... always be another opinion and people will continue to do as they please, especially when its behind closed doors.
4. In Judaism joy is essential....
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (12.15.12)
while doing ALL mizvot. Lack of joy in whatever mitzva, included marital relations, is a sure proof that there is something wrong in the way of practicing them, and has to be improved. Be VERY cautious by choosing a help,be sure that he might not do more harm than good.
5. 2 Vlad,from what i understand...

you know nothing.

I'll admit my knowledge is limited. But from what I know, the Torah never explicitly prohibits premarital sex, and there is lots of it in the Tanakh. It was only the Talmudic rabbis who used some vague verse in the Torah to justify banning premarital sex, and impose all these modesty laws.
7. at this point, I'd be satisfied if...
Bluegrass Picker ,   Afula   (12.16.12)
...Judaism encouraged professional standards in journalism. Possibly a bridge too far.
8. Vlad : Clarifications on the prohibition premarital sex
American Sabrah ,   Israel   (12.16.12)
While premarital sex is not explicit forbidden from the Torah, it does mention the prohibition of a man sleeping with a woman who is in niddah. From the time a woman menstruates till she goes to the mikvah, she is not allowed to have any sexual relations with a man (referring to her husband). Since single unmarried women no longer go to the mikvah, they still have the status of being in niddah and therefore they are forbidden to other men unless they marry them. That is where premarital sex comes in. Judaism also frowns upon premarital sex for emotional and psychological reasons as well. Among many other reasons, that is why we encourage people to marry. Like wine, sex can be used for pleasure . When abused though,it can be destructive. Mind you, the Torah doesn't also explicitly mention pedophilia but that doesn't mean it condones child molestation either.
9. 6 Vlad, you were right ..
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (12.16.12)
But ,it is written in the Tora that we should listen to the Rabbis. I appreciate the nice way you reacted to my unkind comment. You sound like a decent guy.
10. Bring back polygamy!
Koose E Mack ,   NY NY   (12.16.12)
Does being holy to G-d mean suffering if you have a miserable marriage? At least in the old days, if you couldn't get along with one wife, you had the opportunity to marry another one. In any case, not providing pleasure to your spouse is grounds for divorce. The down side of polygamy: you get more than one set of In Laws! Gimme dat ol time religion!
11. #8 American Sabrah
Vlad   (12.16.12)
The Torah does not prohibit single women from immersing in a mikveh. These restrictions were imposed by rabbis alone.
12. Ora and Sabrah
Vlad   (12.17.12)
Since they didn't publish my initial replies, I'll reply again. There is no ban in the Torah against unmarried women entering the Mikveh. That ban was imposed by moral purists who run the places, and has now been overturned in Israel by the Supreme Court. Also, there is a difference between honoring and listening to the rabbis, and blindly obeying them. Here is clearly a case where they need to be questioned, since their justification for imposing all these modesty laws is questionable at best.
13. Mommy what is
Bunnie Meyer ,   USA   (12.17.12)
Mommy what is bigamy? That is one woman married to two men. What is polygamy? That is one man married to two women. What is one man married to one woman? That my dear, is monotony.
14. 12 Vlad,you might not consider...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (12.17.12)
the modesty laws questionable if you had children, mainly girls, of sixteen and more.
15. #14 Ora
Vlad   (12.17.12)
I meant it's questionable that the Torah demands it at best, not what you individually think is best.
