1. The bullying of the UK and EU
Joan ,   New Zealand   (12.04.12)
It is the other way around - I would think everyone is sick and tired of Britain and Europe's interference. With the way the Leftists have governed the UK and the EU they have enough trouble to contend with without interfering with Israel. With well over two thousand mosques in the UK and the demand for more Sharia law it may not be long before the Muslims are demanding East London as their capital.
2. Israel should announce even more building
NudNik69 ,   Nowhere Near Iran   (12.04.12)
EU are full of S. A big war is coming and EU better hope that Israel wins or itself is dead meat.
3. obama behind eurabian moves, stop spreading fallacies .
trump ,   eurabia   (12.04.12)
4. "held captive by internal Israeli politics"?
EGGM ,   Petah Tikva, Israel   (12.04.12)
Is Attila Somfavli listening to himself? The prime responsibility of a politician is to cater to national interests, not foreign ones. What matters is what Israeli citizens think.
5. Israel IS pretty much alone!
Taz Man ,   USA   (12.04.12)
Israel needs to stand as one during these perilous times. Although, I haven't agreed with some of what he's done, I still believe Netanyahu is, truly, trying to protect Israel and its interests! Regardless, of being left, center or right, Israel needs to come together and stand as one nation. All-out war is very near; the world is coming for Jerusalem! But, He who never sleeps...nor slumbers, watches over His own people and land. ALL those who do come against Jerusalem will be "...cut to pieces...", as so declares God's true and faithful Word. God bless, Israel and His Jerusalem!!! A Christian Zionist
6. Us, Israelis are fed up with dying as result of Europe's &
tom ,   tel aviv   (12.04.12)
USA's brown-nosing Arab, oily touches... Unless they (Europeans) are ready to die instead of us , we should return to the good old days of saying Hell NO to continuing Arab occupation of Land of Israel, be that east or west of any bloody, coloured "line"!
7. Maybe, just maybe we're rediscovering our backbone?!
tom ,   tel aviv   (12.04.12)
8. Take care!
Geoff ,   London (UK)   (12.04.12)
Israel needs to be very careful in how it deals with its allies. In life generally, we never know when we might need our friends.
9. 4 years to turn EU against Netanyahu?
tiki ,   belgium   (12.04.12)
The writer hasn't been listening. It took ONE day! 4 years of no progress & no dialogue with the PA? The EU hasn't been listening and should start searching their own heart why! The EU wants to establish 'another Arab state in the area, called Arab Palestine. Why? Oil & Eurabia! If Jews therefore have to move or perish, so be it. Europeans can live with that scenario. It won't be the first time after all!
10. Europe.....
Dan ,   Israel   (12.04.12)
Who cares about the big bad Europe. They have little sway. Pathetic economies and weak militarilly.
11. Yeah I'm fed up too
Dan ,   USA   (12.04.12)
With Europe. That great sanctuary of peace and democracy. The place that gave us communism, fascism, bigotry, anti-semitism, and other forms of malaise and evil. Hey how's the fiscal crisis going Europe? Why don't you get off your own lazy rear ends and go to work and stop telling the rest of us what to do.
12. The more Israel is pressed the more Christians love Israel!
Jouko ,   Finland   (12.04.12)
13. #8
Yaron ,   USA   (12.04.12)
With all due respect....the Brits are not allies nor have they EVERY had an objective view of Israel or Jewish settlement in our ancient land. It would be best if the British treated the Israelis as they do the Russians....keep you mouth shut and assume your position. Let's face it additionally.....the Brits cut off the Israelis so many years ago that it is laughable to believe they actually have any leverage over events in Israel.
14. Good one - another euro in spin wasted
Daniel ,   Beer Sheva   (12.04.12)
like all the other millions they pore into extremsit orginisations like pieces now. The only ones suffering will be the europeans, as they export mucg more to us than we to them ($10B is a lot of money for bankrupt economies). They have no innovation or generation that can pick up the pieces as they sold their scholling system away for some oil dollars. The other who will suffer are all lefty orginisations like BG University's social studies department, who receives non-stop funding from the eu for, basically, doing for vilivying Irseal.
15. Good article! It brings up the reality pretty well!
EU   (12.04.12)
16. the reason bibi must win big. eu is pals ally not ours. they
ralph   (12.04.12)
are our enemy. not our friend. wake up.
