1. Yes but of the160 killed,at least 120 were TERRORISTS
Alan ,   SA   (11.23.12)
2. I was watching out for Syria
Mark ,   London, UK   (11.23.12)
....and there was absolutely NOTHING in the British press for 8 days. Nuking Aleppo would probably have gone unreported.
3. #1 WRONG!
(11.23.12)
About 2/3 of those killed were woman and children, as reported widely, except by the Israeli propaganda machine. You think that every Palestinian man, woman and child is a "terrorist" whereas I think that every jewish child is a potential IDF, IAF, INF mercenary, and every Israeli adult jew is a potential settler thug!
4. !! Next Please !!
z ,   UpTown   (11.23.12)
5. Compassionate?
David ,   London, England   (11.23.12)
Damned with faint praise! I can just see the Syrians dropping leaflets with warnings and phoning people on their mobiles warning them to get out of the area to avoid harm. Israel easily won this simply by demonstrating that they reluctantly take action and when they do they take as much care as possible in protecting innocents. Does any part of the thinking Islamic world seriously believe that they are any further forward in gaining their victory? Of course not. Arab countries routinely claim victory to justify their actions. They also routinely believe their own propaganda which is never good. They have not had one victory since the State of Israel was declared. It's about time they stopped fighting to the last drop of Palestinian blood that they say they care so much about.
6. The most important lesson...
Jonathan   (11.23.12)
... is to see how the world allows Assad to do whatever he likes, and the UN still blindly supports him, it did not matter how many times the Israelis have filed complaints against Assad and the Hizbulla. Still not clear to me, how come the UN approved an Israeli state, but the UN is so biased against it. We just sit here, learning how history unfolds itself... real-time hypocracy. If there is some justice in the world, the world will be honest enough to realize the ramifications of giving the Hamas a world-wide recognition. My number 1 lesson is that it's not that the world does not know what the Hamas is doing to the citizen and children of Gaza. People know exactly what is going on. It's just the UN and others have 'other' conflicting interests. Bringing a true peace, or calmness to the area, is certainly not one of them.
7. haniyeh shoots off his mouth
marv   (11.23.12)
while the hypocrite hanieyh sends hsi sisters to israeli hosptials for care and meshall lies through his teeth after having activated the tel aviv bus bomb. israel will not continue to be crying from gazan rockets while gazans enjoy gazan protection under goldstone rules(notice how quiet he is now while gazans committed double war crimes). Under new laws of warfare against governing guerilla groups like hamas and hezbollah, it is now announced that gazans and lebanese will be rocketed proportionally(hamas sent 1500 rockets, israel or its people if the governemtn is unwilling, will be sending 1500 rockets directly into gazans, directly. new elections will see barak gone, and there will be a fight within likud since netanyahu has clearly demonstrated that he submits to either us or morsi pressure. netanyahu will have to rotate pm ship with liberman or in fact resign as he really should since he is the wrong person to lead israel in the upcoming challenges.
8. #3-No Hamas Propaganda Machine?
Koose E Mack ,   NY NY   (11.23.12)
If every Fakestinian has the same bellicose hateful attitude towards Israelis, this conflict will continue ad infinitum. It is unfortunate that in the course of Israel's military strikes innocent men, woman, and children were killed. On the other hand, the deaths were totally preventable....Don't shoot rockets at Israel and there will be no military retaliation. Simple equation: No Rockets=Peace Rockets=War. Please educate your fellow Fakestinians.
9. Human rights?
Danny ,   London England   (11.23.12)
Isn't the total killed in Syria somewhere about 40,000 Syrians, mainly civilians? Which Muslim regime has shown concern for human rights for its own citizens? Iraq? Iran? Afghanistan?
10. Defend your nation
Brod ,   USA   (11.23.12)
Kinder is not what you do to enemies who are hell bent on your destruction. The Islamist-Jihadist Hitlerites are hell bent on effecting a Holocaust on Israel. Kinder would facilitate their evil intention.
11. #3
diana ,   buenos aires, argent   (11.23.12)
Right, 2/3 are civilians who allowed their "Sweet Leaders" locate their rockets, guns, etc by their houses. in Gaza city, instead of located them in the abundant oprn fields. I am sure that the "Sweet Leaders" familiest went to protective bunkers........
12. Arabs (and Iranians) are laughing at Bibi-the-Clown
naro ,   nyc   (11.23.12)
Iran must be having a good laugh at Bibi the Clown. What a paper tiger. Israel spent almost a billion dollars and could not defeat little puny Gaza that has no weapons to speak of. Iran has ten thousand times the number of rockets and weapons. Israel showed itself to be a gutless bunch of sissies who don't deserve their own country. A joke among nations led by Bibi the Clown and his sidekick-the cross dressing- Barak.
13. Bibi haletzahn is funnier then any cartoon.
bibiisalaugh. ,   jerusalem   (11.23.12)
14. IDF was kinder?
graczek ,   Maryland, USA   (11.23.12)
In truth, it was, and Assad's tactics are unspeakable. However, the basic situation is that as horrid as Syria is, it remains a legitimate sovereign state whereas Israel is not. For that reason, despite its "kindness", the IDF is more criminal that Assad because it fights for an illegitimately existing political entity.
15. #3 is correct
Jared ,   Stillwater USA   (11.23.12)
# 3 whoever you are, wherever you maybe, I agree with you 100%. The wold knows it except in the USA
16. Arab "Victory"
karmel usa   (11.23.12)
How sad and pathetic that (all of) Araby continues to wallow in the delusional fantasy that their "leaders" perpetuate. How many more decades and centuries must pass before they awake from this absurd dream and confront reality? Until then, they will suffer from this self-imposed misery.
