61. Once again, the 'danse macabre'
rob ,   Orangevale, U.S.A.   (11.22.12)
Ray Bradbury, Steven King or the rest of the horror genre, have yet to broach this terrible chapter of human history. All those that revel in horror take notice. The 'danse' continues. Never again? Really? Shalom Israel, Rob
62. Israel's dependency on USA is toxic
fLAVIO ,   Sao Paulo, Brazil   (11.22.12)
One of the most depressing consequences otf the Arab-Israeli conflict is the ever increasing dependency on USA. Israel is relentlessly becoming a pariah in the eyes of most European and third world countries (obviously it is unfair and derives also from antisemitism, nevertheless it is a sad truth) and is depending more and more on the US goodwill and political, military and economic support. This is extremely dangerous, for the jewish community leverage on American politics (lobby, AIPAC, etc) is steadily declining, as well as the very importance of Israel for American Jewry, a shrinking, increasingly assimilated and intermarried community. It is very bad to be so much dependent on the goodwiil of one single country like these, subject to orders emanating from Washington DC. I know it is not easy to reach a lasting peace, a long term solution for the Palestinian problem, but some kind of agreement seem to be the only possible way out in the mid term - better sooner than later, for otherwise the context may be different, much more hostile, and the isolation of Israel might be too big a burden for Israelis to withstand.
63. Hahaha! Like Hamas Is In Charge!
musicwriter4life ,   USA   (11.22.12)
The rockets will continue unabated until Israel goes in and kills ALL the idiots who want to destroy it. Mark my words. It isn't over until the fat Hamas lady can't sing because she is dead...
64. No 20
Michael ,   Australia   (11.22.12)
Maybe Michael's think alike but I reckon you are spot on. The ceasefire has been predictably breached by those morons in Gaza so there is every excuse now to double Israeli efforts to end this thing for good. Just keep bombing the crap out of these devious lying excuses for human beings. Unfortunately, those that are innocent in Gaza are less important than free thinking Israeli's. That is the cost of war!
65. Pound those barbarians til they submit
Zorro ,   NYC   (11.22.12)
66. Hudna is a joke played by believers on useful idiots,.
PETER SM ,   AUSTRALIA   (11.22.12)
67. #18. Steve: I concur with you.
(11.22.12)
68. #18. Steve: The writing was on the wall
Tom W ,   USA   (11.22.12)
When the American leftist Jewish establishment poured untold amount of money and propaganda support for Obama, - knowing his animosity toward Israel, the coming end of Israel was a "fait accompli". No amount of spin will change the situation: the dissolution of Israel is in the works and it's progressing at astronomical pace. Only few weeks after Obama's reelection the Islamists felt confident enough to start the war. There were many decent Americans who stood by Israel and now they are humiliated: we cannot be more pope than the pope...it's time to leave Israel to their fate.
69. Before everyone hangs Bibi
John ,   NY USA   (11.22.12)
I am not a Jew nor am I an Israeli by birth. In my heart I am an Israeli as much as JFK was a Berliner. Bibi may have come out on top of world opinion this time. By not proceeding with a ground invasion, he has not alienated the rest of the world. I still need someone to explain to me how you invade a territory that the UN says you occupy. Back to my comment. If the rockets keep coming Bibi can invade and the world will have to admit he tried and this is his last resort. By getting Egypt to commit to bringing Hamas into obedience with the terms of the cease fire, Israel may be lucky enough to hand this whole mess to Egypt. In that case Israel can build a big wall and let Gaza be Mr. Morsi's headache. I am starting to think that Bibi is crazy like a fox!
70. be wise (bolton)
dave   (11.22.12)
as a jewish man lives in uk, telling you stop being stupid i guess none likes to be killed or in the place of gilad enough is enough
71. Once again BB and the right wing fascists fail again
Haim ,   TA   (11.22.12)
Another failure on behalf of BB , Liberman and the right wing fascists goverment. Just a matter of time before the rockets continue to fire on the south again.
72. Just when I thought it was safe to come out of hiding...
Sarah B ,   U.S.A./Israel   (11.22.12)
Rockets were falling all around me. I guess Hamas was trying to assassinate me, but guess what? I have nine live and am still around...lol
73. Rockets after the sieze fire, so?
Marco ,   Spain   (11.22.12)
Too bad, nothing you can do about it other than stick your tail between your legs and limp along whimpering in disbelief at the loss of your deterrence...
74. Obama ended Bibi career
nphtlm ,   capone county,il   (11.22.12)
The great relations spoken about are obviously Ob admin cradling a scared bibi into submission. If polls are correct the strategy to end Bibi was successful.
75. 20 and counting
Don Cole ,   Hood River US   (11.22.12)
The cease fire has held just like I expected it would. The IDF has ceased fire and the Palestinians have fire 20 rockets and counting. The only way to have a real cease fire is to remove all rockets from Gaza then there will be true peace.
