after all we wouldnt want moshe getting too much power now would we? that might mean that likud might actually have to follow their platform for a change

... As a Likud member familiar with all sorts of candidates from the various branches to MKs and Ministers, I assure all the readers that no one wanted this to happen and no one benefited from it. Least of all Netanyahu. He's a great guy and he's just doing his best. He really just wanted everyone to have an equal chance in the elections. The party is not as fractured as it seems and the PM does not have any enemies in the party (just one importunate contender forhis seat; but he's always up for a good challenge). The hacker claim, without a doubt, was preemptively made to avoid financial liability. And that's really the whole story.