17. Who died and made you God?
(11.23.12)
18. Graczek #
Brod ,   USA   (11.23.12)
You sound more like the typical Islamist-Jihadists wallowing in their cesspool of hate for Israel. The fact is the Land of Israel belongs to Israel since ancient time long before the emergence of Arab Islamists from the Bottomless Pit of Arabia in the 7th century. Stop usurping the Land of Israel from the Jews.
19. #14 Grazek: ask the dead Syrians their view of your analysis
Rafi ,   US   (11.23.12)
20. To #3
Motty ,   Canada   (11.23.12)
You seem to be counting the pictures reported by the CNN's & BBC's of this world where they took the pictures from the Syrian massacres and attributed them to the Gazan conflict. You my friend have along with all your brethren and the bleeding heart liberals seemed to have been duped yet again.
21. #14, No state is a "legitimate" political entity
Jake ,   USA   (11.23.12)
No state has the right to exist, but rather the will to exist. The Jewish nation-state of Israel exists because of our will to build & defend it. Palestine will never exist because there is not a strong enough will among those that call themselves Palestinian to build & defend such an entity. Palestine is the name of a region, it was never the name of a nation, and the Arabs know that.
22. #3, Google: "World Duped"
Jake ,   USA   (11.23.12)
Hamas goal during wartime is to cause major civilian casualties (in Gaza and Israel) and to tarnish Israels image. Neither of those goals were accomplished so they kick & scream about "2/3 women & children" which is so obviously false.
23. # 15
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (11.23.12)
You and number 3 only prove that PT Barnum was right.
24. Grazcek-great to see you here again...
Moose Zubree ,   NY NY   (11.23.12)
Its good that you crawl out of your sewer and get some sun.
25. why israel won
western observer ,   new york   (11.23.12)
despite the nonsense in the arab media... this is the reason that israel CLEARLY won. Gaza was pulverized. The attacks on Jerusalem and Tel Aviv were a huge tactical mistake. First of all, the attack on jerusalem demonstrates that the city does not hold any special meaning to arabs/muslims. They will not be ably to claim the holiness of jerusalem and explain how they fired missiles at it. Second, the attacks on tel aviv will further cause a shift of the public opinion to the right because, even the left wingers, now see what a palestinian state in gaza and the west bank would do to their quality of life. While gaza was attacking sderot, the left wing nuts were still singing their songs of peace and carving up the country. Those songs should be muted now. Third, israel demonstrated the awesome power of their technological know-how. These abilities will only increase and improve tremendously when all the lessons of the conflict are analyzed. Fourth, the palestinians are further now from having a state than they ever were. This final point is the ultimate reason that israel is the clear victor and the arabs are the clear losers in the conflict. The cries of arab "victories" are as empty now as they were in 1967 and 1973.
26.  To #3
Oleg ,   USA   (11.23.12)
Pals, and HAMAS especially are such a cowards, that they hide themselves among kids and wemen, so why wouldn't you tell the truth. I even remember how they were hiding in the church. If they will come out of their holes under holpitals, schools, kindergartens there would not be civilian practically deaths at all. Plus to this I would like to remind how those barbarians used to celebrate deaths of Israeli civilians going to streets and giving out sweets and candies. I do not recall the same done by Israelies, do you?
27. Arab Victory in Death and Destruction?
World Peace ,   Los Angeles, USA   (11.23.12)
Arabs declaring a victory in Gaza is like the fallen Knight in Monty Python's Holy Grail movie who has arms and legs cut off while bloviating about his opponents cowardice--all the while referring to his condition, and imminent demise as merely a flesh wound! If Arab terrorists didn't love death as much as Israelis and Democratic people of the world love life, they would have had their own state by now. Problem with Arab politics is they want to play chess with backgammon rules. They have to have all the pieces off the board in order to win. How's that plan seem to be working out for all the haters who crawl out from your sewer to troll this site?
28. #3 - reported widely by whom?
William ,   Israel   (11.23.12)
The constant reports I've seen from many news sources - none of them Israeli - was 161 dead, 74 civilians - of them 35 kids, 17 women, 22 men. I love your biased reporting "2/3 of killed were women and children" - so add men to that and your civilian count was what.....105% of the actual death count?
29. #14 - Israel only not sovereign in your mind
William ,   Israel   (11.23.12)
but for the majority of the planet and all intl institutions, Israel is not only sovereign but morally and legally legitimate more than the average State. We gained global majority vote for a State in our own homeland and did so without threats or violence - pure diplomacy. Whereas the Arab States were gifts to certain Arab families by the European imperialists after the fall of Ottoman Empire. Try to argue it any way you wish, but the intl silence on Israel's self-defense operation this past week says it all.
30. #12 - it wasn't a 1:1 fight
William ,   Israel   (11.23.12)
It was absolutely asymmetrical and Gazan terrorists used civilians as human shields. Had they fought the IDF, army to army, they would have been decimated and they know that. That's why 90% of Gazan terrorists hid deeply away, including in hospitals, to avoid being picked off. Yet we still found them and helped them towards their goal of martyrdom. Had Israel been on the same level as any other Arab State, the civilian death count and destruction would be 100x what it is today and Hamas would have been running through tunnels into Sinai. Alas, its the humanity of Israel that terrorist exploit and they admit that. If there is any moral argument for our own State, its this one. Conversely, its also an argument for why depraved "Palestinians" do not deserve a State of their own.
