that will never be tested again...you have to ask yourself...what would Putin do?
51. No ceae fire until all major Hamas targets have been
Alex   (11.21.12)
destroyed.
52. We should all be ashamed...
Ram ,   London   (11.21.12)
...for Israel's cowardly cease fire. Netanyahu, Barak and Lieberman have a lot to answer for. They sold out the citizens of the South. Time and again Israel does a half botched up job. Quiet will only be achieved with a ground attack, regardless of the painful cost that will come with it. That is how wars go unfortunately. Harav Amnon Itzchak was right when months ago he criticised the government for finding a dribble of rockets acceptable rather than show zero tolerance.
53. Netanyahu's cabinet.....
Shalom ,   U.S.A.   (11.21.12)
If ther is one decent man in that cabinet, he should resign! The hell with antisemitic b....!
54. #45 - please do
William ,   Israel   (11.21.12)
a longer range means you can actually hit your brothers in the West Bank when you aim for Israel's eternal capital, Jerusalem. What poetic justice, huh? You probably didn't get the message we delivered over the past 8 days so if you need a reminder, we'll be happy to oblige. Violence has never gotten you what you want except to soothe your humiliated ego. Why not try something else for a change....for the sake of your children, the human shields.
55. hold your fire?
mendy ,   rbsa, israel   (11.21.12)
BIGGEST damn mistake you can make,,,,,,,,,, just like Gush Katif ect ect.. ..................................................
56. Fajr Schmajr 5 25 75 100 1000 all ineffective
(11.21.12)
57. all for a cessation of hostilities now
Arn ,   Yehud, Israel   (11.21.12)
If there really will be a cessation of hostilities at this time I would welcome it and applaud Bibi and co. 99% of the talkbacks here are raging against Bibi but they a) don't live here, and b) they are letting emotions translate as good thinking. They are wrong. The Gazan's will not be firing any rockets or mortars into Sderot and surroundings for a long long time. They never expected the physical devastation that the IAF rained down on them - and they won't want to hear more of the same bombs exploding now or ever again. They never expected the Iron Dome to be as effective as it proved to be. (And weren't we just as surprised.) What could an invasion accomplish that the IDF didn't? Destroying Hamas? And after that? occupying Gaza? And what will come after Hamas??? Peace??? No. Israel focuses on industry and commerce. War is a waste of time and resources. By the time the next round of hostilities comes around Israel will have 50 Iron Domes with a billion dollar export industry to countries who will beg for them. Iran and Hizboillah have been given a lot to learn.
58. Why?
Moshe ,   Givataim   (11.21.12)
Why are we doing this mistake? At least let's bomb them the whole night, until no bomb is left. And if they would like to come to visit us, then no problem... We should TAKE CARE of them, so they will NEVER forget thier VISIT and will never come BACK
59. Cease fire
Lori ,   Phoenix USA   (11.21.12)
Since when to liars and killers have dignity?
60. If Hamas won, I don't want to see what losing looks like
hmp49 ,   Asheville NC USA   (11.21.12)
Depleted their long range rockets, numerous high level commanders taken out, the rest afraid to stick their heads above ground. They can try to put lipstick on a pig, Israel achieve much of their goals.