17. Hooray! It means that Bibi will be the big winner
Chaim   (12.04.12)
With Barak out Israel will hopefully finally become safer.
18. Jews no longer submit to European perfidy and cowardice.
Chaim ,   Israel   (12.04.12)
Europe has no business getting involved in Israel's affairs. We have had more than enough of European racism, perfidy and cowardice over the centuries. Jews no longer submit. This is our land now and forever. Europe had better try to save it's own bankrupt and drowning civilization.
19. Achoice for the israeli people.
Shalom ,   U.S.A.   (12.04.12)
This article should talk about Israel's needs, instead of the demands of a hostile international community. Their intention is clear to every person with common sense. Yediot Aharonot is advocating the arab agenda; giving up Jerusalem, the holy sites, Judea and Samaria, cutting down the country's size which would be impossible to defend. Suicide politics?
20. Bibi needs to grow a pair and draw a line in the sand
Baruch Shimpshon   (12.04.12)
Jerusalem is not up for negotiation, period.
21. What PA issue?
michael redbourn ,   Arad   (12.04.12)
Abbas doesn't want Jews in his new Palestine and there's no way to move them out of the West Bank. 9,000 Israelis were uprooted from Gaza and it was the biggest Army operation since the Yom Kippur war and it took 10 days. Approximately 500,000 Israelis live in the West Bank, so who could evacuate them? Answer? Nobody! Every politician and every journalist know the above but it's a no no to talk about it.
22. Friends
RH ,   Europe   (12.04.12)
Alas Ashton is not and never has been a friend to Israel. She is an unelectable waster! The problem that europe has had is that they think they can bully people to their position. Israel's problem is that this and previous Governments have not told the Palsetinians and the world that Jerusalem is not on the negotiating table. By them thinking that it will be theirs or even jointly owned by the "UN" is bonkers. Let these fools tell their friends that the capital of an eventual Palestine will either be Rammalah or Amman! Simples!!
23. fed up
aaron ,   toronto,canada   (12.04.12)
If europe is so fed up with the stalemate then GO AWAY AND DON'T BOTHER OTHER COUNTRY'S BUSINESS,the world can see how great europe is doing now.
24. In the ongoing chess match
StevieT ,   USA   (12.04.12)
between Abbas and Bibi, the UN move might have been checkmate. Bibi and his inept team of undiplomatic diplomats may have reached their point of no return. The PA has international status, it is a fait acompli. Any and all negative Israeli reactions will seem petty and punitive, magnified in the world press. Israels seemingly indefensible actions will cause deep and damaging wounds to the wonderful country of my forbearers. It is all too much for me to witness, a boorish group of leaders, cemented to power by an amalgamation of an irrational religious right and a large swath of fine Israeli's who believe that bellicosity and unnecessary aggressiveness equals strength. And what makes it even more painful, is that there are no adults in the wings to right the ship. My hopes and blessings are with you, but my heart is in my throat.
25. Europe
Serge ,   Antwerp, Belgium   (12.04.12)
Europe is rewarding the Palestinians for refusing to negotiate with Israel since Netanyahu's election. Why should the they negotiate ? The UN will grant them sovereignty and Europe will punish Israel.
26. "moving"?
Jacques VITENBERG ,   France   (12.04.12)
What means "moving"? Israel moving: it means "laseget" and nothing else! Palestinians: Accepting gifts, not saying "thanks", but "no more?"
27. europe can drink
JL   (12.04.12)
out of a toilet..just like a dog does
28. And Israel Is Fed Up With Europe
ACortez ,   Anaheim, CA, USA   (12.04.12)
So now what. Keep building Bibi and you won't have to worry about the leftists come election time. Give in to the pressure and there will be no doubt of your defeat.
29. Bibi the Clown is not respected anymore by anybody.
naro ,   nyc   (12.04.12)
30. Let's Respond to Them
Aryeh ,   Haifa   (12.04.12)
Respond to the EU and their pro-PA votes by annexing several of the settlement blocks (and their access roads) into Israel. No tricks, just straight moves. For each and every move of the PA, EU, etc. make a move, and declare that this is Israeli policy. And when the EU countries say something, respond and remind them of their annexing of territories in the past. Hey France, why don't you give Nice back to Italy? Go Free Brittany! And while you're at it, you still owe the Jewish Nation compensation for your armies stealing from and killing of Jews. 500 billion euros should do it. Next we can begin to talk to Spain and Portugal.
