1. About time
Marcelo ,   TLV / Berlin   (12.09.12)
It was about time to put a line and be proud of Israel. You can disagree, but you cannot undermine the national security and instigate to violence against the same country that gives you the place and freedom to express yourself. She's a "palilala" as she said several times, well, Gaza and the the Republic of Palilala in Ramallah will welcome her....
2. Zoabi is the only shred of democracy in israel
Abdalla   (12.09.12)
N
3. It such a pity I feel like crying
zionist forever   (12.09.12)
NOT The only thing to cry about is the fact she has been around so long.
4. WW condemnation would follow
lydia ,   Brisbane   (12.09.12)
Zoabi's main role is to represents HER electorate, she is elected by HER people. That's how a real Democracy operates. In the US even foaming at the mouth lunatic teabaggers can get elected. Zoabi is no teabagger but is a well respected member of the Government which is more than can be said about many ie Lieberman or Netanyahu.
5. #2
caleb ,   israel   (12.09.12)
She is guilty of sedition. In any other country she would be in prison or have disappeared.
6. @2 Zoabi = Traitor
M Carr ,   Baltimore, USA   (12.09.12)
"Zoabi is the only shred of democracy in Israel" I disagree with the above quote. If Zoabi behaved in a similar fashion while living in Gaza, I'm sure her corpse would be dragged thru the streets tied to the back of a motorcycle. Zoabi is a traitor, nothing more, nothing less.
7. I thought this day would never come!
Vlad   (12.09.12)
Looks like Israel's patience with them wasn't limitless after all.
8. Democracy is one thing....
alsky ,   Toronto   (12.09.12)
treason is another. Drop her off in Gaza. (I'll pay for the taxi ride)
9. #4 Iydia a fine line between representation and treason
Vlad   (12.09.12)
She is supposed to be looking out for the interests of Israel as a member of the government. She has openly engaged in treasonous acts, including participating in military action. Just imagine if an Australian MP went to Iraq and fought against Australian troops with Saddam's army in 2003. And her electorate is a fifth column.
10. Tolerance for Treason is not Democracy
Shalom Freedman ,   Jerusalem Israel   (12.09.12)
Calling for the destruction of the state whose parliament she sits in, openly collaborating with that state's enemies make Zoabi unqualified to sit in Israel's Parliament. There is no other nation in the world that allows members of its legislative body to work for and call for its destruction. .
11. Zouabi, Tibi, Bishra are the dregs of Israeli society
zionist forever   (12.09.12)
12. Yeah, but it was OK to disqualify Kahana
Mel ,   Chicago   (12.09.12)
not so many years ago. Was this apartheid or democracy.
13. Israel getting on a very smelly path
Gregg ,   Haifa IL   (12.09.12)
14. Does democracy allow anything?
Rhonda ,   Chicago, USA   (12.09.12)
Actively pursuing the overthrow of the government and colluding with the enemy while an agent of the government during a military operation is an act of treason.
15. From the outside..
Beary White ,   Norway   (12.09.12)
..how is it possible to have an Israel hater as a MK?? She would fit perfectly into the group of the norwegian leftist labour party, - outside Israel. Do the arabic voters support this body??
16. Kahane out but Zoabi in? What?
Ari ben Canaan ,   planet reason   (12.09.12)
So Kahane is disqualified but Zoabi can continue to spew her racial incitement and engage in treasonous acts against the state? What a perversion of justice, and what a sad state of affairs for a Jewish State that focuses more on becoming like Switzerland than walking tall and standing for moral clarity.
17. Zoabi Has Never Even Been Charged with Treason,
Doug ,   Rochester, USA   (12.09.12)
Let alone convicted of treason. Despite the anti-Arab legal system and government in Israel. So if she has never been charged or convicted of treason, she obviously has not committed treason. Any attempt to stop her from running is clearly anti-democracy and is not in the least bit anti-treason. If it was anti-treason, then they would be going after the far-right-wing MK's who have supported illegal settlers defy the IDF.
18. Right wing in Israel oppose democracy
Yossi ,   Tel Aviv   (12.10.12)
The right in Israel are agents of intolerance, they will not be quite until anybody who oppose them is out.
19. Democracy is NOT a suicide pact
Dan ,   Florida - Tel Aviv   (12.10.12)
20. #18 Yossi
Vlad   (12.10.12)
There is a fine line between democracy and treason. Bashing your government's policies is one thing. Visiting enemy states, openly inciting against the state, and participating in an attack on Israeli soldiers is a totally different matter.
21. I see this as a positive first step in a new trend
Vlad   (12.10.12)
Slowly but surely, the government of Israel may be catching up to what needs to be done. The process is taking time, but the signs are in place. Israel is no longer going to tolerate a fifth column within its borders. Next we will see Arabs being forced to do national service, and their rioting swiftly put down like in October 2000. Then, we will see them either being forced to pay municipal taxes or have the utilities shut off. And then, we may start to see the government encourage Jews to move into Arab areas with its support.
22. A democracy reopresents all its people
Sammy   (12.10.12)
Israel represents half the people
23. this terrorist, anti-democratic fascist must be disqualifie
ralph   (12.10.12)
24. She is fascist!
trumps   (12.10.12)
25. Disqualify all those that never served in
jason white ,   afula, israel   (12.10.12)
the I.D.F. Take away the right to vote and work in government of all of them, including Jews.
26. lydia
aaron ,   toronto,canada   (12.10.12)
she is well respected by your government not ours. It's about time they kicked her ass to the curve.
27. # 5 and #1 who are you to judge?
Doron ,   Tel Aviv   (12.10.12)
No court in Israel ever indicted Zoabi , yes she oppose the occupation, yes she she outspoken against the abuse in the occupied territories. There are many Jews who oppose the repression in the occupied territories. Th ruling parties in Israel support repression and abuse.
28. 4
zionist forever   (12.10.12)
Does being a politician allow you to say or do anything on the grounds you represent the electorate or do things that would be consider arrestable offences for civilians but abuse parliamentary privilege to do them? We are also not talking about kicking her out the Knesset but stopping her standing in the coming election and if she is not elected then she doesn't represent anybody does she? She is not a member of the government she is an MK, a member of the government is a member of the coalition which Balad is not part of.
29. Worse than Kahane
Ellen ,   Israel/NYC   (12.10.12)
Kahane's "crime" was what he advocated, what he verbalized. His actions were non existent. Zoabi has actively participated in anti-Israel activities. She partook in the Flotilla, she has called for Israel's destruction. THAT is treason. If a left-wing Jewish MK was to do the same thing--I'd support their removal too. In terms of the right--I am trying to figure out their terrible crime. Near as I can figure it is having the chutzpah to stand up for Israel and the Jewish State. Sorry--that is what a MK inIsrael SHOULD do.
30. Is she denies Israel as a State then obiously she has no job
Grace333 ,   USA   (12.10.12)
