31. TURKEY
(12.02.12)
STOP KILLING KURDS AND GIVE THEM A STATE. RECOGNIZE YOUR ARMENIAN GENOCIDE. GET OUT OF CYPRUS, YOUR OCCUPATION OF THIS ISLAND IS NOT RECOGNIZED BY THE UN OR ANY NATION IN THE WORLD. STOP ETHNICALLY CLEANSING THE CYPRIANS ON THE OCCUPIED ISLAND AND BRINGING IN FILTHY MUSLIMS FROM YOUR COUNTRY TO LIVE THERE. CLEAN UP YOUR ACT AND STOP ISLAMIZING YOUR COUNTRY. NO, TURKEY...YOU HAD ZERO TO DO WITH THE UN VOTE ON THE PALESTINIAN STATE. NOTHING AT ALL, ALTHOUGH YOU WISH TO TAKE THE CREDIT.

Dear Turkey. I, too, want to become a full member of the UN. I am a unique person, who has been to Israel. I am as worthy of full UN status as the so-called palestinians. I, too, have debt and struggle with freedoms. Yet, I will be glad to visit the UN General Assembly and seek Non-Member Observer Status, at my earliest convenience and, UN appointment. I have similar credentials as did the so-called Palestinians, regarding Statehood. Cheers.
33. #3 - Harold says U.S. policy is "one sided" for Isreal
Abraham ben Jacob ,   Canada   (12.02.12)
We think Harold is one sided and also is lop-sided. Harold objects to anyone that dis-agrees with him.
34. We forget
Mike ,   London UK   (12.02.12)
Turkey saved the Jews from Spain a few hundred years a go...and also during the Second World War gave citizenship to Jews in Germany to flee the nazis. How you forget!
35. Hi Turkey...
Y ,   N   (12.02.12)
I would love to see the KURDISH flag flying in front of the Un-building!
36. one day Palestine will be full member of UN
Salma ,   occupied Palestine   (12.02.12)
its just a matter of time.
37. #36 One Day....
ltrail ,   United States   (12.02.12)
No disrespect, but, no. I don't think so. The land of Palestine is already a full member of the UN. The State of Israel. The so-called palestinians(Egyptians, Syrians, Yemanese, Jordanians, etc.) will simply fade away; in the scheme of things. Time has its way; doesn't it?
38. Oh, right, because they CONSTANTLY BOMB THEIR NEIGHBO
Serge ,   Montreal, Canada   (12.02.12)
So, um, the reason Palestine isn't a state, so that there is no "fact" for the UN to "recognize", is because they CONSTANTLY BOMB THEIR NEIGHBOUR, AIMING AT CIVILIANS. Like, they're not targetting weapons. They're not even claiming that it deters anything or that there is any connection with self-defence. They simply commit war crimes unabashedly, and apparently the PA -- which purports to govern this state -- can't do anything about it. Which is the very definition of not being a state. By all means, let Palestine be a state. Which international law says means you have to, you know, be a state. And THEN ask the UN to recognize that you have done so. It ain't complicated.
39. Kurdistan

should also be a full menber"Don^t you think Mr. Davutoglu?
40. I am aware that Dovotoglu
Moragh   (12.02.12)
is not the brightest in the Nest and that the genuine Turks are also suffering. I think maybe Dovotoglu should move over and take care of his people first before he opens his stupid mouth. The guy even looks the idiot he is! Is it possible that maybe he didn't have any schooling or at least very, very little?

if that were to happen i am sure you know thre is so much turkey can take from you ;) wrong to support pals based on religion correct to support em cause they are right Turkey and israel considers eachother hostile states, is it that puzzling both would undermine eachothers interest? plus we dont owe israel anything vice versa can be said to be true so dont get upset this is just playing according to rules :)
42. To #18- The disillusioned
Ibrahim ,   Ankara, Turkey   (12.02.12)
If Turkey's existence is threatened, all of humanity's existence is then in danger. The Turks will never allow themselves to suffer without the perpetrators concurrently suffering themselves. Turkey has the soft and hard power to at the least cause havoc in this world. They too can talk nuclear if and when the need arises through proxies such as Pakistan. So those who are desperately thirsty for a military confrontation between Israel and Turkey, I say first stop and think. Turkey is not a disorganized group of Arab tribes. The Turks have always found a place on the world map and will continue to do so.

please could you translate your post into english....
44. 34 Mike YOU seem to forget
Marty ,   Toronto   (12.02.12)
What you forget is that Turkey had its own selfish reasons for accepting the Jews from Spain - they were piss poor at the time and wanted Jewish entrepreneurial skills to enriched their economy. And thats exactly what happened. So it was the Jews who saved the Turks (Ottomans) from poverty.

I am a Turkish born Sepharadic Jew. While it s correct that Ottoman empire gave refuge to Iberic Jews we are thankful for it despite the fact that this welcome was for self interest of the Ottomans in order to create a loyal population in the newly conquered Greek lands with hostile Greek population. However during WW II there were the 1936 Kirklareli pogrom where the Jews were attacked by Muslim mobs, there was the 1941 Varlik Vergisi that took away all the wealth and even home pots and pans from my family sending the man ti lobaor camps in Ashkale. My father was sent to a labor camp in Afyon. While a few very well educated university professors were given refuge in order to establish universities (Dr. Nissen was one that I knew, he immigrated to Switzerland after the war as all of them did) ordinary Jews escaping from NAZIs in ships like Struam and Parita were not allowed refuge. Eventually the Struma was let into the wild waters of the Black Sea with a broken engine that could not sail and was hit by an Russian sub killing all but one of the passengers.
47. #36 Salma I agree with you 100%
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (12.02.12)
It is only a matter of time. And when th eday comes when Palestinian Arbs learn to love their own children as much as they hate their Jewish neighbors now I as an American Jew will be you best friend supporting the Palestinian Arab friends to prosper and live in peace. Until then it is not the right time.

You said you don't owe Israel anything but if it was not for the Israeli efforts in late 1980 ies and early 1990 ies Turkey would most likely be under the crippling US embargo and the treasury in need to pay even a 70 cent bill as late PM Bulent Ecevit had stated. But I am well aware that the new generation of Turks are not like those righteous ones that I have been associated, they are nankor.
49. #42 Ibrahim
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (12.02.12)
You mentioned that Turkey is not a a disorganized group of Arab tribes. Well yes not exactly Arab tribes but there are some Arab tribes around Hatay, Diyarbakir, Gazi Antep, Urfa Maras Siirt Hakkari etc. Additionally many other tribes of Kurts, Zazas and many mmore. Additionally many slightlu organized Naksi bedi sect, Nurcu sect, Sulaymaniye sect and hundreds more of theseultra religious semi autonomous sects. But let me also rem=ind you again that it was In Turkey about 12 years ago in Sivas Madimak hotel that Sunni Muslim Turks burned to die their Alvi and Bektashi Muslim brothers at their convention at the Madimak hotel.
