1. The UN is very busy with E1
Jerome ,   AKL   (12.06.12)
What a bunch of wankers! 40,000 people dead, chemical weapons ready to load on plane and the international community is busy with a fake entity whom no one heard of before 1967. Goes to show you that if you constantly repeat a lie, 7 billion pagans on earth start believing it's a true story.
2. You Smell Foul
Abdel Karim Salim ,   Jerusalem   (12.06.12)
Israel and the West are trying to give themselves an excuse - or rather a pretext , to launch another military adventure somewhere here like the one America launched against Iraq in 2003 . And while I don't support any of the game players in the Middle East I certainly would not want to see American troops violating another arab country .
3. The Winds May Blow Gas Into Israel

Come on IDF - Do your stuff!
4. Damascus playing deadly game.
SD Charger ,   San Diego   (12.06.12)
I hope Israel doesn't "warn" them like the US does. Tongue lashings is all Obama does. Have we seen anything done about Benghazi yet? Nope, they allowed US citizens to be murdered without any consequences. Syria is right next door and I pray the Israeli Government doesn't mess around like the US does.
5. Find Assad

and blow him up!!!

Keep talking; a sign of do nothings. What will you do if he bombs them Madam? Nothing!

8. To: No. 2
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.06.12)
Any use of sarin would be a war crime on a potentially massive scale. And Assad is just crazy enough to do it -- he wants to stay in power. So, would you rather see the territorial sanctity of (yet another) tinpot Arab despot violated, or would you rather inhale nerve gas? You're a fool.
9. Its time for Israel to start dropping its own bombs
zionist forever   (12.06.12)
If Assad has put together some chemical weapons it means he is ready to use them and he wouldn't hesitate to use them against Israel and these things are no Fajar rockets. Even if Obama is doing his now is not the time to strike but all options are on the table routine and Jordan refusing to let us use its airspace we must say screw you to the lot of them and get those planes into the air turn those chemical weapons sites into piles of rubble.

states back in around 48 that the State of Israel not interfere with the rites of those people What was there name I forget , something like the name of the Jeruselem post before it was called that. I agree with you tell a lie enough times people will believe it. Like Israel's denial of the Armenian Genocide
11. Crossing a red line
Rhonda ,   Chicago, USA   (12.06.12)
I'm afraid that the US expression of "crossing a red line" has become crying wolf. Doesn't mean anything and therefore countries like Syria have no respect for it. They will do what they want, when they want. The only country that has any @&$ is Israel and she gets clobbered by the court of world opinion every time she does what other countries fantasize what they threaten to do. The western world is a joke and the power the US once had as a deterent against evil, as a force for good is a toothless giant.

Rhonda ,   Chicago, USA   (12.06.12)
So according to your argument we should just let these regimes kill all the people. And that's why Americans are fed up with trying to help people...the y don't appreciate it anyway. Only one people appreciates it and that's Israel. Haven't seen any Israelis burn an American flag, pass out candy when Americans are murdered by terrorists...
13. Warning to Israel..those bombs may very well fall on you
Al   (12.06.12)
Get out of the election BS mode and get ready. Does everyone have his gas mask ready? Its called a hail mary pass and Assad is about to lobe it at you. If he is going down, he wants his lagacy to be that he took you out.
14. Syria
Avi   (12.06.12)
The sly serpent is about to inject its toxic venom spreading freedom and liberty to all yet the United Nations is very busy when it comes to Israel – apparently we are the obstacle to peace in the region making Syria the remedy and the United Nations chiefs in justice…
15. Assad would be No. 1 war criminal if he
Barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (12.06.12)
uses chemical weapons. International community have to get it across to Assad that he'd be on the Most Wanted List - dead or alive.
16. First Saddam. Then Khaddafi. Next is Assad
meir elazar   (12.06.12)
It is absolutely wonderful seeing Arab leaders deposed and killed as they decay further and further into anarchy and poverty. The Religious Extremist leaders advance and further increase the misery and radicalism of the Arab population. It is time to see through the sham and see the truth that they are responsible for most terror in the world. It is time to ignore them and stop legitimizing their bogus claims.
17. Using this logic
Chopper4 ,   CPT South Africa   (12.06.12)
US red line on Syria...100's of 1000's of victims of sarin gas then they will attack. Using that same logic...Iran's red line would mean they would have to have launched an attack with a nuke and kill millions of people. The red line should be before the damage can be done...doh and not after the fact. If Syria release Sarin gas does NATO not realise they cannot put foot soldiers in the country?? That also puts Israel, Turkey, Israel and Jordan also at risk due to wind or the shelling of these countries. Israel has the correct tactics and the world called Assad's bluff and the problem is Israel knows Syria does not bluff and is taking the world for a ride just like Iran is. It is such a pity that Israel's advice is not adhered to...When we end up saying "We Told You So"

Its actually not so good to see these arab leaders deposed. They are not nice people but they made sure there was regional stability. SADDAM - before he went Iraqis didn't like living under him but he was controlled through sanctions and a no fly zone and Iraq was stable. Saddam is gone and country has turned into a terrorist paradise, its driven up oil prices and the other Gulf states are on edge. KHADDAFI - again not a very nice man and Libyans were not over the moon about him but the country was stable as was Libyan oil prices. ASSAD - As long as you didn't get on the wrong side of him he was actually reasonably well liked in Syria. The country was stable, we knew who we were dealing with now we have a civil war spreading into Lebanon & the Golan and we don't really know who will replace him or what they will be like. Some of the rebels are from Al Quaida, they have got their hands on things like anti aircraft missies which one day could be used against civilian airliners by terrorists. Last but not least he has the worlds largest chemical weapons stockpiles in the world and there is a real possibility he might use them as a last resort. So bad as all these men were they created regional stability.

