1. No Sevice + No Social Benefits
David ,   Haifa, Israel   (12.11.12)
Time to cut the funding of these lazy parasites and draft them in to the army , will make men of them, teach them to do an honest days work instead of milking the system dry while contributing nothing.
2. Not only Lithuanian but Hasidim too
Chaim   (12.11.12)
reject the new draft plan as a danger to Judaism.
3. the weirdo black hat leaders do more harm then good
jack bauer   (12.11.12)
instead of helping they sow discord and are just as guilty as those in govt and the IDF who make it hard for integration. Only by working together will we be able to withstand the coming storm. If we remain divided and hateful the likelihood is we will all be destroyed in the next shoah that is almost upon us
4. When it comes to "palestinians" and charedi
A ,   Belgium   (12.11.12)
they are one and the same: money leeches who give nothing in return.
5. UN PRODUCTIVE MEMBERS OF SOCIETY

8. G-d decides who will win a war not the number of soldiers
Chavie ,   NYC   (12.12.12)
Our power is in our mouths, in our morality, in our learning of the holy Torah and in our prayers. It is the learning of the yeshiva boys that protects Israel from harm and wins our wars through our soldiers. Thousands of missels have rained down on Israel yet there are so few dead? The 1967 war, attacked by 5 armies, expecting 70,000 dead, only to be victorious in 6 days? Israel, a tiny country surrounded by millions of enemies bent on her destruction, that continues to exist and thrive? G-d constantly preforms miracles for the Jewish people. We should acknowledge them and thank G-d. The whole world was created for the sake of the Torah and the Jewish People. We are a light to what is now a very very dark world full of lies, bigotry and hatred. For the sake of Israel, for the sake of the whole world, we should insist that the yeshiva boys sit and learn Torah so their light can dispel the darkness and we can merit the final redemption speedily in our time.
9. chavie 8 . Miracles ?
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (12.12.12)
Where were your "miracles" during the Shoa ? It were the mostly secular men AND Women who gave their life for this country , not something inexisting you call a god . It was the IDF that in 1967 gave us this victory , thanks to their fighting spirit , the tactics , the Air force that destroyed rapidly the enemy planes . If it were for your god , no Israel would exist . chavie learn some history , read some books about the wars we had to fight .
10. No to National Service???
Opposed to handouts   (12.13.12)
Those who exclude themselves from working for a living and/or participating in the commonweal of the Nation (IDF or National Service) obviously need to move out of Medinat Yisrael to places where their idleness and complete financial dependence on others will be acceptable. The Talmudic precept "Im eyn kemach' eyn Torah" demands that ALL able-bodied men earn a living to support themselves and their families before having the "luxury" of engaging in Torah study. Absent some gainful work, these lazy individuals are just total "batlanim" i.e. idlers, fakers and wastrels. The Litvish rabbinate and the so-called ch'asidim conveniently omit the practice of BASIC Talmudic rules since receiving welfare and government handouts is effortless nowadays...
11. To #8
Norman Gellman ,   Rehovot   (12.13.12)
What utter nonsense, you seem to forget that G-d helps those who help themselves. The only place where G-d interfered with winning a war is in the Torah. There is no case in recorded history where prayer alone defeated an enemy. These yeshiva students who refuse military service are just a bunch of self serving cowards.. The Torah requires an active military deference against aggressors.
12. 11 These yeshiva students ...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (12.13.12)
totally confide in their rabbi and listen to him without questioning. They are wonderful elements and certainly no cowards. Israel needs both ,soldiers and Tora students.they are both vital to Israel s existence.

"One of the best feelings in the world is when you hug someone you love and they hug you back even tighter" [don t remember the author] Happy Hanuka to all the Jewish Neshamot ,included the one who denies having a Neshama [tell it to the marines-]
16. Ora , Happy hanouccah to you too
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (12.13.12)
It's one of those feast i like , remembers the revolt of our ancestors against oppressors . This one who "denies to have a neshema" has a name , and defends our country and people "abroad" . Did you read ?
