61. Haim Tel Aviv
David ,   Haifa   (11.25.12)
Where yuo hiding for 8 days? Whose bed were you under? Left wing COWARD!
62. 60 Brainwashing will do that to a person
Avi   (11.25.12)
I actually heard a Rabbi say: If you can't understand it, then you just need to accept it as true. No need to use your brain in a cult, just blind devotion.
63. #61 David and his ilk
Haim ,   TA   (11.25.12)
Sorry was busy on reserve duty, unlike you and your ilk the parasites that dont serve in the IDF and milk the country dry for every sheckel they can get their dirty little mits on.
64. Ora , 55 Einstein WAS relevant for you
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (11.25.12)
when you said that he believed in god !
65. It's important
גבי ,   ירושלים   (11.25.12)
It's important to examine the past, such as the Oslo Accords and the disengagement, in order to understand the present, which is often analyzed out of context. This would give a clearer picture of how we got where we are, as opposed to the usual scoops that seem to be reactive rather than proactive.
66. Reply to Number 1 IDF service
Sherlock Holmes ,   London England   (11.25.12)
If you read the first sentence, you will discover 'Rabbi Melamed is a 'prominent Religious Zionism rabbi'. As you know Religious Zionists consider it a mitzvah to serve in the IDF. Does that answer your point? As you also know quite a large number of secular Leftists in Tel Aviv also avoid IDF service.
67. Number 3. Which rabbi are you talking about?
Joe ,   Baltimore, USA   (11.25.12)
Rabbi Melamed is none of the things you suggest and I suspect you have never read his column in Arutz Sheva. He is a voice of reason, and he is a genuine religious Zionist committed to rebuilding the Holy Land as a Jewish homeland. The star of David has been used in many societies with many meanings. It was first used in a synagogue in the 1840's. What evidence do you have for such libels as saying the rabbi is 'a scoundrel, a hypocrite and a crook'. If you cannot provide your evidence then it is you who are at fault.
68. 4 Sky Fairy
Danny ,   London England   (11.25.12)
Which of Rabbi Melamed's points have you replied to? His article is well reasoned and based on a range of authentic Jewish sources. Yours seems to lack any sources. Are you part of the rent-a-mob group who write in attacking anything any Rabbi says, with no attempt at a reasoned reply?
69. 14 Leftist media bias
Sherlock Holmes ,   London England   (11.25.12)
The Left have not been out of the media coverage of Israel, whether it be the BBC, Guardian, Independent, Haaretz or many other Israeli and foreign media. He refers to the media over and over. Have you not read the article carefully?
70. 56 Rabbinic Judaism
Joseph ,   London UK   (11.25.12)
There have always been groups or streams who tried to disconnect the Written Law from the Oral Tradition. The Saducees, the Karaites and the Classical Reform Movement in 19th Century Germany. The Saducees and Karaites have disappeared as movements and the Classical Reform has returned to quite a lot of Tradition or Rabbinic Judaism. Rabbinic Judaism is an ongoing response to new situations, applying eternal principles to solve new problems.
71. Number 50 Civil discourse
Joseph ,   London UK   (11.25.12)
Part of a free society is that people have the right to argue their point of view and others have the right to offer a reasoned reply. Like you David, I'm also from London and I would wager that the majority of observant Jews in London [even just Shomer Shabbos] would agree with Rabbi Melamed that the loony Left media do great damage with their bias. You yourself must see the BBC, Guardian, Haaretz and Independent with their bias against Israel.
72. 60 Cyberbrain, you need ...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (11.25.12)
some reprogramming,to fix your short-sightness.
73. 62 Belief begins where reason ends.
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (11.25.12)
74. 70 Give them enough time it will be unrecognizable
Charles   (11.25.12)
Amazing how what was once forbidden is now halachally accepted. Sometimes the solution is worse than the problem. Keep changing and evolving and pretty soon the already tenuous connection with the Tanach will be all but imaginary.
75. leftist trash
Dr. Moshe Israel   (11.26.12)
YOU are the criminal with this type of thinking. You do not even respect different ideas than your foolish ones. Freedom of speech is a fundamental right even in your deluded world!
76. connection with Tanach
Dr. Moshe Israel   (11.26.12)
Your comment is so obtuse that it tends to reflect much ignorance!!
77. The left is dangerously wrong on every single major issue.
Chaim ,   Israel   (11.26.12)
The TBs critical of the good Rabbi don't contain even a hint of a rational argument. They are full of nothing but demonization. As the Rabbi notes, the truth is readily available. One can see prominent leftist "intellectuals" on video telling us what a great idea Oslo was. What a great idea Disengagement was...The left has been dangerously wrong about every single major issue since Israel was established. That is an incontrovertible fact.