Isaiah 17 17 The burden against Damascus. “Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city, And it will be a ruinous heap. 2 The cities of Aroer are forsaken;[a] They will be for flocks Which lie down, and no one will make them afraid. 3 The fortress also will cease from Ephraim, The kingdom from Damascus, And the remnant of Syria; They will be as the glory of the children of Israel,” Says the Lord of hosts.

I think you'll find the Armenian Genocide was actually perpetrated by Ottoman Turks.
22. he will use it , in an attack on Israel
CH.S ,   54ST BROOKLYN NY   (12.06.12)
when Assad will realize, that his end is near,he will launch an all out attack on Israel, thereby going out in a blaze of glory,of course this cowardly leftist self hating government will not try to prevent this catastrophy, because their master Hussein Obama will not give them permission, citizens of Israel, with this suicidal self hating leftist governement of yours, you are doomed

He was taking a poke at Israel not questioning who was involved.
24. Coming war
Stormy ,   Knoxville, TN - USA   (12.06.12)
I do have to say that this is very disturbing and worrisome especially since Sarin is known for having a short shelf life of only a few weeks to a few months. This could very well mean that in order for them to take the time to make them, that they may very well have plans to use them in the immediate future. I have felt for quite awhile that Syria may use weapons like this on Israel resulting in the fulfillment of Isaiah 17 when Israel understandably retaliates. My theory has been that after Isaiah 17 is fulfilled that it may immediately result in Ezekiel 38 & 39 as the Arab nations retaliate against Israel. I mentioned this to my Jewish friend in Jerusalem a few months before Syria was caught moving weapons out of storage and now we have this stuff. I must keep reminding myself that G-d is in control and that He will protect Israel. This does not mean that bad things cannot happen, but Israel and the Jewish people will be protected overall.
25. Obama might want Israel to attack
zionist forver   (12.06.12)
The Obama and Erdogan are desperate to do something about Assad but there is no political will at home to get into another war over WMDS. If Israel were to initiate a war Turkey and the US possibly Europe would have the excuse they both want to jump in and and join the fight then request the Security Council pass a resolution creating a no fly zone over Syria and even the Russians will have a hard time to justify vetoing it. Once the WMDS are destroyed Israel will pull out and leave NATO to pick up the pieces.
26. #18 - Spot on
Amichai ,   Huntsville, US   (12.06.12)
You forgot to mention Mubarak in Egypt. He held quite a favorable relationship with Israel. Now that the MB is in charge, we'll see a very different shift. Israel is quickly becoming surrounded by madmen possessing horrible weapons. If Abdullah falls in Jordan then hold on to your hats!
27. #2 - you don't think chem weapons is a good reason??
William ,   Israel   (12.06.12)
That's a pretty darn good pretext for action on Syria, especially considering the damage Saddam caused when he did the same thing after Gulf War I. Israel doesn't want a war with Syria. Syria is doing fine killing themselves and others. But to remain silent on the probable deaths inside Syria and in neighboring countries from this maniac is akin to supporting war crimes. All you can do is point out its an Arab country while ignoring its crimes. When the wind blows Sarin gas towards your home in Jerusalem, will you hold the same opinion?
28. "If Assad uses chem weapons, there's little the world can do
William ,   Israel   (12.06.12)
Really? The whole use of chem weapons is because of the desperation by the Assad regime. They want to stay in power and want to live. Point out that ANY use of chem weapons will result in an immediate and devastating attack on ALL Syrian military personnel, installations, and the Syrian govt buildings including Presidential Palaces. Then open a backdoor for Assad and his family to leave Syria. Guaranteed they'll choose their own lavish life over a martyrdom death. Always do.
29. #24 Stormy
DavidR ,   USA   (12.06.12)
Stormy, I agree with your evaluation. It may not happen that way, however, it seems likely to me. Another issue is, just who is "Israel" that G-d will protect? It is not a secular government or secular people, nor is it religious people. It is His People who are keeping Torah and following Mashiach.
30. I wonder why the world claims to want Nuke-free ME
William ,   Israel   (12.06.12)
and targets Israel with demands for inspection and joining the NPT (when they don't do the same to Pakistan, India, or North Korea), but feel comfortable with chemical WMDs in the ME? Chem WMDs are easily used in rockets, as we've just seen, and have a history of being used by mad dictators in the ME, like Saddam. And Syria has the largest arsenal in the world of them, with a genocidal hatred towards a UN member country. And yet there is no intl symposium or body calling for a WMD free ME. Why is that?
