1. Wow, what a tragedy, the Portico's aren't coming!
tiki ,   belgium   (12.10.12)
They are upset about the 'building of 3000 houses, but not about thousands of murdered Islam woman/children by Islamists. These Idiots really should stay at home and have another sniff of coke. That's their world, that's their reality.
2. Who cares? Our eternal Heartland vs. U.K. musicians.
Chaim ,   Israel   (12.10.12)
Gosh, what a decision. On one side, Israel's eternal heartland of Judea and Samaria. On the other, a group of self important, hypocritical, likely racist U.K. musicians. Who cares if they play in Israel now or ever?
3. e1 plan
colin   (12.10.12)
4. Cowards Cowards Cowards
Jay Abouaf ,   Jaffa Israel   (12.10.12)
5. I AM HEARTBROKEN
CAPTAIN OBVIOUS ,   SAFED JAZZ CENTRE   (12.10.12)
Portico Quartet have decided to boycott the jews ,and they call us racist ? To hell with this quartet .
6. PORTICO QUARTET
DA RAP ARTISTE ,   SAFED OPERA HOUSE   (12.10.12)
Their monotonous and pretentious music gives me a rayal headache. Thank the Lord they are not coming here.
7.  WHAT THIS MEANS
DA JAZZ ARTISTE ,   SAFED JAZZ HOUSE MAN   (12.10.12)
We shall just have to survive without this monotonous headache music.
8.  PORTICO QUARTET LOST OUT
DA URBAN POET ,   SFAT ISRAEL   (12.10.12)
They could have enjoyed some winter sun and sea in Eilat and had a fantastic time ,instead they caved in to pressure and they swallowed the " kool-aid" propaganda nonsense. Their loss..
9. Yes, and before, they received no letters at all. Dishonest!
Serge ,   Montreal, Canada   (12.11.12)
I'm sorry they are out-and-out liars. They say that they are cancelling because, since this E-1 plan business, they have received letters urging them not to play in Israel. Please! They were always receiving letters urging them not to play in Israel. That is the game plan of the boycotters. I have no doubt that, whenever there is anything in the news, that inspires a fresh round of letters from this little group of hardcore boycotters -- but to then turn around and say that these letters are somehow something new or unforeseen is simply to tell lies. Let them stay at home and tell racist lies to each other, rather than venture into the Middle East and share them with Israel!
10. Never heard of them
Deb ,   US   (12.11.12)
Spineless musicians. Wouldn't be surprised if they book these performances with the intention to cancel. Totally poor showmanship.
11. Why would ANY rational human being...
M. Davison ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (12.11.12)
Expect a boycott of a jazz festival initiated by a municipality and barely recognized by the Ministry of Culture to affect the policies of a government that's ending its term of office in a couple of months? It makes about as much sense as expecting an umbrella to help in a hurricane.
12. Any excuse to get away fromrockets
Dan ,   ks   (12.11.12)
Some people will use any excuse to not go to a place where they can be killed by "peaceful" Arabs firing rockets from Egypt to Akaba, but falling short and landing in Eilat.
13. SILLY BOYS REALLY
CAPTAIN OBVIOUS ,   SAFED JAZZ CENTRE   (12.11.12)
Portico Quartet could have come to Eilat , played their music and had an enjoyable time ,some sunshine and sea and good food and drink and made some money .Instead ,they let their fears and / or prejucies get the better of them . Well....their loss.
14. Portico to do charity concert!
Rhonda ,   Chicago, USA   (12.12.12)
I am sure we can expect a charity concert from them for mental health services for the children of southern Israel who have slept in bomb shelters...the heck with this band.
15. Jazz and poltics
Jazz lover ,   Germany   (12.12.12)
Those guys are shame to Jazz. Much bigger names were in Israel just recently. They can form a band with another Israel hater - Gilad Atzmon and look for invitation to Gaza Jihadzz festival.