76. ceasefire
pal skala ,   canada   (11.22.12)
cut off the water and electricty and see who wins
77. One thing I'm quite sure about is that Bibi will Sacrifice
Avan   (11.22.12)
Himself or His election for his Country so hopefully I'm right... The outcome is I think under control. Because now the Muslim Countries will focus on Syria (Shiite for Assad and Sunni for Rebels) and then... Civil war spreads out of Syria to other Muslim countries... So They fight each other. And when they are weakened enough, Israel will jump in and finish them off. Again Hopefully I'm right.
78. Gaza Terrorist,Israel Not
PS ,   Palestine   (11.22.12)
Gaza Terrorist because they hit Israel a rockets ,Israel Not terrorist when they hit Gaza with F16 airplane killing children and women..how come?
79. why Egypt?
observer ,   Egypt   (11.22.12)
because Egypt practically controls the Rafah crossing. Palestinians demanded that Rafah crossing be allocated for passing Persons and goods directly. Palestinians don't trust that Egypt can make Israel continue to keep other crossings e.g. Krem Shalom open. Palestinians believe that Israelis are not iota trusted.
80. Bibi giving Obama the benefit of the doubt
Joe Mtl   (11.22.12)
And as a result Israeli lives are in danger and the population will sleep with one eye open. Obama and his family will sleep tight in the safety of the USA, knowing rockets will not land on their house in the middle of the night.
81. The Mainstream Media Should Be Ashamed
elizabethlynne ,   Dallas, Texas!   (11.22.12)
Let us be honest: Israel faces an old foe: Anti-Semitism and the blind hatred that warps the minds of those who hold those sick views. Hiding what is essentially a Nazi philosophy under "concern for the Palestinians", those who hold such views are dangerous people. It is rampant in the media sources whose journalists twist, distort and manipulate the consumers of their "news". It's widespread and violent in Europe and in the US, especially among Democrats (the reason I left the party after being a Blue Dog Democrat all my life). It is the media sources that tie the hands of Israeli leaders. I heard one moronic reporter say that the Iron Dome was really not a defensive strategy but one that would lead Israel to more aggression.... Distorts, lies of omission, outright lies...very difficult to fight those. I boycott those sources except for "bias checks".
82. Reply to 18
elizabethlynne ,   Dallas, Texas!   (11.22.12)
Obama has never been a friend to Israel, and the press in the EU and in the US is anti-Israel, so much so that distortions and bias characterize all their reporting. Israel has been stabbed in the back by the US under Obama. What choices do they have? The leaders in the EU and the US don't even want Israel to be able to defend its citizens, and these are the groups who make the least effort to protect civilians in their own military operations, now and in the past. Dresden???The allies bombed it to bits, civilians and all.
83. lol
john ,   canada   (11.22.12)
israel gets more than enough money from america. do a google search.
84. This is the way to begin....
Shalom ,   U.S.A.   (11.22.12)
And this this the way it will end.
85. if Israel does not inflict unbearable pain
Barney ,   USA   (11.22.12)
on gaza then this has been an exercise in futility. they should be using candles to see at night and trying to figure out how to feed theri people. the fat hamas leaders are very comfortable. let their people feel the pain and then maybe a lull will come. unleash the pain Israel. you are within your full rights.
86. #57 Ceasefire is NOT a Truce
BEN JABO (MACHAL) ,   ISRAEL   (11.22.12)
It is merely a lull in the fighting
87. #48 i hope you are right, and come guys
Arlene ,   Israel   (11.22.12)
lets calm down, let the savages have their day, as they wont be able to resist a rocket or 2 on Israel, and who knows what deal has gone down with the USA. We are the only ones that dont burn their flag in this area! Patience people, let the south enjoy some quiet for now. We need the US, like the palies need Iran and anyone else that will help them destroy themselves.
88. Haniyeah's last request
Avi Israeli ,   Modiin, Israel   (11.22.12)
Haniyeh: "Oh, before you go, I have one last request Mrs. Secretary". Hillary: "Yes, Ismail" Haniyeh: "I want this Zionist defeat to become known in the media as the Palestinian's "8 Day War". Hillary: "I love it. I'll speak to our friends at the NY Times, ABC and MSNBC. You'll start hearing the term used by the weekend. Wikipedia will have it up on their servers today". Ismail: "Grrrreat!"
89. Common, just one more shot
Avi Israeli ,   Modiin, Israel   (11.22.12)
Hillary: "We're getting reports of continued rocket attacks from Gaza into Israel all night. Ismail, I thought we agreed to lay low for a few days. What's going on?" Ismail:"Those rockets don't count. We ran out of fireworks so we used our remaining stock of Fajr-3's. Just, you know, celebration". Hillary: "Ohhh, now I understand. In that case, we're good!"
90. Next step
Fredrik T ,   Sweden   (11.22.12)
would perhaps be to engage Hizbullah and ideally, in a swift aerial assault take out the majority of their missiles during a couple of days of operations. Had that been accomplished 2 of Iran's second strike capabilities would be severly detoriated shold an Iran strike come up in the 2013 Q1 or so. Perhaps there is a bigger plan behind this?
