Yesterday I wrote on Facebook, "much ado about nothing?". But when I did so I was viewing the UN resolution with respect to whether the Palestinians gained much from it; and in my opinion they didn't. After Israel's announcement to not only build 3,000 homes in and beyond the green line but to also build between Jerusalem and Ma'ale Adumim, I reviewed the UN resolution from Israel's perspective. And maybe there is "much ado about something". Since around 1970 every Israel government wanted to build between Jerusalem and Ma'ale Adumim but felt unable to do so, and especially after signing the Oslo Accords in 1993. It would appear that Israel now sees the Oslo accords as negated and therefore has the right, reason or excuse, depending on how you look at it, to build in the above mentioned areas. Bibi is probably in favor, but I sense that Lieberman was the instigator, and although there are very many smart people in the Israeli government, Lieberman is probably the smartest.

Never will the Palestinian people act as punching bag, with our children being butchered by the thousands - at no cost to Israel. The occupation is going to start costing you dearly. Palestine is now a sovereign State according to International Treaty Law (Montevideo Convention on the Rights and Duties of States) and International Customary Law. Mr. Abbas will now freely contract with those States that recognised it to purchase arms and also apply to the International Court of Justice for violations of its sovereignty. No matter how one tries to play this down, the fact remains that over 100 UN Members States have made their intentions clear.

Unfortunately, Abbas is not one of them.

Palestine belonged for 400 years to the Damascus vilayet. So in the Ottoman Empire there was no difference between Syria and Palestine. Nowadays we are witnessing the end of what is called Syria. In the south Hauran province, with the city of Dera started the civil war against the Assad regime. Hauran must unite with north Jordan, nortern parts of West Bank and the cities of Jericho and Hebron and here is the new palestinian state. A perfect solution, south Jordan remain for Abdullah settlements will be untouched and Jerusalem will be united as the capital of Israel. Please nominate me for the next Nobel Peace Prize.

To be a state the PA needs to meet this first requirement: The state as a person of international law should possess the following qualifications: a ) a permanent population; b ) a defined territory; c ) government; and d) capacity to enter into relations with the other states. Ignoring the fact that they fail to meet the second item in terms of defined territory (they still need to negotiate boarders), they fail to meet the third item. The PA does not have a government, it has 2 separate governments (PA and Hamas) that both have exceeded their terms of office by more than 2 years. Until Abbas can go to Gaza and they can hold unification elections they are not a state regardless of what the UN GA says.
