2.  Will meet in two months - hoping for new Israel government
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NY   (12.12.12)
If Jordan is announcing that the Palestinians will only meet with Israel in 2 months, then both Jordan and the Palestinians are hoping that the next government (6 weeks to elections) will be more to their liking. But not surprising considering that the Palestinians have not really come to negotiate since Olmert announced new elections 4 years ago.

Arnold ,   Canada   (12.12.12)
Why bother to bring it up. Slow news day ? Recent times in the ME have shown than in 2 months 3 governments can fall. 5,000 people can die in civil strife. Hell in one day the whole ME can have an upheaval.
7. Inauspicious auspices
Hunt S Cross ,   England   (12.12.12)
Under EU and US auspices means preconditions. One-way preconditions. And this announcement is meant to paint Israel into a corner. But no auspices are needed other than UNSC242, and that should be made clear. It is the Palestinians who have always refused to negotiate. That blame must not be shifted to Israel.
