The United Statesshould not be concerned about Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi's decision to assume sweeping powers, after all is way less powers than Barack Obama has at this very moment.

Beauchard ,   Amsterdam   (11.23.12)
This competition between Carter and Obama has to stop. Carter, "I caved in to Iran". Obama replying to Carter with a laugh, "I caved in to Iran and I lost Egypt. And I still have four more years of appeasement to go."

Ezra ,   San Diego USA   (11.23.12)
It's no secret that Washington is paying Morsi to cooperate. Lots of money! I think he feels pretty import about now, so why not become a puppet-dictator? Start calling him the Shaw of Egypt. See the pattern?
7. 31 billionn...
SusieScotland ,   Scotland   (11.23.12)
Did the great old USA not just give him 31 billion in aid for being a good boy and brokering a ceise fire between Hamas and Israel? Wel he has done that got the cash and boy is he gonna have fun sipping Egypt into an Islamic state. Good time to export the hijab to Egypt!

Ronnie ,   Australia   (11.24.12)
They are doing what their religion demands. Kill & murder, this includes your daughter, sister, mother or wife. Not to bad...kill your own and call our for Gods approval. They murder more of their own kind than the rest combined. Blow the big dam and everyone on the banks of the Nile is washed out to sea. The Egyptian military know this and have for a very long time. Thanks be to the Russians who built it.
9. To: No. 5

12. Duh! Did anyone expect something else?
david ,   Hartford USA   (11.24.12)
American foreign policy: idiocy compounded by delusion. State knows nothing, Hillary is a laughing stock to all Islamic leaders, O's 'leadership' is nil and basically anything any Muslim state wants to do is fine by the USA. Slaughter American diplomats? Ok! We'll blame it on a YouTube clip! Watch Syria self-destruct? No problemo- Assad is a reformer! Stand down when Iran's patriots try to take back their country? We might insult the regime! Boy, The US State Dept is captained by idiots and morons. When the RIGHT path is clear as daylight, they always do the wrong thing. Who voted to re-elect this team of appeasers and weaklings? Is this Obama's grand strategy? To let the entire middle east be taken over by hard-line Islamic nutjobs? If so, his plan is working out perfectly.
13. Obama the Amateur
Dan ,   Florida - Tel Aviv   (11.24.12)
While Obama thinks he is so wonderful Morsi got the better of him. After Obama let Morsi be the guarantor of the Gaza peace, Morsi decalred himself dictator. Obama cannot say anything or risk another Gaza war.
14. From Birdi's lips to G-d's ears
ASTRONAUT ,   ME, USA   (11.24.12)
Dear Birdi, may your words go to the ears of HaShem and may He keep Hillary away from the White House in 2016! But like her husband, she will NEVER go away. Don't doubt that she and Billy are eyeing that real estate at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue for another try in 4 years.
15. Our boob in the White House thinks Morsi a "democratic hero"
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego, USA   (11.24.12)

27. To: Birdi at No. 20
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.24.12)
Yeah, really. What a poor excuse for an American "president." Cuz' I just LOVE seeng my well over one million tax dollars paid to the U.S. Federal Treasury annually going to the support of tin-pot Arab tyrannical regimes .... Then again, I pay pretty much an equal amount in tax dollars to Israel. I wonder how much goes to provide terrorists in Gaza with fresh water, humanitarian aid and electricity .... We really have gone through Lewis Carroll's looking glass, haven't we?
28. US hypocrisy: Mubarak's 30 year dictatorship
Truther ,   UK   (11.24.12)
Mubarak ruled Egypt for 30 years and dominated the entire government with an iron fist, and the US never said a word. He jailed, tortured persecuted, bribed judges, and dissolved any parliament he didn't agree with. He also cheated in every single one of his elections. Now Morsi is giving himself immunity from courts which are packed with Mubarak's cronies.
29. Hilary's thank you went to his head...
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (11.24.12)
...and hence his thrust for sweeping powers... ...the Egyptian Army should sweep Morsi aside while they can..before he does an 'Erdogan' on them...and declare martial law until further notice..naturally, with a secret okay from the WH.... This will keep them busy and be good for Israel.... We have some bigger fish to fry....
30. US concerns about Morsi's moves
cita ,   welcome md USA   (11.24.12)
Why does Hillary always wear Palestinian green when she visits the Arabs? But never blue and white when she visits Israel... an indication of the side she and her boss are on maybe.
