31. #29 Look who they have to operate with
A ,   Belgium   (11.28.12)
as DefenseLESS Minister. At least he's leaving!
32. @2, Nick's question, Egypt border
Alice ,   Wonderland   (11.29.12)
Nick, Your question about how does the Egyptian govt justify sealing off the Gaza border. That is indeed an issue in Egypt, but understand that this is required by the treaty with Israel. Israel continues to claim the rights of an occupying power, and Egypt has recognised that. If Egypt were to break the treaty, it would have lots of repercussions for their international relations. Israel has determined that there will be only people, not goods, allowed across the border to Egypt. This is the policy of the blockade.
33. Another leftist loon seeks to help genocidists.
Chaim ,   Israel   (11.29.12)
The sheer stupidity and self destructiveness of this article is breath taking. Yet another leftist loon seeks to help Israel's genocidal enemies. Our enemies can only dream of endangering Israel as much as these dolts.
34. #20. Israel will retake Gaza permanently.
Chaim ,   Israel   (11.29.12)
It's only a matter of time. Courageous leaders, such as Moshe Feiglin, are heading to the Knesset at last.
35. To # 34
Stan ,   Israel   (11.29.12)
If Feiglin ever becomes prime minister GF, you will see that he will be just as pragmatic as Menachem Begin and Ariel Sharon before him.
36. To # 23 CONGRATULATIONS
Stan ,   Israel   (11.29.12)
on finally changing your permanent text
37. This guy smokes better pot than I do!
Jewish Mayhem ,   Canada   (11.29.12)
What a loon! This guy smokes better pot than I do! Gaza becoming a Hong Kong. Only a stoner would babble such idiocy, but what kind of a agrees to publish such babblings of a stoner, unless they all smoke together after work...
38. $1000 if anyone can refute #28!
Jo-Jo ,   Jerusalem   (11.29.12)
#28 is 100% correct. A far better reaction to this is the bi-national state where the Israeli army goes into Gaza, does house-to-house weapons searches for a while and when they feel like they got most of it, then the army would leave the populated areas. In those months, the Israeli ministry of Interior would issue Pal ID cards to everyone. After the army leaves, the Pal police from the west bank would come and take over and it would be like area A. Meanwhile Israel would extend Israeli sovereignty to the West Bank and Israeli police would operate in all of the West Bank.
39. Could Work
Zivron   (11.29.12)
I don't know Israel ought recognise Hamas but allowing trade in and convincing Egypt to let Palestinians have a more open border more regulated would be a first step.
40. Gaza is nothing like Hong Kong, will never be.
Hong Konger ,   Hong Kong, Hong Kong   (12.01.12)
We don't export terrorism, launch missiles at civilians and blow up buses with civilians on them. We are a peaceful island city built on finance and trade, not religious fanaticism, anti-semitism and handouts. If there were an example of a place that is the total opposite of Hong Kong, Gaza fits the bill.
