Since Israel has never joined the NPT, there is nothing to discuss. It has no treaty obligations. This is the equivalent of the UN voting that Israel should not use a 120 mm cannon on its tanks. This is a purely internal matter. The UN cannot and has no legal authority to regulate such things.

The American people solidly back Israel, and US politicians know which side of the pita has the hummus.

Everybody is fully aware that Israel has nuclear weapons, that being said the international community will never support a war on Iran for the same reason. If Israel wants Iran they will have to do it themselves.
